I use a projector for most of my viewing and gaming in my bedroom, but it's an older dumb one. So I got myself a roku stick to see about getting my mobile device mirrored up... And it has been maddening to try and wade through what programs are free, aren't completely drowned in ads, or are so obviously clones of one another... It's a joke.

Baseline it seems my phone uses chromecast protocol, but is able to connect in some apps over airplay? But this far it either can't see the stick, is too laggy, or as stated the apps aren't free or are so drowned in aps to be unusable.

Anyone have any suggestions on what to use? Natively my phone is unable to see the roku stick, so that seems to be out.

I'm looking for full screen mirroring btw, not just on an app by app basis.

Roku Ultra won't play YouTube videos at more than 1x speed without stuttering . I have 2 other roku 4k devices that play youtube videos at 2x without any audio/video stuttering on same network as the Ultra. I also have an ONN 4K pro streamer attached to the same TV on the same network as the Roku Ultra and it has no problems playing YouTube videos at 2x speed.....so, I am thinking this is a hardware issue with this specific device. It is Model 4850X-Ultra; Serial Number: X02800FEATGG; Software version 15.3; Device ID: SOVS35AEATGG; I have only had this for a few months so it's within the warranty period. Please advise. Thanks.

The Roku wireless speakers were working flawlessly. I’ve factory reset the television and speakers. Now the Roku TV can’t find the speakers to pair. Anyone else having this issue?

They look like fake news flashes, targeting people on medicaid, insurance, ect. Is there a place to report these or something?

Nothing is casting anymore I use web video caster and Cassidy neither will cast anything I tried different videos nothing works I rebooted the roku unplugged the router still nothing works

I can put the remote infront of the light and it still doesn't detect anything. This remotes fairly new.

I've had the new Roku device for about a month and it's been freezing up the whole time. At first I thought it was the battery, which it seemed to be on my old device (same) but not this one. The tv volume works fine and never freezes up. Any thoughts?

I've been trying to return a Roku Ultra online but everytime I hit "Return" it simply puts up a blank page labeled Roku Support - Return/Replace. I tried the chat box which simply sends me back to the online returns page again. I called support and got a gentleman who was very nice, but seemed a bit confused. In the end he gave me a support ticket number and said a member of the Returns Team was going to email a return authorization and instructions for returning the UItra.

Two minutes after I hung up I did get an email from Roku Support telling me the ticket had been closed. Nothing from the "Returns Team".

Has anyone ever been able to return one of these within the 30 day window?

Hello, I recently bought a used Roku TV (TCL 55S455) from FB but the remote (RC80) is really bad at staying paired. I’ve noticed that when I reset the TV via the reset button the remote pairs perfectly but right when I connect to my dorms wifi the remote disconnects and does not pair again at all. I tried different batteries, unplugging the TV, and more but still no fix. I can’t use the Roku remote app because I can’t connect to WiFi since the controller disconnecting doesn’t let me continue with signing in. I’m sorry if my explanation is super bad it’s super late and I had a long day. I hope someone is just able to help me

We got Roku sticks for our office to cast our computers too. I have been through the ringer with settings and stuff, it connected yesterday for a few hours and worked fine but not sure why it won't work every time I fire it up. It also disconnects from the internet every time it powers off, etc. Anyone have a fix for a similar issue? Chances are I have tried it but I am at my wit's end with it this morning.

The Plus goes up to 75” and the QLED (their lowest model) goes up to 85”. The better the tv quality the smaller it gets.

I was happily enjoying nearly flawless Miracasting of Windows from my laptop to my Streaming Stick+ (model 3810X), literally for years, when I was seemingly thrown into casting purgatory by a Roku "update" pushed on 10/15/26. Since that update, no more Miracast... no display and no audio cast to the big screen.

Attempting to initiate a session goes most of the way through the motions of connecting - to a point...

• Invoking the cast command presents "Roku Streaming Stick S-913" as an available display,
• clicking the entry starts the expected connection process,
• Roku's regular pear casting logo appears, "Starting video from..." screen appears,
• connection progress bar begins to crawl and moves about 1/3 of the way across the screen,
• laptop screen flashes, indicating addition of a wireless display...
• Connection crashes! Roku connection progress display dumps me back to whatever screen was displayed at the start of the connection attempt.
• Laptop either tells me it's "unable to connect", or simply closes the connection dialog and returns to showing me the Roku Stick, seeming ready to start again.

So close!!! When it worked (i.e., before the "update"), that laptop flash always immediately preceded the extended desktop appearing on the wireless display, and the audio connecting with the TV sound system...

For some reason, right on the brink of a successful connection, the connection now always fails at that last step, disconnect from the laptop, and dumping me back to the starting point.

Attempts to remedy: Rebooted all devices multiple times, reset networks on both devices, rebooted routers, switched to different communications protocols (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and network channels, with/without network QOS... lots of permutations, but with no joy.

If anyone has experienced this same issue, especially if you've found a solution, please comment here... we may not be the only ones, and perhaps someone at Roku will see enough interest here to prompt some attention to the matter on their parts. Any ideas or suggestions from anyone, affected or not, will be greatly appreciated.

I recently got a roku and for some reason the remote does not respond while the stick is plugged into my asus gaming monitor which is where I intend to use my roku. I tried it on my living room tv and it works fine. Do rokus not work with monitors at all?

I can’t help but wonder if the newest one looks better while streaming.

A few hours ago the internet connection suddenly cut out of all three televisions in my house. At first I thought that the internet itself had just gone out for some reason, but every other device in the house was still working fine. When I tried to reset the connection on the Roku I noticed that my wifi network (and only mine) has disappeared from the available networks.

I‘ve reset the Rokus and both the wifi router and modem. Still stuck in the same boat. Does anyone know why this could have happened or what might fix it?

In the latter part of 2025 I purchased a Roku 4K stick model 3830. The batteries that came with the remote were marked "Roku" brand. I realize they don't make them. This stick is one of three or 4 I've gone through over the years. All but the first have been voice remotes. All have had one thing it common, they eat batteries. These batteries lasted a year with what for me is normal use and that is shocking. The replacement alkalines didn't hold up as usual. Anyone have any ideas what came with this Roku?

For anyone with the remote pro rechargeable, how often does it have to be plugged in?
