💬 Discussion Fix for the SYNC rebooting issue (+ Reset Instructions)

Hello Mustang Mach-E owners,

I wanted to provide an update on the SYNC rebooting issue. The team appreciates everyone that reached out and provided VINs and helped with troubleshooting. It's played a part in helping to find this solution and we appreciate it.

After investigating with the team, it's turned out to be an issue on the backend with third-party data that was triggering those unexpected SYNC 4 reboots.

Because of this, we want to clarify: This wasn’t an issue with a Ford OTA. I know a lot of folks will defensively toggle off automatic updates when they see a bug reported. If you turned your automatic updates off just in case, make sure you go in and turn them back on!

That data-related issue is now resolved on our end.

Next steps for your Mach-E: If your screen is still acting up or stuck in a reboot loop, you likely just need to force a manual SYNC reset to clear things out and let it pull the fix.

  • Important note: If you already tried doing a manual reset yesterday (or earlier in the week) to try and fix this, you will need to do it one more time today. Resets done before this fix was applied on our end won't have grabbed the solution.

How to reset: The quickest way to do this is to hold down the Volume Down and Right Seek buttons on your steering wheel at the same time for about 10 seconds until the screen goes black and the Pony appears. (If you need the official step-by-step visual guide, you can find that here)

One quick heads-up: While the reboots themselves should be cured, you might still experience some intermittent hiccups with Connected Navigation services. We are actively working with our supplier to get those fully restored as well, so hang tight on that front.

We appreciate your patience as we work to get this resolved.

Have a great weekend! ⚡️

💬 Discussion The mid-sized electric truck is called Ford Fathom. Here’s what we can tell you.

Many of you know me from helping with vehicle issues and answering questions in this community, today I wanted to introduce you to u/RileyFromFord who has newly joined the team and is going to be on Reddit regularly.

We can't show you what our mid-size electric truck looks like...yet. But we can confirm the name: Ford Fathom, the first vehicle produced on the new Universal Electric Vehicle Platform.

”Fathom" traces back to a nautical unit of measurement, originally defined as the distance between a person's outstretched arms, a fitting metaphor for a truck built to meet people wherever they are in life. Fitting, right?

What's confirmed right now:

  • Starting MSRP: $28,350, for the standard-range battery. Pre-orders begin early 2027.
  • Every Ford Fathom will be BlueCruise-capable. BlueCruise is Ford’s hands-free highway driving assistant.
  • Fathom has bidirectional power capability.
  • Fathom has a large, high-resolution touchscreen, digital key, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability.
  • Fathom will have more passenger volume than a Toyota RAV4, with a frunk and bed for added cargo flexibility. This truck will genuinely useful and fun to drive.
  • Fathom will feature Apple Maps embedded directly into the vehicle, not a traditional phone-projection CarPlay setup. The integration also provides the road-level map data used to help enable key pieces of Ford’s next-generation hands-free highway driving capability.

What we can’t share yet: final imagery, fuller specs, full ordering details, and plenty more are still to come. A hot tip - keep a keen eye on the flipbook video we have going around…

If you want to stay up to date with what we have planned for Fathom, you can sign up here.

Ask us anything, and we'll answer what we can. Riley & I will be in the comments for the next few hours, and we aren't going anywhere after that either.

Emily & Riley (from Ford)

I bought my 2023 GT used two months ago and am still trying to figure out the nuances and details of the build. I noticed that my GT says Mach-E4-X. I’ve also noticed that not all Mach Es have this badging. Some don’t have the 4 and others don’t have the 4 or the X.
Someone please enlighten me.

🛍️ Accessories Ford Winter Tire Packages

Post image
15 Upvotes

An fyi for anyone looking for winter tires. I got a new Mach-e and needed winter tires for it and did some shopping around and found all the prices were fairly similar. Ended up going to ford because they had a promo for 30k ford points with a “winter tire package” - tires, rims, tpms . Just picked it up and to my surprise it was actual OEM Mach-e rims! I was expecting some generic black steel rim.

