I’m new to this sub and not even sure if this is the right place to talk about it. My boyfriend’s father passed at 37 under very suspicious circumstances in 2007. For context my boyfriend’s Mom and father were split up at the time but trying to work things out. According to her the night he passed she had spent the whole day with him. They took my boyfriend who was three at the time out together and they spent the day together talking about wanting to work it out and he had asked her to marry him saying he would get all of his shit together for her and that he loved her and wanted to work it out.that night she had let him take my boyfriend to spend the night with him and she would come back in the morning with her decision. Before she went to bed she made up her mind that she loves him and wants to marry him but was going to wait to see him in the morning like she said she would.She got woken up in the middle of the night by frantic calls and text messages telling her to come pick up her son through his phone. She was freaking out and said instantly she knew something was wrong, because it was a woman on the phone. Apparently the roommates girlfriend or something. Saying that she needed to get out of bed and come over to get her son. When she got there, she had found police were there. According to her.The roommate and the girlfriend were acting very weird and they were the ones that found him and my three-year-old boyfriend crying next to his father who was dead. My boyfriend’s mom was beside herself wanting to know what happened, but the roommate and girlfriend had nothing to say saying they just found them like that. When she finally gathers herself enough to take her son with her she left and had called her parents to watch the baby. Once she was alone she went to talk to police and they asked her if the father was in a major car accident because he had major bruising all over his body and chest, she had vouched that he hadn’t any time recently because she had spent the whole day with him and had been keeping in contact with him lately because they were in the middle of trying to figure things out, and that was something he would’ve told her or that she would’ve been there for. The roommate and the girlfriend disappeared after basic questioning, and she never heard from them again she never got answers to what happened to him and wasn’t even able to go to his funeral or her son. They never got full closure for what happened and it’s never sat right with me after hearing the story. I’m sure there’s more to it, but I didn’t want to pry too much. I can try to get more information if this is the right place to post this on? I just have to say something about it he was the one that got away for my boyfriends mom and it really bothers my boyfriend never having closure on what really happened to his father he was so little he can’t remember. According to his mom after it happened, my boyfriend was very afraid of men that he didn’t know and cried to her one time in the car about the people beating daddy. She tried to get more information from him, but he never said anything else and my boyfriend doesn’t remember. This one is low stakes but i am so bamboozled. i will try to keep this short.

-i work from home, and i had to attend a meeting in-office with my CEO on weds afternoon.

-everyone (small company) went out to lunch weds (dine-in) but i couldn't make it, so our office manager called me tuesday and asked if i wanted anything to go while she was placing the pre-order.

-i forgot she was getting me tacos and i ate lunch weds at home (oops) so i brought my bag of tacos home with me to eat for dinner.

-the bag was tied tight in the work fridge and labeled with my name. it was in the fridge for less than an hour before i arrived to the office.

I left my house for about 30 minutes last night. When I came back, I noticed a really weird smell as soon as I walked through the front door. It smelled chemical-like, kind of like paint thinner. I immediately asked my husband if he had been cleaning anything while I was gone but he couldn't smell anything and had no idea what I was talking about.

Our neighbors are currently remodeling their garage. So, naturally, I assumed it was something they were using, maybe paint thinner, solvents, VOCs, or something along those lines. My daughter said she'd noticed a weird smell on her way home from school, and she walks right past their house.

I couldn't actually tell whether the smell was coming from inside or outside. Since I'd been inside most of the day before leaving, I figured I might just not have noticed the smell outdoors until I went out and came back.

We decided to shut all the windows and doors and go to bed, hoping to keep the smell out. Except when we woke up this morning, the smell was about 100 times worse.

Now I'm not so sure it's coming from the neighbors, and I'm trying to figure out what could possibly be causing it. Now I've got the windows open and a fan going, but I can still smell it.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? What would you check first? It's not coming from the vents, I checked. The smell is literally only by the front door and smells worse when I go in or out.

Edit: I just remembered that my hubby had sprayed a wasp nest afew days ago that was growing by the door frame and might have gotten spray on the door. I'm going to wash and wipe down the entire door and frame and see if that helps!

