Wow!
Where is your go-to spot in Macau where you can legitimately connect with people?
I might be asking too much since today is Monday, but what’s a bar/pub/club you’d go to meet new people? I’m finding Macau nightlife and even social life a too limited, especially compared to Hong Kong.
It’s usually very easy for me to meet new people but… dang, Macau has been tough in this regard. I love the city and would love to connect with more locals, but so far it’s been quite challenging.
Also, I’ve been avoiding going too close to the casino area since that’s not really my vibe. I’ve been to Old Taipa Tavern before but not sure how it’s gonna be there tonight.

Hi there! I am planning to visit my partner who is based in Macau (we are long distance) and I would like to spend as much time with him as possible. We are not married. I am allowed 30 days visa on arrival.
Has anybody recently exited and re-entered Macau on a tourist visa, and how many times can I do this before immigration potentially has an issue with this?
My ideal plan would be to exit and re-enter Macau twice so that I can spend about 80-90 days with him total before returning home. I have sufficient funds to cover my trip and can prove this to immigration if needed.
Would really appreciate hearing anyone’s experiences and how this went for them. Thanks in advance.

Hey guys. We had the first English language open mic last month at bookand, and it was a big success! We had lots of fun. And, one of the comedians was someone who joined through Reddit! Was a lot of good vibes.
Want to let everyone know we'll be doing it again, next Friday, 23rd of October, 9pm at bookand. Hopefully we can make this a monthly event. If anyone wants to join and tell some jokes they're more than welcome.
Come join us, listen to or tell some jokes, hang out and have fun after. Message me if you need any info

I’m from Macau (26/F). Currently exploring my life. I want to meet more different people, share thoughts and hopefully can give me some ideas of what to do with my life.

I was wondering if anyone else would be going, as I’m in Hong Kong and would be going to Macau for the first time in years so it’s like going to a foreign country for me as it’s been so long 😭 if anyone is also going alone, would you want to buddy up and go together? Or if anyone is going in a small group, would it be ok for me to join? I also have a lightstick btwww
I also wanted to ask if anyone has tips for a day trip otherwise in Macau? Places to visit, etc 😊 plus would it be alright to use HKD or alipayhk? Or mastercard/visa? Also whether it would be better taking the ferry or bus?
Thank you!!

I'm trying to figure out how to bring my luggage with me? I will be having a large and small suitcase plus my backpack. Chatgpt says I would have to book that ahead of time? Is that how it works? How early should I arrive to the HK ferry terminal to take ferry to Macau? Is it fairly easy to take it from Macau terminal to my hotel? (The londoner)

Hi everyone! I'm a European guy travelling solo through Asia next year, and I'll be in Hong Kong for Chinese New Year. I want to spend one afternoon exploring Macau and then go straight to the casinos for the evening, to see them at their busiest and most festive during Golden Week.
I'm hesitating between Feb 6 (CNY Day 1) and Feb 8 (CNY Day 3).
A few questions:
- Which of these days is the most fun in the casinos, and from what time?
- What should I see in the afternoon despite the crowds? Senado Square and the Ruins of St. Paul, or is it better to skip them that week?
- Is Cotai the best place for the evening atmosphere, or the Peninsula (Lisboa area)?
- How early should I book the ferry back to Hong Kong, or a hotel if I stay the night?
- Any tips for a first-timer at the tables?
Any advice is welcome. Thanks a lot!

I’m looking to celebrate my husband’s birthday in Macau. Does anybody have recommendations for a restaurant with a private room? He prefers Japanese, Italian, or Portuguese food. Budget is 3000 MOP for the night just for the two of us. We can bring our own cake but would prefer to pay to have the room decorated beforehand.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi! Has anyone tried going DIY from Macau International Airport to the Ruins of St. Paul, located at Rua de São Paulo, Macau?
I’m planning to visit on my own and wanted to ask if it’s easy enough to DIY using public transportation. What’s the best route from the airport, and which bus or shuttle should I take?
I’d also appreciate an estimate of the total transportation cost, travel time, and whether there’s a lot of walking involved once you get near the area.
Is it generally easy for a first-time visitor to navigate, or would taking a taxi be more practical?
Thanks.

Hihiii, I wanted to ask about shop payments in Macau. Is it possible to use wechat/alipay as non mainlander or use YouTrip? Or is it mostly cash HKD & RMB? Thanks!

I'll be visiting Macau at the end of October and I'm looking for the best buffet to try. I don't mind spending more as long as the food is really worth it. I'm more interested in food quality than just having a huge selection. For those who've tried different buffets in Macau, which one would you recommend? And are there any popular ones that you think are overrated?

are there anyone doing one nights stands in macau?
I like to visit these places on street view. It's still 2008 and the casinos were still being built, like time has stopped. Something very cosy about those two places.

I’m looking to buy a IPhone 18 pro max and I will happily compensate you for your time and help, and I can meet you wherever is convenient once you land to pick it up.
Thank you!

Thought this may be of interest for people planning to come over for the GP
Tickets for the 73rd Macau Grand Prix go on sale Thursday (oct 9) at noon, macau ticketing. nov 19-22, Guia circuit. F3, GT, Touring cars, the whole thing on a street circuit through the city.
If you're coming over for it, the hotel matters more than the grandstand. Here are the rooms that actually face the track:
- Hotel Lisboa, overlooks the Lisboa bend. the classic gp stay. ask for a bend-facing room, higher floor.
- Artyzen Grand Lapa, near start/finish and the pits. they sell actual "track view" rooms for gp weekend (deluxe king / twin / one bedroom suite with track view), so book that category, not the standard one. front-facing, not pool-facing. balconies are 16th floor and up.
- Starworld, faces the straight after mandarin bend. one of the fastest sections. balcony rooms, high floor.
- Wynn Macau, main straight. most track-facing rooms of the lot.
- Hotel Guia, up on the hill section. different angle, elevated view over the twisty part.
Track-facing rooms go first and race weekend is the most expensive hotel weekend of the year, so don't sit on it.
