Went to Taleju Bhawani this Nawami. Here are my thoughts.
I have visited Taleju several times before, but this time, something deeply hurt me.
After standing in a queue for more than four hours, I finally got my turn to worship. I was returning with a peaceful heart when I saw something that I couldn't get out of my mind.
There were around 50 calves, probably just a month old. I looked at the priests performing puja, preparing to offer these little souls to God. I wanted to ask them something, but I couldn't gather the courage to speak.
"Will God really be happy with this? Are you sure this is what God wants?"
Guys, those calves were so thin that I could almost count their bones. They looked weak and helpless, as if they hadn't eaten properly for days. They couldn't speak for themselves. They couldn't ask for food. They couldn't even understand what was about to happen to them.
And the saddest part? It seemed like nobody cared.
We go to temples seeking blessings, peace, and happiness. We fold our hands before God, asking for mercy and protection. But what about these innocent lives? Don't they deserve mercy, too?
I know many people are raising their voices against animal sacrifice. But I also understand that changing a deeply rooted cultural and religious practice isn't easy. Simply demanding an end to it may create resistance rather than meaningful change.
So, what can we do?
My opinion is that, alongside raising awareness, we need proper laws and strict enforcement to prevent animal cruelty and unnecessary suffering. If animals are being kept hungry, neglected, or subjected to cruel treatment, those responsible must be held accountable. Their suffering shouldn't be ignored just because it's happening in the name of tradition.
I'm not saying this to disrespect anyone's faith or beliefs. I'm saying this because I cannot understand how compassion for living beings can be separated from our prayers to God.
We may have different beliefs, traditions, and ways of worshipping. But surely, kindness should be something we all understand.
If we pray to God for mercy, shouldn't we be willing to show mercy to the helpless, too?

Just felt cheated by Himalayan Java
I am no fan of Himalayan Java coffee, since my dad requested Americano and I brought this one for my dad. They charge me 270 for this single shot Americano. As far as I remember last time it took 170-200. The server did not even aware me about the the ncell x Himalayan java partnership or some frking thing going on. After some few search I came to know about it. It is infuriating as a customer to not get information about such shitty campaign and directly charge them x amount. Last time the same behavior was done by the Khalti where without consent users debit card subscription was enabled. What a shitty thing to do. If someone from Himalayan Java is seeing this, fck Himalayan Java and ur shitty campaign which I don't give a 2 fcks Abt. Right to information is a joke in Nepal.

Nepal Birthday Calendar confusion.
Hello everyone, I'm not sure if this is relevant but, I'm just confused about the birth calendar in Nepal.
I have made a friend in Nepal, we have been talking for almost a year now, but when he told me about his birthday I got confused. You see, in his Nepal citizenship act 2006, it was written ("date of birth (AD): YEAR: 2009, MONTH: 1 DAY: 12")
but he said he was born in 2007, and also they celebrate his birthday on July 12. He didn't explain it in more detail so I got confused.
I'm aware of "BS" in nepal but I'm still confused... anyone who can explain it more in detail?

False Information stated by a company
Esso Bhatbhateni ma hidiratheyea and came across this buff sausage and macros heresi I didnt think twice. Liye maile ani ghar aayesi chai esso bichar garey. Macros is pretty unrealistic esma.
100g ko serving ma 29g protein cha yo sausage ma which is Crazy.
Ekdam babal protein meat i.e chicken breast 100g ma 31g huncha so its safe to say buff sausage ma yo protein realistic chaina cause buff ma max 23g protein huncha per 100g. Ingredients ma ni secondary protein kei stated chaina.
Estai estai kura le ta mero protein khayera body banayera hero huney sapana dubauney vo
So question is deliberately kunai company le esari false information print hanera majale kaile samma bechna paune ho, kata vanda actual investigation garincha.

“Is Nepal Missing a Hobby Culture?”
I'm currently abroad doing my master's, and every time a new semester starts, there's this one thing I absolutely hate: introducing myself and talking about my hobbies.
Everyone from different countries seems to have something interesting to say. Some play instruments, some do photography, some paint, hike, play sports, etc.
And then there's me and my Nepali friends. We literally have nothing to say except watching movies, listening to music, or sleeping lol.
It's honestly embarrassing sometimes. And it made me wonder why we're like this. Is it because of how we grew up? I feel like back in Nepal, our whole life was just school, homework, exams, and trying to get good grades. Nobody really cared about hobbies, and we never bothered exploring them either.
Now I'm in my mid-20s and realizing I don't really have anything I genuinely enjoy doing or am good at outside of studying and scrolling through my phone.
So I'm curious, is this a common thing among Nepalis, or is it just my circle? Do you guys think our upbringing has something to do with it?
Also, please suggest some cheap hobbies I can start now as a broke international student. I genuinely want to pick up something interesting and stick with it.
I don't want to be sitting in class next semester saying my hobby is watching Netflix again 😭