UPDATE: I left to pickup my daughter from school and came back and I could still smell it when I walked in the house. I called the fire department. They walked around my entire house with their sensors, checked my HVAC, the attic, the whole shebang and couldn't find anything.

What's worse is that none of them could smell anything. Then they asked me if I had hit my head recently. Now I'm questioning my own sanity at this point. Hubby is home and still can't smell anything. I'm sure he thinks I'm crazy too, but I'm not alone! My girls both smell it too, whatever it is.

The FD did say it could be a dead rodent somewhere bc they found evidence of a possible entry point but I know the difference between dead animal and paint thinner. Totally different smells.

I've read through all the comments and I don't think it's anything that's been said so far but I'm not sure what my next step should be. Call an electrician? This is driving me insane.

So for the past like 2 days there has been this litterbox/dead animal/absolutely rank ammonia-esque smell that has just completely flooded my house. For reference, we have 2 inside dogs that don’t stink at all, and no cat let alone a litter box. There’s no mice/rats because there’s no droppings to be found. We thought it was our drains becoming dry but no of course it’s not that easy. Truthfully I cannot take it anymore and I need HELP as to what it is and how to fix it. Every time I come back from college I open the front door and get bitch slapped in the face with funk.

This experience has recently bothered me and I don't have a good explanation. I had just locked up the house to leave for work, just before 6.30am. As I turned to walk away to my car I heard the sound of my morning alarm ring out just exactly once. I searched in my bag to find my phone presuming i'd set an additional later alarm by mistake, yet found my phone was not in my bag. I unlocked the door and went back into the house, expecting to hear my phone alarm going off. I found my phone upstairs in the bathroom with no alarm set/ ringing, no alarm noise elsewhere and my partner still sound asleep. The timing of this is a bit weird/lucky as if i hadn't heard ('heard'?) this noise I wouldn't have checked my bag and would have left for work without my phone (I've done this before). However what confuses me more is where the sound was coming from. My alarm is not the default set alarm but is one of the pre-existing android alarms so it is not completely improbable that it was someone else's alarm. However, why was I hearing it out on the street? I don't usually hear anyone elses alarm around that time and none of my neighbours turned on their lights. My wife confirms she heard nothing, but she was asleep. Our bedroom shares a wall with our neighbours bedroom so presumably my partner would have been awoken, as she is a light sleeper. Additionally, the only alarm I've heard come from the neighbours has been when I've been in the bedroom, not outside, and it has been a loud country song, not an android alarm. The time this happened would have been around 6.27-6.28 which is an unusual time for an alarm but some people have their clocks set a couple mins behind I suppose, or just set their alarm not to the nearest half hour. The reason this is bothering me and I haven't dismissed it as a weird co-incidence is that I suffer from mental health problems which have previously messed with my perception of reality, but usually not in this very external auditory way. I also heard what felt like a male shouting right next to my head when I was out on a run a week ago. There was a woman about 30ft away so I suppose it could have been her. I have also been frequently hearing my name mentioned at work then realised it hasn't been said at all. Its all rather confusing and i'm not sure if i'm making a big deal out of nothing and i'm fine.

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this I wasn't sure where else to do it. Basically I've been hearing this weird sound in my house for probably a few years now, maybe two. My bedroom is on the top floor and the sound usually comes from somewhere near my back or right wall, I thought it was maybe from basement at first. Basically I hear this zipper noise kinda like a tent being unzipped. Usually there's like a thump and I hear things moving and shuffling around and then the zipper noise one more time. I haven't been able to record it because it happens randomly and it doesn't happen everyday. I looked it up and Google said it might be an animal nesting in the wall but I wasn't sure.

Hi, I am 20F and a week ago got back from a cabin trip, the next day I noticed a small lock of hair was cut on the top of my head under a small layer of normal length hair.

a few days later i see there is more hair cut from the the same spot. i have no idea what this could be, the hair is cut as if scissors were used and im just not understanding how or why this is happening. i have never had this problem before.

I am not sure what could have caused this, I sleep alone with no pets, i do have extensions but they are no where near the top of my head. my brother and dad who i live with have no idea how this could be happening either. i am also a very light sleeper.

