Discussion Monthly Rant/Politics Thread: Do not post political threads outside of this Mega thread

Outside of these mega-threads, we generally do not allow political posts on the main subreddit because they have often declined into unhinged discussions and mud slinging. We do allow general discussions of politics in this thread so long as you remain civil and don't attack someone just for having a different opinion. The moment we see things start to derail, we will step in.

Got something upsetting or overwhelming that you just need to shout out to the world? Want to have a political debate over current events? You can post those thoughts here. There are many real problems that plague the Millennial generation and we want to allow a space for it here while still keeping the angry and divisive posts quarantined to a more concentrated thread rather than taking up the entire front page.

Other Just tried to watch Two Girls One Cup

Probably not the right sub, but this was ubiquitous during my formative years, and I thankfully had never seen it.

Now I'm on the internet a lot and have seen some absolutely sickening things. But this video actually made my throw up. Literally. I couldn't make it through, I think, like 10 seconds.

I have been drinking tonight, and that contributed to my weakened stomach, but holy shit, if you haven't seen it, DO NOT SEEK IT OUT!

I felt like, "I've seen a lot and wanna say I've seen it", but it wasn't worth it.

Y'all that watched it as children, I'm so sorry I didn't think it was as bad as it is.

Serious Deleting phone contacts of people that have died

Went to text an acquaintance tonight and below their contact was a friends who had passed away. I thought, "Damn, I won't need to call you again."

I was sitting on my porch and the weather was nice, so I went through my entire contact list just to delete all the... gone.

It was sobering. Other than grandparents and older relatives (sadly gone but expected), I deleted over 10 contacts. Murder, fentanyl, and suicide, mostly. The years are adding up. We are definitely no longer 23 and infinite.

So if you could send a text—just one text to one of those Millennial friend contacts in your phone that you know is gone but is still sitting saved in your phone, what would it be?

I'll go first:

Heather! Sorry I didn't holler, I thought we would've talked by now. Please swing by my place for Mardi Gras, my house is yours.
