“… A dog is on the loose after attacking a girl Wednesday in Miami-Dade, leaving blood, scattered dog treats and toys, and a mangled dog crate outside the scene.

Neighbors heard a girl screaming and called 911. A woman speaking through a Spanish translator said the dog wouldn’t let the girl go, biting one arm before going after the other.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Miami-Dade sheriff’s deputies responded to Northwest 66th Street around 4:40 p.m. for an animal bite. Deputies said they learned the dog was a family pet.

The dog’s owner, who asked to remain anonymous, told Local 10 the incident was a shock.

I used to have a great dentist, but the practice changed ownership, and now it feels like they’re constantly recommending treatments I don’t actually need.

I’ll mention that I requested to always have a mail in ballot sent to me, and I had to re-request that in September after not receiving my ballot. I requested mine and my husband’s (who became a citizen last year and can finally vote!) on September 17 and it was “sent out on September 20.” I have yet to receive it and the tracker also still just says the sent date.

I don’t want to put my tin foil hat on but … come on lol.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give a little update on the dog I posted about a few weeks ago.

After nearly three weeks of trying to locate his original owners, nobody ever came forward. We honestly considered keeping him ourselves because he's an absolute sweetheart. We even named him Dante.

He's incredibly affectionate, loves attention, wants to lick everybody, and will happily climb right into your lap like he's a little puppy. He also got along great with our other dog.

Unfortunately, I have a son on the autism spectrum who sometimes makes sudden movements, loud noises, and unexpected gestures. The dog had a concerning reaction at one point, including growling and lunging toward him during an outburst. Nobody was hurt, but we ultimately decided that our household wasn't the safest fit for him.

It was a really difficult decision because we genuinely grew attached to him.

Dante and is now at Broward County Animal Care in, listed as A2481642 under the name Jetski. They estimate he's around 2 years old, weighs 50 pounds, and is an American Staffordshire Terrier.

I really think he deserves a loving home with someone who can provide the right environment for him.

City of Miami Manager James Reyes submitted a proposal to bump up the zoning classification for a section of Overtown just south of Wynwood. These lots are “T3-O” and consist mainly of old duplexes and single-family homes. This upzone to “T4-R” allows for the redevelopment of an area that’s conveniently located near Downtown and the new Carnegie Mellon Campus. T4-R will allow for medium-density development, think Townhomes and small apartment buildings. If done correctly, this can be a much needed improvement to the once great neighborhood of Overtown. What do you guys think?
