With the money available, the squad building over the last two years has been utterly terrible

The squad right now is in a very weird place. We essentially have a rabble of the worst left over players from the Howe era, who were not good enough to get moved on. Then lots of new young players to the league who are not ready. The quality drop off is massive.

The only real quality players we have in the squad now is Hall and Nico and I feel sorry for them.

Thats a huge drop off from the likes of Isak, Gordon, Bruno, Tonali, even the likes of Joelinton, Trippier and Schar in their prime. The squad was brimming with quality throughout the spine.

Yes Jaissle looks out of his depth but there are huge gaps in key positions and the quality is just not there. I think Howe even knew what was coming.

Major questions need to be asked on what the strategy is.

My team

No I’m not an expert and no I’ve not got the experience so this team can get slagged off I’m good with that. But I’m thinking once everyone is fit again we should be looking like this.

Steur is a baller and I think he could be the link between mid and defence.

Front three with tons of pace.

What would you guys change?

So much analysis on our team, but the root cause is clear. We play red bull football where we give up defence to outscore opponent. It doesn't work when you have no goal scorers in the team.

I see so many people analysing out tactics but the flaw is clear. We play 'vertical football' whatever that means, but essentially Jaissle wants to see intense attacks that result us playing entertaining games where we outscore our opponents.

It doesn't work with our current team because somehow we've pissed away hundreds of millions and bought nobody who can score.

Our best goal scorers at this point is Barnes when he one in a blue moon can cut in and shoot a peach.

Wissa had a purple patch season and is clearly not the answer. Dude couldn't hit a barn door if he tried.

Pardo was the answer supposedly? But he's clearly not a striker. Might have got by in lique one but doesn't have the space at #9 in the PL.

In a nutshell - you rarely outscore your opponent when you struggle to get more than 1 shot on target per game.