I need some outside perspectives on something that happened to my family.

Yesterday my brother used his scooty nd it was working fine until the evening. He came home nd parked it in our usual parking area, right beside another relative's bike. Let's call this relative A. Later that evening A asked my brother to go out with him but my brother refused. A seemed pretty angry after that nd I could tell from his tone when he left.

The next morning my brother checked his scooty nd found that the front brake cable had been cut. He got it repaired that same day.

What makes this more suspicious to us is that the cut appeared to have been made with a blade, according to what we observed. There was also some brake fluid or oily residue on the ground beneath the area where the cable had been damaged. I'm not sure exactly what the liquid was, but it looked like oil that had dripped from the brake area.

Our parking area is enclosed nd the doors are usually kept closed so we're wondering who could have accessed the vehicles during the night. When my father spoke to our relatives' family about what happened they mentioned that another elder cousin of mine whom I'll call C was the last person to close the door. But honestly we have no reason to suspect C. He's generally a very good person nd I genuinely don't believe he would do something like this. We're not trying to blame him just cuz he closed the door.

A's bike was parked right beside my brother's scooty, but the damage was found on my brother's scooty. We suspect A cuz of the timing nd what happened the previous evening but we have no actual proof. There's also some history behind why we're concerned about him. He has slapped his own father before nd on another occasion he got into a fight with a man in the metro beat him up nd reportedly tried to throw him onto the railway tracks before the police arrived.

Another thing is that we've only recently shifted here. We barely know our neighbours nd they don't really talk to us. Everyone seems to live separately so we don't know who might have noticed anything or whether anyone else had access to the parking area.

I'm not saying A definitely did it but the timing the restricted access nd his past behaviour have made us suspicious. Why would someone cut my brother's brake cable specifically and leave the bike parked beside it untouched? If someone deliberately did this, my brother could have been seriously injured if he had ridden the scooty without noticing.

What do you guys think? Are we right to consider A a possible suspect or are there other explanations we're overlooking? What evidence could help establish what actually happened nd should we report it to the police even though we don't know who did it?

I’m hoping someone here can help me understand a short piece of audio from my Ring camera because the whole situation is bothering me and I can’t make out one of the voices.
My husband and I had just left our house. Very shortly after we left, a girl I have never seen before and do not recognize at all came up to our front door.
What makes the situation feel strange is the timing and her behavior. In the video, she doesn’t just casually walk straight up to the door. She looks hesitant, seems to pause/back away, and then comes back toward the door and tries the handle. From what I can see, she tries to open it once or twice. The door was locked, so she couldn’t get in.
I can clearly hear the girl say:
“I heard them close the door.”
Then she says:
“I’m nervous.”
There is another female voice in the background responding to her, and that is the part I’m really trying to figure out. I can hear that the second person says something, then the girl at the door responds “yeah.” Later, the girl says something like “I can’t open it.”
I’m especially curious about what the second person says right after “I’m nervous” and before the girl says “yeah.”
I’m not trying to accuse anyone of anything, and I’m not saying I know what their intentions were. I just find it odd that this happened right after we left, that the girl seemed hesitant before coming back to try the door, and that she appears to be talking to someone else while doing it.
I also don’t want to post the actual video because the girl appears to be a minor, so I’m only comfortable sharing the audio with no identifying video attached.
I’ve already tried automatic transcription, Whisper, slowing the clip down, boosting the voices, and removing background noise, but the second voice is still really hard for me to understand.
If anyone can listen with headphones and tell me what you think the second person is saying, I’d really appreciate it. Even if you’re not 100% sure, please tell me what it sounds like to you.

Need help identifying an unusual red license plate from video footage

I'm in Bismarck, North Dakota, and dealing with an ongoing custody dispute involving my two children.

Their father recently arrived in a vehicle I didn't recognize, a white Chevrolet Suburban with a completely red rear license plate and white lettering. There was no front plate.

Because of our custody history, I'm documenting the circumstances of this visit. Our attorneys are already involved, and I have since received the address where the children are staying.

