I am on my quest of getting the platinum of Monster Hunter World, and the only trophy I still hadn't gotten is the one of the big and small crown monsters. Nergigante is literally the ONLY monster (from base game) that resists giving me it's crowns. All the other monster required less than 100 attempts minus Kirin who required 109. Am I doing something wrong?

I first tried this guy on Hunter Rank 50 before doing Iceborne stuff and got my ahhh handed to me like how meow chef hands me the food. Then learning that its intended for augmented gear I stopped for a day, cuz I'm not augmenting my non Master Rank gear. After getting access to some of my preferred armors and the Viper gunlance I tried again and finally beat silly little arch-tempered nigel the prick.

Seems like the game is pretty empty now.

So I just had the wonderous experience that everyone else is having I guess thanks to steam. Lost my blackveil Val Hazak mini crown from it and got put back to 5 crowns left with a lot of pent up anger.

Im creating this post cause I want to keep finishing this miserable crown hunt but also want clarification on a few things to prevent this from happening again and ruining my whole day.

When the cloud sync error happens I believe I'm supposed to use local files. I did cloud and seem to have learned the hard way that it was the wrong option.
I've saved my backup into another folder to hopefully prevent such losses again.

Is there anything else I can do? I'm really tired of crown hunting and I'll genuinely lose my shit if this happens again. I want to play other games.

If you receive a steam cloud synchronization error after closing the game or starting it, DO NOT select cloud save and DO select local save.

The times are represented wrongly and you will lose progress if you choose cloud save.

Only monster in the game that i still didn't solo. Making good progress i guess.

I bought MH:World about a month ago. Although I’ve had the chance to face these two monsters, I’ve avoided fighting them because I know I’m not prepared. This is my first real experience with the main series—I did play quite a bit of Monster Hunter Now, and while I know the gameplay isn't even remotely the same, I can infer that if I struggled with them in Now, they’ll be 30 times harder here. From what I’ve gathered, you should cut off Rathian’s tail so her tail swipes inflict less poison, and for Rathalos, you should prioritize damaging his wings to make it harder for him to fly. I reached the Rotten Vale for the first time just four days ago, and I had a lot of trouble with the Odogaron in that mission. Right now, I mostly use the Hunting Horn.

Since i came back to the game a couple weeks ago, I've been getting a cloud file conflict message every time i closed the game, so i started looking online for a possible fix but nobody seemed to mention the exact issue I was experiencing. So i started investigating on my own, identified what was causing the conflict, and managed to resolve it. So here's how to check whether you're experiencing the same problem and how to fix it!

First, make sure that you opened and closed the game recently, so that steam can create a log of the conflict. Once you've done that, open your Steam folder, and find the cloud_log.txt file inside the logs folder. The default path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\logs\cloud_log.txt

Now, with this text file open, press Control + F and search for 582010. This is MHW's Steam App ID. Look for a log entry that says:
"slot00 has local changes but mismatch - creating a conflict."
keep in mind that "slot00" can also be slot01 or slot02.

If you find this entry, you may be experiencing the same issue i had. Here's the solution:

First, make a backup of your saves in case anything happens. So, open your save folder. The default path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<YourSteamID>\582010\remote
go ahead and make a copy of the entire remote folder.

After that, you just need to create an empty folder INSIDE the remote folder. Rename this new folder based on the conflicting file you saw in the log entries earlier. So, if you had a conflicting "slot00" entry, then name it that, if you had more than 1 file conflicting, like "slot00" and "slot01", make more empty folders with the appropriate names. Also If you cant rename these folders because there is already a file named like that, just delete it and keep renaming them appropriately.

That's it! launch the game again, if steam prompts you to choose between local and cloud data, select Local. From that point on, syncing should work normally when you close the game.

Hopefully this helps anyone else experiencing the same issue I had :)

Like specifically what it does. More damage? Higher part break damage? More stun? Currently at rathalos and diablos, is it a super necessary or powerful mechanic?

Feels like it's been forever since he came out. Easily my favorite hunt in the game it's not even close. Here's to 2032 when i get him to 9999 lol.

For those wondering, my main weapon for it is DB, and I play on Xbox. Though I have killed it with every weapon multiple times.

I've done armorless, low rank weapon, clutch claw only, solo 2p scaling, solo 4p scaling, heroics and dragon element only to name a few challenges/meme runs i've done on it. I've speedran it quite a bit as well. Best time is 5:47 solo freestyle (not a fan of TAwiki rules personally).

So far today Everytime I boot up MHW on steam I get a cloud conflict error and my save is reverted to the first hunt I played earlier. Is this happening to anyone else?

I beat iceborn and beat the first quest where you just have to chase behemoth away and it even said I unlocked the emote but I can find it anywhere in either the customize radial menu options or the gestures tab?

Any tips for alatreon guys? I am a lance main and i am currently trying to get guard 5(ironside charm 5). I have rn a raging brachy+ teostra set and i have frostfang barioth ice weapon, any tips before trying to take on alatreon?
