META (Subreddit Related) Community Idea: Challenge Run Series
Happy Sunday, fam!
tl;dr, How would we, as a community, feel about hosting regular "Challenge Runs" in games for kicks, giggles, fun stories, and bragging rights?
--
From launch I've always envisioned having regular events, competitions, and challenges for the community. Up to now we hadn't really done anything like that on this sub, but the launch of Splatoon Raiders reignited that idea for me and I thought I'd open a dialogue with all of you to see how we feel about it, how we'd want it executed, and what, if any, rewards or incentives we would like to see from these kinds of things.
I think it's normal to see these kinds of events hosted in specific game subreddits, and as we are a general subreddit for the Switch 2, not everyone will own every new release of a game that participates here. In my opinion it could be a really neat way to have fun together, generate some fun and interesting screenshots and clips, and make for some cool stories along the way.
An example idea for Splatoon Raiders might be a Single Tank Run, Single Weapon Run, an Iron Ink run (how far can you get in one sitting), and/or a Nuzlocke-style Run (single life, no getting splatted!).
As these would be for fun, there'd be a certain element of Honor System for the submissions, though it's something I'd definitely love to hear some feedback on from others who have run these sorts of events in the past.
So what do we think? Could something like this be fun for the community here? Is this something that should be kept more for the game-specific subs? What kind of rewards would you want if we did this? Any other thoughts or ideas?
Thanks for the time, everyone!

Media (Image, Video, etc.) I took my Switch on many flights over the years, but playing Elden Ring at 30,000 ft just hits different
I'm a bit of a nervous flyer and from the moment I got it the original Switch was a really excellent device for me as playing games is a nice absorbing activity to take your mind off things and I've played many, many games on flights over the years.
However, on this most recent flight, being able to bring full fat Elden Ring out my bag and start riding around on Torrent from exactly where I left off in my living room just really hit different to all those other occasions. Like, I know we're all somewhat used to it by now, but seriously, this is just such an insane thing to be able to do.
(Also, for anyone on the fence about Elden Ring - just get it. Try it. I'd never played a Fromsoft game before in my life and it's incredible.)

Discussion 39gb update already for modern warfare 4
Heads up, just tried to play again this morning and there is a 39gb update, I already had to remove most of my games to Install the game, now I have to remove even more for an update a day after release, you will always need to keep a considerable amount of free space available for this game

Discussion Capcom - What is their best Switch 2 port so far?
Capcom has been killing it. Every time they release a new port I say, "Man, this is their best port yet." and I have to ask - Reddit, what is the best Capcom port right now?
The List
- Street Fighter 6 – Released June 5, 2025
- Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess – Released November 18, 2025
- Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition – Released June 23, 2026
- Onimusha: Way of the Sword – Released September 4, 2026
- Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen – Released October 9, 2026
- Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition – Released October 16, 2026
- Resident Evil 3 – Released October 16, 2026
- Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition – Released October 16, 2026
- Monster Hunter Wilds – Scheduled for December 4, 2026
- Resident Evil Requiem – Released February 27, 2026
- Pragmata – Released April 17, 2026
Including MH Wilds because it's impressive and we have a demo for it.
Right now my vote would go to Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. I just think that a game that was supposedly going to melt the Switch 2 running a good resolution 35-50 FPS with a FrameGen option that actually feels really good to me impresses me the most so far. MHW is also impressive as hell. However, seeing DD2 just running at a smooth 60 FPS is still unbelievable even after putting 60 hours into it.
Note - I wanted to make this a poll, but either this sub doesn't allow polls, or I'm too dumb to figure it out.

Discussion Whoa, COD MW4 looks amazing on S2
Ok I'm blown away how good the game looks. It's a huge improvement over the beta!
I got DLSS on, Motion-Blur off and sharpening on.
The Beta really didn't do its justice and I think many people now think it still looks like it when it's totally not the case.
Multiplayer looks insanely good on this device, not sure if it's because the new DLSS or what but huge quality improvement.

Media (Image, Video, etc.) Robin Williams and daughter Zelda talk about their love for OOT.
Wow, I didn’t know he named his daughter Zelda! So cool, he was my favorite actor and I miss him. RIP. Apologies if this is well-known news, but I am so excited for the ocarina of time remake as I didn’t get a chance to play it as a kid like everyone else. So this video is news to me!

Discussion This is the only handheld that actually drops my jaw with the games it runs. Feels like it came from the future lol. Makes me feel like an old man seeing a lightbulb
I can't be the only one that is in awe at seeing some of these brand new games run at 60 fps on a handheld, let alone a Nintendo handheld that's not gigantic. I'm literally in awe holding this in my hands with it running MW4 at 60fps. This console is like magic and it makes me feel like I'm actually gaming in the future lol

Speculation 99.7GB?
I see a lot of peoples are at 120 or higher. I’m able to play DMZ/Campaign just fine and there’s no options to download anything besides other languages.
UPDATE: Still 99.7 with everything downloaded and playable! I wonder if some people still have the beta downloaded and don’t know or what’s happening. (10/23/26)

Discussion Resident Evil Haptic Feedback
Tried them all and I gotta say, only re9 has great joycon haptic feedback and for the rest of all of them, very bland, tickles in the bad way. I'm very disappointed in whoever decided not to put in effort. I'd expect at least re4r would have great haptic feedback too.