I captured video of the vehicle, but the plate is blurry. I've tried extracting and enhancing frames without successfully identifying the state.

I'm hoping someone familiar with license plate designs can help determine:

- Which states issue solid-red plates with white lettering?

- Could this be a dealer, specialty, or temporary plate?

- Are there any distinguishing design features that could help identify the plate type?

I'm not asking anyone to identify or contact the driver or vehicle owner. I'm just trying to establish what kind of plate appears in the footage.

My mum Evita Sarma (Latvian citizen) has been missing from Gyron port (Tibet side), since the floods on the 26th of August.

At this point i am running out of options, so I'm reaching out to you dear Reddit users.

Based on the last photo that my mum sent me, she just cleared the Border about 3 min before floods hit. I have contacted the Latvian ministry of foreign affairs, Chinese embassy in Latvia and support phone line that was set up for international queries.

I do understand that chances are astronomically low, but until I'll get concrete information I will be still keeping hope and praying for the miracle.

My biggest problem is that last information about what's going on (in terms of rescue work) was on the 7th of September.

If you know anything current like hospitals rescued people have been transported to, agencies to contact, statistics or anything else, I would be endlessly thankful.

I really need your help. My mum is the dearest person to my ever and only family i have. We always been close and I miss her so, so much.

So im not really sure when this happened but i assume it was when i was at school.

This morning i left at 6:30 and i came home at 2:40. The front door is always unlocked (unless someone is home to lock it from the inside) because we lost our key about 4 years ago and my mom is just lazy to replace it. We also live in a very small apartment.

When i got home i closed all of the doors in the house for my new kitten to explore. I didnt really notice the missing tv in my moms room. I also didn't think much of it because my own room (where the kitten was) was closed as i had left it and he was on my mind the most. The whole day i was unaware until my mom came home and asked me where the tv was.

We were both shocked. We checked everything. And we found a dirty dell laptop on her bed that was NOT ours. And a taser/lighter(?) thing on her bed and a pack of opened toilet paper on the floor that was also NOT OURS. The tv MISSING!! The tv was pretty big too. Like maybe 40 inches or 60?

i also have a tv in my room. And it's about 3 feet long, i feel that wouldve been more easy to carry? It baffles me, really. You just take a big ass tv?

The strange part is, there was 300 dollars out in the open in my moms room and the burglar didnt even take it. Unless they didnt notice it which is a possibility. Im just really scared, concerned, and confused. Why? Im so glad they didnt come into my room and touch the cat though.

Edit: Also I'll have to mention i did tell my mom to file a police report and to contact the landlord for a key and she really has no sense of urgency because she keeps telling me no and to "shut the fuck up" shes pretty ignorant when stressed so i feel pretty powerless...shes refusing to file a report because "what are they gonna do?" As she says. And the mention of contacting the landlord, she gives a pretty vague dismissive,"I'll just handle it" yeah makes me feel prettyy safe and secure, mom. Thanks 😶

On Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at approximately 7:05 AM, my friend, Philip Chon, was riding his yellow 2019 Honda Monkey motorcycle on his way to work when he was struck and killed at the intersection of Ventura Blvd and Carpenter Ave, Studio City, CA.

The driver was in a dark blue 2004 Honda Odyssey traveling westbound on Ventura. They made an unprotected left turn onto Carpenter Ave, struck Philip, abandoned the van on Carpenter Ave south of Ventura (which investigators have impounded), and fled on foot. 

Despite being in possession of the suspect’s vehicle, police have not publicly released the license plate number or identified who the vehicle is registered. They are, however, seeking the public’s help with identifying the suspect responsible for this fatal accident (knowing who the vehicle is registered to doesn’t necessarily prove that they were the one driving it; police need actual evidence of the person behind the wheel).

If you live, work, or drive along Ventura Blvd, Carpenter Ave, or surrounding streets/access points, please check your Ring cameras, home or business security cameras, and dashcams for footage from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM on September 22.

Footage of the van before the collision or someone fleeing on foot afterward could help. Even if you don't think your video has anything important in it.

