I just want to shame them because I think it's ugly and stupid to have tape everywhere like this.

Allegedly, Anthony “Tony” Gill is a dangerous person known for aggressive sexual coercion, emotional/physical abuse, cheating and lying. He doesn’t play shows often but will try to play around Ithaca and at grassroots festivals. He is a good conversationalist and has a bit of charm, so he will try to make music connections especially with younger women who don’t know his history.

Help How do I find my daughter on the streets of Rochester?

Post image
708 Upvotes

I saw my daughter on a spectrum news story they did about the homeless. I’ve contacted spectrum and some shelters/outreach places, but I have come up short.

She has no way of getting in touch with me as she doesn’t have my number or address. We’re from Buffalo. I still reside there.

My heart breaks everyday for her. I’m afraid that I may never see her again.

I don’t have a car or I’d be in Rochester at the outreach centers looking for her.

I don’t have the funds or I would hire a private investigator

Any advice?

Fun Like DnD and game shows? Check out ReRoll Live! this Friday!

Hope this is allowed!

ReRoll Live! is a dungeons and dragons inspired live game show. Three comedians will go on an unscripted adventure using dice to determine the outcome of their actions. But if a roll doesn't go their way, they can call for a Reroll. A random audience member comes to the stage and performs a challenge!

And if they do well in the challenge, they'll go home with a prize sponsored by your favorite local businesses.

Think of DnD meets Minute to Win It!

Hosted by Focus Theater downtown.

Bar opens at 6:30, show at 7:00.

Help Midtown Alternatives?

We’ve been members of Midtown for 5 years now, but are getting priced out. Dues have risen 45% in 4 years, so at almost $500 a month for a couples membership it’s getting way out of our budget.

Has anyone found an alternative that offers group classes and weight machines etc? I’ll miss the amenities but the duo classes/lifting is more important.

Not interested in Schottland Y, or planet fitness or anything. Looking for something in the city proper.

This handsome 4 month old grey boy is equal parts cuddly sweetheart & absolute fucking menace.

Opie is a little character who keeps us laughing every single day. Basically he's never met a stranger, a curtain he didn't want to climb, or a chicken nugget he didn't want to steal. He's FULL of energy, endlessly entertaining, & incredibly affectionate. If he's not busy causing chaos, he's guaranteed to be curl up with his people soaking up all the love he can get.

Quick list of fav hobbies:

• swinging from curtains like he pays the mortgage

• grand theft of chicken nuggets

• believing he's just one of the dogs

• wwe kitten smackdown

• greeting his foster parents at the door like he's been waiting his whole life

• YELLING if he doesn't feel he's receiving adequate attention

• champion drawstring chasing

Opies comes to you up to date on vaccinations, neutered, FeLV negative, dewormed& flea treated.

Discussion HOA issue?

• Upvotes

Recently received an HOA violation notice for parking company van in my own driveway. The van is in perfect condition, has no logos or commercial signage, and is parked entirely on my property.

So I decided to take a walk around the neighborhood, and within less than five minutes, I found at least a dozen examples of what appear to be similar violations: vans with ladders and company logos, home trailers, and even a pickup truck with a trailer carrying a riding lawn mower parked along the roadside every night. The owners run a landscaping business in the neighborhood, and I've seen them doing maintenance work around here multiple times. There's even a boat parked right next to the HOA president's house, lol.

According to the HOA rules, a lot of these situations seem like they could be violations too. I have no idea whether these residents have received similar notices, and I'm not trying to get anyone in trouble or cause problems for my neighbors. I'm simply confused about why my van has become an issue when there are so many other vehicles and trailers around the neighborhood.

Has anyone in the Rochester, Henreitta, Greece dealt with something similar? How did you handle it, and what was the eventual outcome? I'm curious about your experiences and any practical advice.

For what it's worth, the HOA president actually seems like a pretty nice person. I've just heard that there's one particular person involved with the HOA who has a reputation for being difficult to deal with. I don't know whether that has anything to do with my situation, though.

I'm not looking to start a fight with anyone or have other residents get in trouble. I just want to understand how to handle what feels like targert enforcement.

Also this rule is such a bullshit

Discussion Did anyone actually want the pedestrian traffic island on Monroe near Culver?

• Upvotes

I saw them working on some repairs there yesterday and it got me thinking. Since it went in, it seems more like a snow plow obstacle than anything useful. Or maybe I am just driving by and don't know the backstory. It doesn't seem like a real active crossing.

Event You rear ended me today…

About 2:30pm. Intersection of 96 and Rowley Rd. Heading into the town. I was surprised. Not that you hit me, but how it happened. I noticed you behind be at the intersection where the Woodcliff entrance is. I noticed you then because you approached the red fast, faster than I expected. Thought you’d hit me then. And then I couldn’t help but notice each red we caught, past the mall, past Walmart, at the bridge. What I didn’t expect was while you didn’t hit me as we were stopping at Rowley Rd.
As we sat there, waiting for the red to turn green. BAM!!! You got me. The look of surprise you had on your face in my rear-view mirror said it all. You looked down at your phone for one second, but also took your foot off the break. I wasn’t surprised. The man in the truck next to me said he’d let us pass so we could pull over and do the thing. I thanked him, pulled forward and put my signal on to pull into Wendy’s or wherever was close. But you didn’t follow. You drove away….. So I pulled back onto the road, several cars behind you. I kept expecting you to realize I was behind you and pull off, but you didn’t, you waited till you realized I was the car behind you, and after you saw me take a picture of your license plate. But even then you quickly pulled(no blinker) into the Dunkin/ Salvatore’s plaza. I couldn’t follow because of the kids crossing the sidewalk.

Anyways…..

I hope you’re ok, I hope your car is ok. My vehicle is fine. As the father of a young kid starting to drive, I just wanted to plead to you, get off the phone. And slow down. This could have been so much worse. I hope this was a wake up call to you.

Well wishes, and safe driving. And put the phone down. It’s not worth it.

To anyone in the know, did Wegman’s discontinue this bread (and the purple one while we’re at it)? I’ve been getting this for the past 10 years and I’d be genuinely crushed (pissed) if this is the case.

The trooper that came and took my report said that she had hit multiple other people and specifically someone else at the south Ave exit on 490west. This took place on 590S and 490W. I'm assuming she had hit someone else and was already running when she hit me by the way she flew up on me. Plate number MCL7285

Does Greenlight suck for anyone else recently? I’ve called, they said no issues on their end, but still sending me a new Modem to see if it helps. Nothing loads when connected to wifi, and when it does it just stops randomly. Frustrating

Recommendation Doctor Recommendations

• Upvotes

Hello! I am moving to ROC in November from the NYC area. My husband grew up in Walworth, his entire family is in ROC, so we are finally moving "home." I am looking for any recommendations that folks have for the following kinds of doctors:

  • Primary Care Provider
  • Dentist
  • Cardiologist
  • OB/GYN
  • Neurologist
  • Endocrinologist

I have had many bad experiences with doctors who just blame all of my issues on my weight or being a woman, and I'm hoping to avoid some of that! I know that there are lots of other factors to consider as well (health insurance, if they're accepting new patients, etc.) but I figure at least by asking here, I have a place to start :)

Alternatively, if you've had a poor experience with a doctor, let me know that as well so I know who I should maybe avoid, haha.

Edit to add: we are moving to Irondequoit