I always just think of dealerships as more expensive but super happy so figured I’d share for anyone else looking.

❓Question Why, Ford?

Both of my other vehicles that aren’t from Ford can do a memory seat recall while in drive with no issue. Is there a Forscan edit to disable this? 2026 Premium if it makes any difference.

🛒 Car Shopping Buying help

I need some advice. I’m in Washington and have mostly decided on a Mach-e. I was wondering what is the discount/percentage people are getting off on their Mach-e’s. At my local dealer they have a GT, I like the spec, and it’s listed at 58k with all the rebates and etc. would it be crazy to try and get an additional 10 percent off? I’d like to be at 52kish or less. Also, is there much if any difference between a 2025 and 2026? There a new 2025 a little over an hour away that’s marked all the way down to 51k.

🛒 Car Shopping Buy 23 Premium or Wait?

I am looking at a 23 Mach E Premium with 33,137 miles and extended range. The price on the site says $30.7k. I talked them down to 29.5 k. Just checking this is a good deal; I am based in the PNW, and it roughly seems to reflect what is going on. I am flexible on timing for purchasing and would consider a 24 or 25 premium and would like to stay under 50k miles and $30k and under. Every time I look or visit a dealer, people are returning their leases, but I would like to purchase with a month max and have been looking at cars for a month.

❓Question What does this button do?

I just bought a 2025 Mach E Select and I noticed a switch lit up below the passenger light switch on the overhead console. I tried to find it in the owners manual but I have had no luck finding anything about it.

🛍️ Accessories Aftermarket GT "grill"

Looking for recommendations on an aftermarket GT-style grille!

I've seen a few posted here before and always thought they looked pretty cool. Unfortunately, the front of our car recently had a little run-in with the garage door, leaving a pretty nasty scrape that can't be buffed out.

Figured there's no better excuse to upgrade than covering up the damage with some light-up badging!

Would love to hear any recommendations or see photos of what others have installed.

Thanks again!

🛒 Car Shopping Looking into used MachE 2023 or 2024 Premium

Was looking into the Ioniq5 until I came across the ICCU issue and there's no real fix for it aside from "bring it in, we'll replace it over and over if needed" which I don't want to have to deal with. This will be my wife's car and I don't want her to have to deal with issues.

MachE is next on our list, looking at 2023 or 2024 Premium models. Is there a significant difference between the years? What mileage on the battery should we avoid? Thanks in advance.

🛒 Car Shopping Should I do it? Mustang GT to Mach-E GT?

I have a 2018 Mustang GT premium with all the bells and whistles and only 33k on the clock that I'm considering trading in for a 2024 Mach-E GT. Surprisingly my Mustang seems to be somewhat of an "in demand" vehicle, so I can get a nice price for it on trade-in. I found an awesome 2024 Mach-E GT for a great price a few hours away from me, and trade-in considered the difference I would have to pay would only be about 7k including taxes. Mind you the Mach-E has less than 10k miles and seems to be in perfect shape and has all the options I would want (except it doesn't have the performance upgrade or the nicer wheels).

I'm on the fence - I've had my eye on the Mach-E for a while, and it almost seems like a no-brainer. I love my Mustang but I never really bonded with it like I did my previous sports cars. It also has a very harsh ride (no magnaride), and the shifts aren't exactly buttery smooth (it's an auto). The Mach-E is also much more practical and easier to get in and out of (I'm no spring chicken anymore!) I will miss the noise it makes though!

I honestly wouldn't drive the Mach-E very much, as I work from home, and I'm a little worried that letting it sit for days at a time will reek havoc on the 12v battery that I've heard so many complaints about. I do already have a level 2 charger installed in my garage that isn't being utilized, so charging isn't an issue.

Tell me, what would you do?

❓Question Bugs getting into car?