Some camera systems automatically delete old recordings, so please save anything relevant in case it gets overwritten.

UPDATE: I saw a neurologist today.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their experiences and thoughtful suggestions. I had an extensive consultation with a neurologist today. He carefully went through the entire incident with me, including what happened before, during, and afterward. His assessment was very reassuring. After taking a detailed history and performing a thorough neurological examination, he found no clinical evidence suggesting dementia, hallucinations, or other serious neurological or vascular conditions he had initially considered, including impaired blood flow to the brain. He explained why my experience and examination findings did not fit those conditions, and he did not consider additional diagnostic testing necessary at this time.

After discussing my circumstances in depth, he concluded that I am experiencing depression in the context of significant ongoing emotional stress. He recommended psychological treatment and asked me to follow up with him in 15 days. I realize now that the amount of anxiety and uncertainty I've been carrying may be affecting me more than I understood.

My neurologist also explained how this episode could be consistent with depression, particularly in the context of prolonged emotional stress and fragmented, non-restorative sleep. He emphasized that sleeping for several hours does not necessarily mean getting adequate, restorative rest, and that poor sleep quality, combined with depression, can affect cognitive functioning, attention, and perception. Based on his thorough assessment, he felt that these factors provided a plausible explanation for what I experienced.

I'm grateful to those who responded with kindness and empathy. I'm going to focus on getting the support I need rather than continuing to search for explanations online.Thank you again!

I'm posting this here because I'm genuinely freaked out, and I'm hoping someone has experienced something similar or can offer a rational explanation. I'm a 54-year-old woman, I have health anxiety and my brain has a spectacular talent for jumping straight to the worst possible medical explanation, so I really need to understand what happened to me.

Yesterday, I was at a supermarket doing some grocery shopping. I'd already walked quite a bit (over 10,000 steps), exercised earlier that day and hadn't eaten much. I was tired and my head felt a little heavy, but otherwise completely alert, functioning normally and having perfectly coherent conversations.

My husband and I were communicating through WhatsApp while I shopped, mostly voice messages and pictures, with a few short written messages here and there.

At one point, while I was waiting outside for a taxi, I looked at our WhatsApp conversation and clearly read a message from him saying, "Are you still at XXXXXXX?" Except he was referring to a completely different supermarket, not the one I was shopping at.

I remember thinking, Why on earth is this man asking me such a stupid question? He knows exactly where I am! He had even asked me to buy some croissants that are only sold at the grocery store I was shopping at. So I answered him with a slightly irritated voice message.

This is the part where things get really weird: my husband replied with a confused voice message asking what the hell I was talking about. He assured me he hadn't written anything like that. And then I noticed that the message I had just read was GONE. Not deleted with a "This message was deleted" notice, but gone.I searched our entire WhatsApp conversation, no such message.

I was completely baffled.

I didn't just vaguely think I saw something. I remember reading those exact words, understanding them, getting annoyed, and recording a voice message in response, timestamped at 1:34 p.m. There's a spot in the conversation where I remember seeing his message, immediately before my reply.

After going through our WhatsApp conversation obsessively, both on my phone and on my laptop, I discovered that my husband had asked me whether I was at that other supermarket on a couple of occasions months earlier, except on those occasions I was indeed shopping there. The crucial distinction is that he used different wording.

The exact sentence I remember seeing yesterday does not appear anywhere in our conversation history. So when I say the message didn't exist, I don't mean that I accidentally stumbled upon an old message and mistook it for a new one. There is no old message with that exact wording to begin with.

Did my brain somehow construct a perfectly plausible sentence in my husband's writing style and make me perceive it as an actual WhatsApp message? Because if that's what happened, I would really like to know how something like that is even possible. I'm not ruling out a technical explanation either. But simply saying WhatsApp displayed an old message doesn't explain the different wording.

A few minutes after the incident, while riding home in a cab, I also experienced some mild, short-lived nausea. I hadn't eaten properly in hours, had been physically active for much of the day and may not have been adequately hydrated. I have no idea whether the nausea was related to what happened or was just a coincidence.For context, I have a history of dizziness, tinnitus, vestibular issues and cervical problems. I've also been under considerable emotional stress lately, but I have never experienced anything like this before.

