Hi everyone,

I have a frustrating issue getting BBC iPlayer to work with a Roku Streaming Stick 4K. I open iPlayer sign in, I can view the programmes all OK but when I attempt to stream anything I get 'Error 02050 - Something went wrong..' (Also trailers to do not work when signed in or out)

It was working fine until a few weeks ago, then out of the blue this happened. I have other Roku sticks in the house that work fine, it is just this one with the issue. Also all other internet content works fine on the stick, it's just BBC iPlayer. :/

This is what I have tried:

• Uninstall / Reinstall BBC iPlayer
• Factory reset / update stick etc..
• Try the stick on another TV
• Interestingly when I sign out I still can't view trailers (they give a generic error)
• Restart router / wifi (my firewall rules are all OK for this)

So no matter what I do this stick will not stream any video content at all. I've run out of ideas.. can anyone help?

I noticed awhile back that my 4k streaming stick, purchased in 2023, just... doesn't have the standard Roku City screensaver anymore. I have the seasonal ones (spring, summer, fall, winter), and the other themed non-city ones, but no REGULAR Roku City that they add things to periodically.

It's on the latest version (15.3), so I have no idea what's going on. It used to be there and now it's not. My Roku TV has it, and people still talk about it, so I know it wasn't retired. The Roku City wallpaper is still there, but no screensaver. It doesn't come up if I search for it, either (but the seasonal ones do).

Why would this be missing and, more importantly, how can I get it back?? I miss all the cute things they put on there.

I was going to reach out to Roku directly but I can't find an email address for their support, and I doubt the AI chat bot knows the answer.

I have a Roku Ultra that is about 2 months old. For any YouTube video that is at a speed other than one X the sound stutters . I have talked to Roku support and they refuse to do anything about this. It only happens on the Roku Ultra but not on my Roku 4K Express or Roku 4K in two other televisions . It does not happen on a ONN 4K streamer connected to the same TV. I have reset the Roku ultra, I have cleared the cash, and then everything I can think of but nothing helps . I think this box is defective and I would like someone from Roku to actually address the issue other than blaming it on Google

Well, I guess there was some update. It was already irritating that the * on my Roku stream bar SE couldn't edit the display settings that I was used to (TV has built in Roku I stopped using because it was laggy) that I would get around by using my Roku remote app.

Now the Roku remote app does the same thing. The asterisk only gives me Bluetooth, sound, and accessibility settings.

Why would they get rid of this? I can't turn my display brightness down at night and I cannot see what this accomplished.

So recently 2 apps keep crashing back to the home page after a while, sometimes a longer while. The apps are HGTV Go, and Travel Go. I use the live tv options on this apps. Everything works fine, then it just crashes to Roku Home Screen. Here’s the things I’ve tried

1. Factory reset
   
2. Clear cache
   
3. Uninstall/reinstall the app
   
4. Unplug tv for a while
   
5. Got a whole new tv!

Yes I completely new tv and still the same problem. My WiFi is in the next room over, maybe any slight WiFi drop causes live tv apps to crash?

Every few days subs stop working and I have to reboot my Streambar. Anyone know why this keeps happening?

Turned on my TV today to this. When any input is selected, the picture is blue/purple and has almost no brightness or contrast. When I am on the Roku Home Screen, it’s fine, but any video content I play natively on the Roku does the same thing. I have tried everything the internet/Gemini said to do, although I cannot find any option to completely disable HDR so I can’t confirm it’s an HDR issue for certain.

I have a gigabit connection and excellent WiFi in my home. My Ultra has no issues with other apps. Just installed Britbox (direct, not through Amazon) and it’s painful slow to load all of the video content. Up to 30 of buffering! Anyone else with Britbox have a similar issue?

Is a blinking red light normal on Roku TV?

Got a ton of .mkv files with subtitles but can’t figure out how to get them to show.

Does anyone else have issues where audio for YouTube videos and only YouTube videos are desynced? This is an issue that was previously reported on this subreddit about three months ago but hasn’t been fixed yet. Every video is about a quarter of a second off. Any help from u/Roku_CustomerSupport would be appreciated.

I am logged into the Telemundo and NBC app in the iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, I have already selected as Favorite (Heart symbol) a show, but then there is nowhere to find where the Favorite Shows are located, there is no section Favorites.

After I have started watching a show, when I can back to the app in iOS, iPadOS or tvOS there is nowhere to find a section to Resume the Show

Is the NBC app in the Roku device working as expected regarding Favorites and Resume shows?

I noticed that there’s hella 90210 being watched in my YouTube history. Thought someone had my login so I signed out of all devices but my tv. Then I get home and turn on my tv, and 90210 is actively being played. I HAVE NEVER EVEN WATCHED!!! Then today I noticed multiple Minecraft 3 hr videos in my history, and I go turn on my tv. Again, playing those videos while it’s off!!

I have a Roku stick in a TCL tv and this is only happening recently so what is going on with it? It’s messing up my algorithm terribly lol

My roku onn tv factory reset itself, made me sign back in and what not, now I can't open any apps, except for game consoles. I have tired turning it off and back on multiple times.

All it says when I try and open an app is "can't open app: '[Insert app name here]' could not be run because it could not be reinstalled from network. Please check your network connection and try again" my network connection is fine as far as I know, the tv has been updated, I'm just frustrated I just wanted to watch stuff after a long day at work

I gave my girl my HBO max login so that she can use my account but she’s having an issue. When she goes to click on the HBO MAX app, hoping that it opens up and it will allow her to put in my email and password..this screen pops up asking for a code. We have no idea what code the HBO MAX app is wanting and/or where it could be bc she hasn’t even got to the part where my account would even generate a code for her to plug in BC SHE HASNT EVEN GOT TO THE SIGN IN PAGE. She’s doesn’t have the firestick, like myself..so she’s going through Roku to access HBO MAX. If anyone has some helpful feedback for me that would be very much appreciated🙏🏽

I went to use my device after being away for a few days and suddenly the volume on all inputs/apps is way too loud even when I have it set to 1. I’ve tried restarting, factory resetting, and power cycling, nothing has worked so far. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I’ve only had this tv for about a month :(

All day today, youtube on my Roku TV has been looking like nightmare fuel. I have done just about everything to try to fix it and nothing. So I guess we're gonna be watching YouTube on horror mode. Anyone else have this happening?

I'm sure this has been asked before so forgive me, why isn't Spotify or yours working on my onn Roku tv? It started with YouTube and now it's Spotify too. I have factor rest the tv several times, deleted and redownloaded the apps, tried turning the tv off and on, and used the preset YouTube button. All it does is start to open the app then take me back to the Home Screen. I can't even start them from my phone and cast them to the tv.

I am developing a video calling app which is already in the testing phase for Android TV and I was wondering if the Roku OS supports UVC Webcams so I could port the app over, where those with a TV with USB ports or those with the Roku Ultra could connect a USB UVC webcam to be able to use the app.

I purchased the CNN all access package on my Roku about a week ago. Every two days it reverts back to CNN Headlines and I can’t get to the live. I’ve tried everything, signing out, updating, uninstall (which it won’t let me do). Has anyone else had this issue??? I don’t have a cable provider but it said I didn’t need one, that it was “Now Available”. Thanks!

I’m using a Roku stick on a TCL Google TV. I have my Spectrum cable box plugged into HDMI 1, and the Roku stick into HDMI 2. I’ve tried setting up input switching but it fails; the Roku does not switch or recognize the cable box on HDMI 1. Yes, the TV has CEC enabled. Yes, I’ve tried restarting all devices. Yes, I’ve tried using a different HDMI port for the cable box. Are there any known bugs that could be causing this?
