Moderator Announcement PSA: Moderation of Manchester City's verdict

As an Arsenal fan I stand by the Premier League's statement and the independent commission's guilty verdict on Manchester City just as much as any other PL fan here.

Discussion of the topic is welcome and encouraged as it is objectively the largest scandal in football history, and it relates directly to the Premier League. Lately though, we've had many Rule 4 violations as everyone feels the need to add their opinion on the topic, whether to farm karma, to stir the pot, or simply to repeat the same things that have been said over and over again, and will continue to be said.

Standalone posts that do not contribute anything of value to discussion, and are simply rehashing the same talking points over and over again, will be removed, and for the time being will result in a 3-day ban for users to continue to discourage this. There is a dedicated megathread pinned to this subreddit for this, which is nothing new - the megathread has been up for over two weeks and yet every day the mods are removing tens of low content submissions complaining about corruption and coming up with "punishments" that have been suggested thousands of times.

In addition, we ask that everyone adheres to Rule 2, which is the requirement of following reddiquette. You can have whatever opinions you want about the behaviour of clubs, owners, managers, and players, and banter in good faith if you wish, but personal attacks and disrespecting other users will not be tolerated. Be civil and respectful at all times.

Examples of low-content submissions that will be removed:

Examples of higher-quality contributions that will be approved:

Any questions, comment below or message the mods, thanks. Open to user input on how this should be moderated.

Let’s give a shout out to the Seagulls. 2nd in the table.

What an achievement by Tony Bloom, Paul Barber and the Brighton hierarchy. A properly run football club that are only behind Arsenal in the premier league table. Champions league soon and well deserved. A club that follows the rules and will get its rewards soon.

Six games without a win is worrying enough, but with everything going on behind the scenes too, this feels like more than just a bad run of form. United look like a club badly in need of some stability. What do Premier League fans make of the situation?

Pierre Sage admits uncertainty on Crystal Palace future, apologises to fans for five-goal defeat

Pierre Sage says he does not know whether he will be given time to turn things around at Crystal Palace after a humiliating five-goal defeat at Brighton.

“I don’t know,” Sage said in his post-match press conference after being asked whether he would have the chance to rectify things.

“I just want to apologise to the fans because it’s not normal to show this face for this club against this other club and we are not at the level we expected. I am really sorry for that because I know how important it is for them.

“We didn’t show that today it was really important for us too. We didn’t understand in which context this game was played.”

Mikel Arteta: 'Big believer' that Havertz can return 30 goals in a season

Love the optimism Mikel but Kai aint him, 10-15 goal a season at best, I'd be surprised if he hit 20.

Part of it is injuries and fitness but he's just not clinical enough, good ability though.

Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai, Jeremie Frimpong out for ‘some time’ with injury – Andoni Iraola

Andoni Iraola says Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong are both facing spells on the sidelines after suffering hamstring injuries in Liverpool’s eventful 2-1 win at Brentford.

Vice-captain Szoboszlai was forced off in the first half after aggravating the same problem which had kept him out of the club’s previous two matches. Meanwhile Frimpong, who came off the bench at the start of the second half, lasted six minutes before limping off with a similar issue. Both players will undergo scans to determine the extent of the damage.

“We had a very delicate situation coming back from playing Champions League away (against LASK in Austria) on Wednesday, arriving back late at night and probably not a proper chance of recovery,” Iraola told reporters post-match.

“So you are in doubt between (selecting) the players who have already started two games and are very tired or the players who are recovering from injuries on whom you are not 100 per cent sure.

“Dom felt the same injury, so that injury probably isn’t healed enough so we will need more time with him. Jeremie was new. He finished the game cramping the other day. I put him in because playing against 10 I thought he would give us more going forward than Ronald (Araujo).

“After that, Victor (Munoz) was very good playing as a right-back. But it will mean we will lose Dom and Jeremie for some time.”

Does Wirtz run to much?

Wirtz covered the 23th most distance this season. 1st per 90 min for the top 100 players. He is 31st in total sprints as well. While Liverpool is last in total distance covered. Does he run too much? Is he more tired, because of that. Not saying thats the entire problem, but could be part of it.