I parked under a tree at work and when I got back to it, it was COVERED in those boxelder bugs. I blew as many off as I could with my leaf blower, and noticed that when I opened my door there were also some in the doorframe, which essentially was an entry way into the car. I got most of those out, and only saw one or two fly in-but it’s now a week later and I’m still flicking 4-5 out a day. Im convinced more are getting in somehow, but all the doorframes are empty. Am I crazy?

❓Question Need some help, want to buy a safe car before baby comes in 7 weeks - Mach-E seems to have a good safety rating. Would you recommend it regarding children. Appreciate your time! Also, what other nice things about this car do you love?

Thank you for letting me post.

My partner loves this car and wants to get it. Just safety questions, if you have the time, it is greatly appreciated! I'm not hugely educated on this. I think this car is safe but I don't want AI to tell me that I want actual people who have had this car.

Carseat/capsule:

We just brought the: Zummi Monaco 4-Wheel Travel System: it contains a capsule/new-born carseat. In the manual it warns more than once about rear airbags going off which could causes severe injury or worse. Are they rear ones and or are they curtain ones? I've read curtain ones are safe.

ISOFIX:

We also have the ISOFIX base. "The Zummi i-Size Base attaches quickly and securely to your vehicle's ISOFIX connectors. Install the Zummi Base using your car's ISOFix attachments. Colour indicators confirm correct installation of the base to the vehicle, and the car seat to the ISOFix base. The adjustable support leg stores neatly under the base when not in use, while the quick release button makes it easy to move your child's car seat between cars. Compatible with the Zummi Monaco Capsule (sold seperately with the Zummi Monaco 4-Wheel Travel System 6923712)."

  • Complies with safety standard: ECE R129
  • ISOFIX compatible for safe and secure installation Adjustable support leg
  • Colour indicators confirm correct installation
  • Quick release button"

We would change carseat products once once baby is 6 months.

Do you think this car would be a good fit for the baby once he is here?

Would love to here your experiences with children and this car.
Thank you so much, any reply is again, much appreciated.

Kind Regards

It was really weird. The app came up but wouldn't display anything. I stopped it restarted it. Cleared cache. Restarted my phone. But it wouldn't work at like 1am eastern time last night.

Then this morning it worked fine.

💬 Discussion Dealer can't perform recall due to low 12v battery SOH

I took my '22 Mach E in for the software update that addresses the "kids locked in the car if 12v battery dies" recall. After having it for a few hours, they called stating that the 12v battery state of health was at 41% and therefore they were unable to complete the recall work. They offered to replace the battery for over $600. I asked if they could put a 12v charger on the car to complete the work. They said that they'd done that, but that something was wrong with the battery and that they couldn't install the software.

Has anyone had this experience? Is the dealer conflating state of charge and state of health?

The battery is coming up on 4 years old, so it could be due for replacement, but I'm struggling to understand why they couldn't do the software update with a 12v charger running in parallel with the allegedly bad battery. No other symptoms of bad 12v battery, FWIW.

🛜 Software Update BlueCruise stopped working after Software Update 13 - Connectivity TCU-26.2.12.2.1 | How to Fix

Post image
8 Upvotes

After a recent software update on my 2025 Ford Mach E Premium, I noticed my BlueCruise was no longer enabled. It seems to be tied to the Software Update 13 - Connectivity
TCU-26.2.12.2.1 that was pushed to my system. I found out that reason why and how to fix it - it turned off a setting required to work - Connected Navigation. So I turned it back on and then it started working again. Posting in case others have this issue after the latest round of software updates.

Go to Settings > Connectivity > Connected Vehicle Features.
• Ensure Connected Navigation is turned ON.

🔌 Charging Grizzl e charger

Hey all, just got a new grizzl e classic connect unit installed. (Not hardwired but a 14-50 NEMA EV receptacle)
Plug it in started charging right away. Said great. Left it on for 2 mins. Unplugged. Figured I’d charge later overnight.
Went to charge again and all the lights are normal on the charge box. But the mach e charge light is blinking white. Like it won’t accept the charge from the charger.
Any ideas ?
