Pretty cool story that I totally missed. Never forget him serving me a cheesesteak in 2012ish when he was guest-working at Jim's for a day!

SUMMARY: Philadelphia Union (13-10-6, 45 pts, #6 in the East) welcomes visiting Charlotte FC (13-9-7, 46 pts, #5 in the East) in a game in which one or both teams can clinch a playoff spot. After beating the Chicago Fire 3-1 on Wednesday, with two goals from Bruno Damiani and one goal from Milan Iloski, the Union, unbeaten in 14 straight matches, became just the third team in the league's post-shootout era to win eight matches in a row. One more victory would tie the record of nine consecutive wins, achieved by Charlotte FC in 2025 and the Seattle Sounders in 2018. Charlotte is 2-2-1 in their last five games and is coming off a 3-1 road loss to Columbus. In 10 head-to-head matches across all competitions, the two franchises are tied with four wins, four losses, and two draws. Charlotte won the last meeting 2-1 earlier this season.

UNAVAILABLE LIST: After giving up on smoking (“Yes, sir, dude, 'twas too much work”, he said), Raquinho (PHL) traded nicotine for binoculars and now proudly calls himself a birder and a lister. He purchased a sketchy, second-hand minivan and is currently crisscrossing the United States on an epic pilgrimage to spot a single, elusive ferruginous pygmy owl (“I’d run through a brick wall for that bird”, he claims). Completely consumed by his new competitive birdwatching hobby bordering on obsession, he can be heard screaming “NEW LI-FERRRRRRR!” at random shrubs several times a day and insists that 2026 will be his absolute “BIG YEAR”. Do you remember...

Does anyone else remember when we would cringe when the other team got a red card, because we absolutely could not unlock a low block. We could not score even when we were up a man because we lacked the creativity to create when we had the posession. If we weren't pressing then we weren't scoring.

This is a brand new world, and I am here for it. #DOOP

When I am wrong I'll admit it - and boy was I wrong

Right before the World Cup Break, I was questioning why we weren't benching Damiani.

I was wrong, very, very, very wrong. Boy, oh boy, was I wrong. And I'll happily admit that I was wrong too!

Bruno just needed time and perhaps a new coach and the likes of the Sullivan Brothers and Wagner to set up some goal shots. What a turnaround for Bruno from the first half of the season until now.

[MLS Communications] By providing his 14th assist of the season tonight, the Philadelphia Union's Cavan Sullivan set the MLS record for the most goal contributions by a teenager in a season in league history with 21, eclipsing Diego Fagundez (20 in 2013).

Any idea what the hold up is on Richter???

Here is the current crop of coaches in Philly... Sirianni and the Eagles look mid af this year (last year wasn't much better). Interim Mattingly and the Phils got eliminated on the first day of "Red October" and he still got the job. Tocchet is winless and the Flyers are ranked dead last in offense thru 8 games. Nurse's Sixers got swept in the playoffs last year.

Our boy Richter is the only coach in Philly actually stringing together W's yet he's the only one without a permanent contract... Sooooo what, are they actually going to consider anyone else for the job?? Or is there something odd going on behind the scenes like maybe Richters gambling on a cup run before he negotiates a deal? Not sure what other reasons there could be, this is clearly our guy with this group of players.

USWNT vs Spain at the Soob

If anyone was at the US vs Spain women’s match last night… I was very surprised to see how many people were there. It was packed. And a lot of fun.

With Gotham FC moving to queens in 2028 this finally creates a huge opportunity.

The Philadelphia Union needs to step up and create women’s team to play in the NWSL. It’s a chance to continue to pioneer soccer in the US and be the first MLS club to name their women’s team identically to their men’s team. (Houston, Orlando, RSL, and Portland already have women’s teams).

Tonight we level up, in real time, yet again. We're on the road, midweek, against a good team with ever increasing stakes.

We live for this shit.

Not only do we belong in this tier, we have everything we could possibly need to dominate this level on our way to a title. You can't spell "deal a whoopin" without DOOP 💪 and tonight we remind everybody.that it's not empty hype.
