Forgotten what if moments?
With Talladega this weekend I think about the 2017 Fall race, where Daniel Suarez looked to have a very good shot at getting his first win in his rookie season. This is a what if moment for me, but most people forget about it.
So in that line of thinking, what are some of your favourite examples of forgotten what if moments?

[Michael McDowell with his response to the Penalty] How about we use our brains here and realize that rubbing doors in 1st gear at 40mph is different than smashing someone at 130 mph. The fact that this has to be explained is mind blowing to me.

What's a smaller moment you'll always remember from a race you've attended
So technically the first race I attended live was the 2017 all star race but I only remember the fact that Kyle Busch won. Many years later I got back into nascar and attended the 2024 Drive for the Cure 250. Most people remember this race for the NASCAR officials calling the caution when Parker Kligerman was about 2 feet from winning his way into the next round of the playoffs after Leland Honeyman somehow buried himself 10 feet into the safer barrier (leading to a very confusing 20 minutes for all of us at the track). However, I'll always remember Thomas Annunziata's brakes failing and watching him plow into the tire barrier in front of where I was sitting. Just the "hey uh.....he's not slowing down" to "oh shit!" moment will always stick out to me. What moment like that sticks out to you from races you've attended?
