Discovered my main Lyme symptoms are MCAS and responded very well to treatment

My main symptom basically feels like histamine dump where I wake up wired and energetic suddenly at night , and I can’t get back to sleep.

During the day I can’t handle any mental stimulation, whether it be sound or light or even just thinking causes brain irritation and discomfort. Literally being conscious is uncomfortable for my brain.

Taking cetirizine and famotidine has helped a lot. Also taking vit C, PEA, quercetin, propranolol (at night).

What co-infection could be causing this? anyone else with a similar experience?

Question Lyme disease?

• Upvotes

Hi, I didn’t even know MUCH about Lyme disease, but now I’m seriously considering if I may have had it for a couple of years.
I live near a small woodlandy area in the UK. My cat brought a tic in a couple of years ago and I found it whilst showering since it was connected just under my armpit. I’m not even sure if I removed the fucker completely. Anyway I went to the doctors and they fobbed me off because even though I didn’t know much about Lyme disease other than tics, they were like “yeah probably nothing 🤠.” The vet ironically did more tests on the cat than on me lol, when she got bitten a week or two later.

Anyway since then I’ve had a clusterfuck of symptoms.
- tiredness to the point where I never feel properly rested, to the point where I sleep more than my partner with CFS.
- crippling muscle pain some days especially in my back and neck (my partner jokes I’m pushing 90).
- chronic migraines, which I had every day until I went onto beta blockers.
- random allergies have developed such as an onion allergy.
- I also get eczema all the time, which only started half a year ago.
- I get POTS like symptoms such as dizziness when standing etc.

Those are my main ones, but could this seriously be Lyme disease? Should I order a home testing kit, are they accurate?

Talking , balance , tingling, numbness ( Issues)

Hello everyone. I am experiencing balance issues while standing and walking, foot drop, numbness throughout most of my body—including my head—and tingling in my hands and feet. I also have head pain that feels like pins being stuck into my scalp, as well as eye inflammation that has caused blurred vision. Is this common with a *Bartonella* infection?

Lyme or menopause

Had/ have lume fit 20 plus years. last ten was extreme extrem brain fog / pms/ joint issues. Cervical spine si joint

but that could have been perimenopause/ hormone fluctuations

since I fully entered Meno I started with the extreme meno symptoms: panic attacks, thst thick brdin fog daily, mental health issues, cognition slipping, vibrations, joint pains, itchy scalp, urinary.

I tried hrt that helped but I had to keep increasing as symptoms came back. I increased to much to fast had spikes a siezure- like episode - became unable to tolerate became dizzy/jaw shifting/ sensory issues/ walking hard / drive/ work / care for family. Four months later still can’t donthise things.. titrated off. In withdrawl - unreal bed bound for weeks . dealing with mental health issues. All extreme

i feel like I’m living when not.

always suspect lyme is an issue but in this hormonal chaos I can only see the top layer. So much turmoil .

i am so hyper reactive at this moment I couldn’t treat plus I already have do much going on with the hormones.
every dr I try to see tells me to see a different one.

Question Enlarged lymph node. Could it be Lyme or something else? Input please!

Currently can’t sleep and overthinking LOL help. I have an enlarged lymph node below one ear that has been present ever since I got diagnosed with lyme. Talking over ten years back since being sick, treated, and diagnosed. Sometimes the lymph node feels physically firmer but is always there and doesn’t hurt. Also ever since being diagnosed with lyme my annual bloodwork always shows high lymphocytes despite red and white blood cells being normal.

I’m wondering if anyone else has dealt with enlarged lymph nodes. Did you find out the cause of yours? Was it lyme related or something else? Do you have high lymphocytes? Do you know the cause of that? I decided to add to my anxiety and google symptoms and of course it said possible lymphoma.

To look further into this should I ask my primary care doctor order certain tests, ultrasound, biopsy? I know lyme will give hundreds of symptoms but I know I can’t dismiss everything as lyme. I’ve missed several health conditions before labeling it as just another lyme thing so I find myself on edge when it comes to symptoms.

*Want to add in along with lyme I was diagnosed with babesia. My most retesting of babesia did come back positive, four years ago. I began treating babeisa again and haven’t retested since my symptoms went away after treating. Maybe this could be babesia still causing havoc? My only other current medical stuff going on is hypothyroid, endometriosis, adenomyosis, pcos. I was tested a full panel of infectious diseases in 2025 when I was hospitalized and all came back negative.

Image What do we think about this bite? Spoiler

Pulled a tick off my thigh at around 9AM EDT today and had a small spot. This image is from a few minutes ago. I did just go to a doc, but the only place open was one of the urgent care facilities. Doctor wasn't sure but said she "didn't love" the way it looked and put me on a 10 day course of doxy. Obviously I'm going to follow the doctor's advice, but just wondering if someone thinks this does/doesn't look like the typical bullseye.

A few things to note: The tick was small and not filled with blood, but was anchored pretty good and I had to tug to get it off. The "rash" is about the size of a pencil eraser, maybe a tad bigger. It's tough to see in the photo, but the are around it about the size of a quarter is slightly raised/swollen and tender. Lastly, I believe the bite was from a tick in Bucks County, PA yesterday, but I was also camping last weekend in northern NJ. Could be from then, but I'd be shocked if it was there a whole week and I didnt notice.

(Re-post because I had tried a moment ago and accidentally hit send too early. Sorry)

Support 20 month old potential tick bite and I’m trying not to spiral

My toddler had a small red bite on his arm, and I assumed it was from a mosquito. There’s a family history of bad reactions to mosquito bites, so I applied hydrocortisone and thought nothing of it. The next day it was bigger and yellow-y in the center. I messaged his pediatrician who said to keep applying hydrocortisone and unless it seemed to bother him it would heal up.

Well that was a week ago. It spread and is a circular rash that looks similar to ring worm, but not quite like a standard “bulls eye” rash. I took him in anyways, because my instincts said something was wrong.

The doctor there definitely was trying to keep from going wide-eyed and very solemnly told me the plan, and why.

He is too little for doxycycline as a first-line treatment, so we are starting with amoxicillin. But I’m honestly so scared. I don’t even know how to calm myself down. Please give me some sort of encouragement.

Funny not funny Lyme website

Someone made and posted a funny not funny website about what it’s like to get Lyme and deal with doctors etc.

Anyone have a link to that? I think it was unusual color, like yellow or green or something.

One week ago I got bitten by a bug of some kind in a park, at first it was just a little bight but by the end of the week a circle developed. I’ve felt achiness in my thighs since the bite although I thought it was cycling related (I don’t normally get aches from cycling) I’ve also been sleeping alot more - getting up after 12pm although I thought this was just due to being hungover. I went to the chemist and they said they thought it was just an infected bug bite since I didn’t have to remove a tick/didn’t see one. But since it’s behind my leg and I itched it so much I think I would’ve scratched any tick off??? Anyway they gave me antibiotics (not those that treat Lymes) Since then it’s developed into a large red blob and is still super itchy and I feel achier and more tired. Finding it hard to get the energy to do anything. What do I do???
