Why we cant see anything⁉️⁉️⁉️

How come a makeup sub doesn’t let us see any makeup?

Why cant we post pictures?

This sub kinda sucks with the no pics.

Edit to add
Im not thinking pics of selfies and completed looks. Just when questions are being asked about color matching, dupes, application etc. pics make it easy to get and give advice. That is too much work to try and mod for tho so I get it I just want to see what people are talking about without needing google.

Influencer type makeup

I keep seeing influencers on my fyp and instagram feed with FLAWLESS full beats, yet mine never look like that. I never look like I have a full face on even though I try and no matter what routine I try, no matter the setting spray and primer and skin prep, my makeup does not stay the same the entire day.. so is it even possible to look like influencers all day long and irl or are those just filters and editing cause it makes me really insecure that I start looking like straight up doodoo after a few hours 😭

Son wants to wear makeup

My 16 year old son wants to play around with makeup, and I would like to give him a small set up. He breaks out a little so I was thinking a tinted moisturizer that is non comedogenic and he's wanting an eyeliner that goes on the waterline easily. Drugstore brands are a must. What would you guys recommend?

Is the Beauty Blender Skin Tint still good?

• Upvotes

I'm looking for a thin, natural finish foundation/skin tint for combo skin.

2-3 year old reviews on Reddit say this is a HG and underrated product! I know different products are often reformulated so I'm looking for recent opinions. TIA!

Anybody else have one of these days recently?

Where your makeup wears out before you do. You feel like you look great leaving the house and in sunlight, then go to some place with terrible lighting AND your makeup betrays you at the same time?

I just got back from a social gathering and the little under eye liner I used in a light taupe had migrated to look like I'd almost been crying. ..and I wasn't even wearing mascara. I guess it bled into my under-eye concealer and I didn't fully catch it till I got back T_T

[Makeup Help] ISO of a dark red lipstick (that's actually dark)

I'm based in the US if that helps with recommendations

A dark red without shades of purple/berry/mauve

Wine colored lipsticks are still fairly normal red

I have my eye on Black Orchid by Wet n Wild on Amazon, it looks like the perfect shade for what I need but someone posted a detailed review and did swatches on their arm and it's looking more red than dark. I think I'll still add it to my Amazon cart because its less than $2 so I got nothing to lose by trying it.

Cliniue's Almost Tinted in Black Honey looks like the right shade, but the formula is designed to blend with a person's natural lip color and my lips are pink so I'm probably not going to get the dark look I want.

I just looked at every lipstick Walmart had and found nothing close to a dark red. Dollar Tree has been one of my favorite places to get makeup these days and they don't even sell any kind of shades of red (at least at my Dollar Tree, its all berry or nude/beige colors).

I would also prefer an actual lipstick and not lip oil/gloss, if possible.

[Makeup Help] Beginner here, can I use eyeshadow for other stuff like contour?

Might be a stupid question but can eyeshadow be applied anywhere? What’s the practical difference between eyeshadow and blush if they’re both pigmented powder? Same with contour.

[Makeup Help] I need help! - product residue

Hi! So I need help… every time I wear lipgloss or any type of lipstick that’s more hydrating, i get a lot of residue inside my lips from the products! I’ve tried exfoliating, putting lip balm at night and before I put on makeup, I remove it before putting on gloss but no matter what I do, I always end up with residue.

The only product that doesn’t do that is Kiko Milano’s clear lip oil, because it’s very thin. But I want to wear gloss with pigment and I can’t.

I feel very discouraged when doing my makeup because of it, I have so many lip products that I love but end up looking gross.

Does this happen to any of you? And do you have any tips? Thank you!

[Makeup Help] Blue chrome eyeliner/eyeshadow?

hi there! I’m looking for a bright blue chrome eyeliner/eyeshadow that can ship internationally.

recently I came across a kiko Milano water eyeshadow in the shade cybernetic indigo / 03 if I’m not wrong. it’s absolutely mesmerizing, but I can’t find anything similar locally or online… does anyone have any recommendations?

EDIT: forgot to mention this shade was limited, I can’t find any listings secondhand. I’m outside the US.

Best Skin Tint Out of These 3?