I saw a doctor later that day. She performed a neurological examination, found nothing concerning, and wasn't particularly alarmed by this isolated incident. I also contacted a neurologist who said it wasn't an emergency but should be investigated. I have an appointment with him this morning. That's how freaked out I am.

Meanwhile, my health-anxious brain has been enthusiastically cycling through everything from exhaustion and some bizarre memory glitch to hallucinations, a mini-stroke, or early dementia.

Has anyone ever experienced something like this? Not just a disappearing notification, but actually seeing a specific written message inside an ongoing chat, responding to it, and then discovering that it apparently never existed? Could a visual or memory-processing error create such a convincing experience?

So i rarely get calls from private numbers the last time was one instance in spring.

But now on monday a private number called me two times in under a Minute waited 7 Minutes and called again. I misses the calls. Which is strange and from that pattern i excluded a bot or some institution.

Today (2 days later) again a private number calls me, i pick it up say hello? And they hang up after 2 seconds.

Okay so I was really bored while studying and ended up going down rabbit holes, which led to me looking at missing persons cases in my province, where I found this guy. He's called Emile Ruger on crimesolverscentral, with little/no details about his dissapearance and a very uncanny police sketch in place of a photograph.

Here's what the profile says:

- On the 15th of February 2008, a man named Emile Ruger was last seen in Cornwall, Ontario

- Quoting the website; "His dissapearance has left a void of information and a lingering sense of unease for those who knew him", and "Details surrounding his last known moments are sparse, painting a picture of a man who seemingly vanished without a trace" -> the entire article is written like this, giving next to no actual information

- about 5'8/70 inches tall, white, male, 170 pounds, 60 years old

- last updated 9/18/26 which is wierdly recent for a cold case from 2008

I don't have the membership so I could only read so far in the article, so that's just what I noticed without it. Someone in a forum comment seems to mention his 'schedule', but I can't find access the full comment without a membership and I can't find any mention of a schedule anywhere.

I checked the article's sources and they provided some further information:

This article seems really wierd to me, specifically the phrasing, and how it seems to be written like it's trying to sensationalise the case instead of provide any real information. Also, the police sketch also seems odd to me. In 2008, nobody had a single photo of this guy? No family photos cropped to show just him, No old photos, no security camera shots, just an exaggerated police sketch that makes him look like a John Doe recreation or criminal?

Now I'm curious, is there anywhere I could go to maybe find more information on this guy? And does anyone have any possible explanations for any of the stuff I mentioned? I'm not really in the Cold-case-investigating scene so I don't really know how to go about this. I've just heard this sub was good for this. Thanks for any help!

I’m hoping to get some perspectives on an unusual incident. I’m not looking for relationship advice; I’d like to understand what might explain what I found and possible theories.

My husband and I separated few months ago. We are still legally married (we have to be separated for 12 months), and we jointly own our former family home, which is being sold. He moved immediately after separation with his gf.

Despite moving out, he continues to enter the house using his own key. His visits are unpredictable and usually brief. We no longer communicate, and I avoid interacting with him.

There is also some important context: his previous behaviour has been serious enough that police have sought restraining orders but they have not yet been served.

During his most recent visit, he put a box containing rubbish in the recycling bin.

I later checked the box because I needed it for something else. Is when I discovered a syringe and two needles.

Syringe: 3 mL (3 cc) capacity.
Needle 1: Orange-labelled, 25G.
Needle 2: Brown-labelled, 19G.

I was shocked because I had no idea why these items would be there. Could only be his, no one else enter to the house. No children.

He had been at the house for 20 minutes and spent most of that time in the bathroom. He also went into the kitchen twice.
I don’t know whether he has left similar items in the rubbish on previous visits because I don’t normally check!
Could not find any medication or any substance. I think he took it with him. I searched everywhere.
If it was medicine, why he didn’t do it at his gf home? Why he came here to do that?!

Could these items have an ordinary medical explanation? Could they be associated with recreational drug use, or are there other plausible explanations?

