Lonely, Burnt Out, and Ready for a Change. What Can I Do?
I work out regularly, mainly lifting weights and doing cardio, and I eat healthily, with the occasional sweet treat.
I recently lost my job, live far away from family, and haven’t been in a relationship for years. I don’t really have friends anymore, as I’m tired of people cancelling plans at the last minute, arriving late, or making it unnecessarily difficult to decide where to go. Most of my female friends are also quite stingy and seem to expect others to pay.
I’m starting to feel genuinely lonely, and I think I need companionship.
I’m fit, smart, and kind. I enjoy concerts, the beach, deep conversations, and spending time in nature. But lately, I haven’t felt like myself. I feel burnt out from constantly pushing myself too hard, to the point of feeling completely depleted. I barely recognise myself anymore.
I’m independent, keep my home spotless, and cook my own meals, but I’m starting to wonder what else I can do to bring some joy and connection back into my life.
I hate dating apps, so please don’t recommend them. I’d genuinely appreciate practical suggestions.