I want a skin tint / tinted moisturiser that is good for combination skin. I’m 27 with both oily and dry patches. I currently use the Hourglass veil hydrating skin tint and it’s a great product, but it’s super expensive for such a tiny bottle and it’s extremely dewy- I like a bit dewy but it’s a bit overboard and makes my under eyes quite oily looking. I like it but I’d love something even better. I hate the feel of a heavy foundation and I want something that won’t clog my pores and that looks more natural than a high coverage foundation. I’d wear it every day to work so it would need to have some lasting powder and not turn really patchy. If it doesn’t have SPF, i’d be mixing it with some sunscreen.

I’ve seen recommendations for the Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Lightweight Blurring Skin Tint, the Kylie Cosmetics Silk On My Skin Tint Blurring Elixir, and the Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturiser. I’ve essentially narrowed it down to these 3 😂 But open to other suggestions too!

Has anyone with similar skin to me tried those and what is the honest verdict?

Affordable setting/finishing spray recommendations for combination skin. Primers and powder recommendations are also welcomed.

Hey everyone! So I consider myself to be a beginner when it comes to makeup, but I can do a somewhat decent base and eye look. My main problem is getting my makeup to stay for a long time. Right now I use the "Milani: Make it Last" and "Essence: Fix and Last Instant MATTE" setting sprays. Does anyone have better recommendations? I've heard Hard Candy setting sprays are good, but I want to see others' opinions before I buy anything new. I also have a problem with my makeup separating, even with good skin prep. Thoughts?

[Makeup Help] Water proof mascara?

Hello,

People of reddit, with hopefully more experience than me.

Context:

I've got VERY sensitive skin. I mean I've gotten pink eye from changing eye liner and itching my eye.

What I need help with:

I need help finding a waterproof mascara. Preferably 10-15$ or less. I would also appreciate if it could be picked up in store, (Walmart, Dollar tree, Dollar general, Sephora or a drug store) or be reasonably received by this Sunday.

Why I need help:

My aunt passed away and we're finally having a funeral on Sunday. It's been a long time of waiting to get things sorted.

My aunt's passing was after a long fought battle with cancer. Sadly she just couldn't fight it anymore. This has left me and the family heartbroken.

I want to look my best at the funeral but, I know I'll probably be crying. I don't want to be the cousin running around covered in mascara.

Could you please give advice or suggestions?

I'd also be open to suggestions on how to stop eye shadow from smudging or running too.

Thank you,

-a very tired person

[Makeup Help] Affordable Foundation Recommendations for a Beginner?

So, I’ve been wanting to get more into makeup! Right now, I use eyeshadow, mascara, and sometimes fake lashes if the occasion calls for it, but I want to start wearing foundation. I’m just not really sure what to look for.

I want something affordable and easy to apply that I can just put on and go without having to do a bunch of extra steps to make it look good. I don’t mind if it’s obvious that I’m wearing foundation or makeup, because obviously I am, but I don’t want it to look too heavy or cakey if that makes sense.

I guess what I’m asking is, based on what I’m looking for, what foundations would you recommend? Or are there any other products that might give me the look I want? I’m open to suggestions!

Edit: If this helps, I’d say my skin leans more toward the dry side, especially around my nose and cheeks area .

ISO discontinued Kat Von D Studded Kiss DUPE

SOS I have been literally obsessed with kat von D’s studded kiss lipstick in Cathedral. It is the PERFECT like dark moody mauvy whatever tone. It is obviously discontinued and a couple years ago I bought what may have been the last unopened piece on the market off eBay. Anyway i just opened my this one a few weeks ago and started to use it. Anyone know of a color dupe? Double points if it’s the same texture (a soft matte lipstick)

I’ve tried sooo many that I thought would be perfect but none of them are exact so I figured it’s time to ask you folks over here. I can’t add a picture for whatever reason so I’ll post it in the comments

Forever Panda Eyes

I searched this community and the Internet prior to making this post.

To minimize Panda Eyes, I use waterproof mascara, applied only to my top lashes. I have hyperhidrosis—if mascara is not waterproof, it runs.

When younger, with oily skin and hyperhidrosis, I used waterproof mascara and water-based foundations or powders. And I always had Panda Eyes.

Now, with dry skin (reduced oil production), continued hyperhidrosis, and smile lines, I use hydrating foundations. Prep/primers are hydrating or blurring silicones, if used (I’m tired of all the layers), to deemphasize lines, etc And, yes, I still get Panda Eyes.

How can one prevent Panda Eyes? I avoid powders around the eyes because they emphasize smile lines and wrinkles.