Given the circumstances, I briefly worried about whether he could have tampered with my food when he entered the kitchen. I have no evidence that he did so! and I don’t want to be paranoid but crossed my mind. But because of the past DV, I’m kinda concerned.

Any thoughts?

A few years ago, a couple who looked to be in their early 30s moved into a large, four bedroom house in our quiet cul-de-sac. The previous owner, who we know well, told us the couple had bought the house outright in cash. Their adult son independently mentioned the same thing a couple of weeks later, without knowing we’d already heard it from his father. As I understand it, the couple’s offer was also attractive because they had no property chain.

The new owners very much kept to themselves and never interacted with neighbours, which nobody really minded, it was just noticeable. Over the following months though, unusual activity became a bit too obvious to ignore.

There was a constant stream of visitors arriving in very expensive cars, with three or four different vehicles appearing on the driveway daily, and a different selection the next day. The owners also regularly drove different cars. Visitors arrived at all hours, including through the night. Noticeable due to exhaust and car door sounds, but I am a very light sleeper. Some let themselves in with keys and stayed briefly, others appeared to exchange something with the male owner before leaving. He would also frequently move boxes and gym equipment between the house and garage at odd hours. Possibly unrelated but appeared odd nonetheless. The activity was noticed and mentioned by several other people, including a family friend who stayed with us for a week, and multiple neighbours.

Edit: My sibling just recalled us discussing how we often used to comment on their windows being left wide open and off their hinges, for hours on end including through the night, and lights in the house remaining on for days on end. Again, maybe unrelated, just odd!

After about a year, the couple packed suitcases into a car one evening and left, presumably for a holiday. A few hours later, their house was raided at dawn.

Multiple unmarked vehicles arrived, and officers in all black clothing and protective vests surrounded the property, also blocking access to and from the cul-de-sac. I couldn’t clearly identify the agency. The operation lasted several hours, and a large number of boxes were removed from the house and garage. I couldn’t see what they contained.

The couple returned from their trip during a low-key street party and went straight inside. Nobody mentioned the raid.

Immediately afterwards, all the unusual activity stopped. No more daytime or late-night visitors, no revolving door of expensive cars. They switched to only driving one car each, which remained the same.

In the months that followed, beginning quite quickly after their return, they became much friendlier with the neighbours, joining in with a later street party and chatting regularly, asking for advice etc. They’re now settled with children and a dog, and I’m friendly with them myself. Nobody ever found out what happened.

I’m absolutely not accusing them of anything, and of course won’t be identifying them. I’m genuinely curious about what might have happened. I have a few theories of my own, though they may be way off, and I’m interested in hearing from people with more knowledge or experience of these kinds of raids.

Has anyone encountered anything similar or has any informed theories about what could explain the unusual activity, the raid and the immediate end to it all?

Looking for a missing friend of the family.

Statistically, we know he is most likely not alive but have been searching IRL and online as much as possible to try to rule out the more remote possibility that he may be living his best life somewhere, either with dementia/amnesia or having chosen to walk away.

Also looking for court records related to him and his family.

What resources do you use?

I recorded this in the middle of the night in my bedroom. I hear it often through out the night. It sounds like it's coming from the next room but I don't hear it when I go in there.

Almost sounds like a crappy police scanner? Sounds robotic and garbled...

Greetings from San Antonio. The local University Hospital reaching out to our local area about a man they can't identify that was hit on one of the highways in the area and is in critical condition. He's been unconscious for 6 days. No one has stepped forward, so I am attempting to get this in front of more eyes.

"The man is believed to be in his 30s or 40s, about 5 feet tall and 160 pounds. He has no scars or tattoos and had no belongings with him, according to the hospital."

On July 9, 2026, two healthy, well-groomed dogs were found alone at Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades. A beach bag with a swimsuit, dog food and a sunshade was found in a nearby restroom. An eyewitness reported seeing a woman with these dogs in that restroom.

A month later she has not been identified. LAPD's Missing Persons Unit is investigating under Report #26148091. The story has aired locally in Los Angeles but never nationally - and the person who recognizes her may not live in California.