Rant/गुनासो A Nepali should be allowed to invest abroad
The current law, Act Restricting Investment Abroad (ARIA), 1964, does not allow us to invest abroad. This seems like a stupid blanket ban, like everything else our lawmakers have done.
It is especially painful for entrepreneurs like myself. You're not allowed to start a company abroad and are thus restricted by our incompetent institutions.
Here are the major issues I've faced while running a business:
1. Accepting international payments properly is a nightmare. I don't want to pay exorbitant fees or start a company under my friend's name abroad. Why can't I accept Stripe like every fucking business on the planet?
2. Spending money abroad. Businesses need to spend to grow. This is basic fucking economics. If you want us to look outwards, let us buy fucking tractors instead of handing us kodalos. You just cannot send sufficient money abroad from Nepal, even if you've earned that money from outside. You and your businesses are handicap of your own fate.
3. I've tried some enterprise stuff, and people just don't trust a Nepali company. We simply don't have good enough institutions to legally support large-scale modern IT businesses.
I've been a victim of this for the last 2–3 years. I know every way people get around this, but it's all a grey zone, and you cannot build a large company on grey regulations. I personally don't have that kind of legal risk appetite.
I understand that there are recent regulations for IT exporting companies, but I don't want to hire a 2 lakh lawyer and get a meeting with the deputy governor just to invest $100 in a new LLC.
This new government is slow af with legislation. This government just doesn't have the guts to make radical policy decisions. Whatever you say about the KP Sharma government, the Dollar Card was a gutsy and liberal decision that opened up a huge international consumer market for Nepalis. It made it very easy, especially for young IT professionals, to do things, experiment, and create.
I know the new payments bill is in the pipeline, but even if it passes, I don't think it will wholly solve the issues faced by internationally facing entrepreneurs and businesses. And even that will probably take forever.
Why not start with a $500 cap for all Nepalis to invest abroad, which you can also spend through your Dollar Card?
We already have $26B in foreign reserves, which gives us 17 months of import cover. By regulations, we only need 7 months. Even if every Nepali invested $500 abroad, we would only have spent $15B, and I suspect less than 1% of Nepalis would actually invest abroad.
And this could potentially bring huge benefits to the economy.
At this point, this is just a nuisance and an excuse.

Help/सहयोग Suggestions: POKHARA with the Fiancee
I’m heading to Pokhara soon with my fiancee yaayyy. November 2nd Week
I could use some recommendations from those who know the area well. Here is what I’m looking for:
Accommodation (Budget: 3,000 to 10,000 NP): Looking for something clean, comfortable, and ideally somewhere around Lakeside with good vibes. Any boutique hotels or cozy spots that offer great value within this range?
Paragliding: We want to go paragliding and are looking for a reliable company that takes great quality photos and videos (GoPro/action cams included in the package) while prioritizing safety. Any specific operators you’ve had a great experience with?
Drinks & Nightlife: We want to head out for a few drinks one evening—somewhere with a nice atmosphere, good music, and great cocktails or local beers.
Food: Good food recommendations ^ Majhikuna Fish?

Ok guys I own rtr 200 4v and I have to do servicing of bike this week.

Now due to dashai I am lil tight on money so I can't afford 2500 for engine oil alone as I have to replace some other parts too. What affordable options are there for 10W30 1.2 litres?

Question/प्रश्न Looking for a laptop under NPR 150,000 — need recommendations
Hey everyone! I’m looking to buy a new laptop with a budget of around NPR 150,000 (roughly QAR 3,600), and I’d appreciate some genuine recommendations.
My main priorities are:
Good battery life with minimal performance loss when unplugged.
Premium build quality and a sleek, lightweight design.
A 15–16 inch display with good colours and sharp resolution.
Fast performance for multitasking, programming, AI and robotics-related projects.
At least 16 GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD, preferably 1 TB.
Good long-term reliability and thermals.
I’m open to both Windows laptops and MacBooks, as long as they offer good value for money. I’d prefer a brand-new laptop.
What would you recommend in this budget? Especially interested in real-world battery life and performance on battery versus when plugged in. If you own any of these laptops, please share your experience!

Mildly used A-level CompSci book and blank paper 2 past papers available for thrift in Nepal
Hello, I’m keeping this A-level Computer Science book up for sale. It’s the latest edition as far as I’m informed.
I had dropped out quite early on, so the book has two pages of any scribbling and highlighting at most, and is in an almost untouched condition, aside from the bends at the corners.
The original price is around 7-8k
I’m selling this for: 4.5 k and no delivery charge.
The price is around that much because trust me when I say the pages are in a great condition.
Please dm me if you’re interested, I’ll be glad to answer any queries <33
Also,
I have printed past papers for paper 2 of comp sci in a binder of the years 2018 to 2014 as well. Again, I had dropped out swiftly so they are untouched. Price: 800. No delivery charge.
I can do COD if you don’t feel comfortable with paying first.
