Training Those who have fractured/broken their metacarpal bone, when did you go back to fighting?

Tittle sums it up. Got hit with rain and my bike slipped and I fractured my metacarpal bone. How long was your arm in the split/cast and how long was physical therapy? When did you get approved for training?

I just saw this on my IG feed and I'm curious what do you guys think about WBC expanding into kickboxing next year to compliment their boxing and muay thai belts.

how do I practice in fighting if I am the tallest guy in my gym?

as the title says i am the tallest person in my gym and I tower over most people in my gym. I have a problem with this because I won't know what to do if someone with a longer reach spars me since all I know is out fighting.

Can most people reach an elite level of technique on their punches?

It does not require the same flexibility and balance as kicks, so, Assuming you know exactly how it's done due to the instructions, and you train as much as possible, is there still a part where most people break down? and where would you say that tends to be?

Training How to improve kick flexibility as a beginner?

I'm a beginner in Kyokushin Karate and want to improve my kicking flexibility.

I can do front kicks around chest height or slightly below, but I can't fully straighten my knee and leg. My crescent kicks only reach around groin height, with a significant bend in my leg.

What stretches would you recommend, and how long does it usually take to see significant improvement with consistent daily stretching? Ideally, I'd like to get my crescent kicks to around neck height eventually.

Thanks!

Training Is punching with the last three knuckles bad?

I've read online that you're supposed to punch with your front two knuckles, and my boxing coach says the same thing. However, I have a problem: both of my index fingers protrude slightly when I make a fist.

Because of this, I often injure the index fingers/joints (on both hands) punching with the front two knuckles, and I end up having to take a few weeks off to recover. I've noticed that when I punch using my middle and ring-finger knuckles instead, I don't seem to have this problem.

Is it okay to continue punching like that, i know its more risky but in my case i think il have less injuries like this. Has anyone else had a similar issue with their index fingers protruding when making a fist? If so, how did you deal with it?

(Of course i wear handwraps, 14ounces for training and 16oumces for sparring)

Sorry for bad english, it's not my native language, hope you can still understand the post

Are kicks better than punches?

I have had my first sparring session in kickboxing, I have good hands for a beginner as I come from a boxing background (not that serious though only 1 year of training), but guys in the gym destroyed me in light sparring. we didn’t go hard at all but I felt like they could have hurt me real bad if they wanted to, so do you think I should just focus on kicks and getting my legs stronger so even if I’m tired I can kick well?

Gear What Boxing Gloves Should I Get for €40–60?

I’m looking for new boxing gloves since my first pair is slowly falling apart. I bought a pair for 30 euros at my local sports shop, and I’ve never had any problems with them. After 1.5 years of training, they’re starting to fall apart, so I want to get a new pair.

Which ones should I buy? How much should I spend to get a decent pair for my level? I was thinking about 40–60 euros. Is there a big difference between cheap gloves and high-end premium gloves?

UK fighters and coaches: how do you actually find amateur and interclub fights at the moment?

Full disclosure first: I'm a founder working on matchmaking software for UK clubs, so I have a reason for asking. I'm not linking anything here because I'd genuinely rather hear how it works for you.

From the coaches I've spoken to, finding a fight still mostly means WhatsApp groups, Facebook posts and ringing round other clubs, and the details you get about the opponent (weight, age, how many fights they've really had) are often second hand.

For those of you competing or coaching in the UK:

  1. How did you get your first amateur or interclub fight?
  2. How long does it usually take from "I want a fight" to having one confirmed?
  3. Have you ever turned up and found the opponent wasn't what you were told? What happened?
  4. What would make the process fairer or quicker?

I'd also be interested to hear how it works outside the UK, if it's any different.

What do adults think when a 13-year-old joins their coach’s kickboxing gym?

I'm 13 years old, and most people at my coach's kickboxing gym are adults in their 20s or 30s.

I enjoy training with them because I can learn a lot from older and more experienced people. However, sometimes I wonder what they think about having someone so young training with them.

Anyone can join my coach's gym, but around 90% of people my age seem to play football instead of doing martial arts. So I don't really have many people my age to train with.

During sparring, I keep my punches controlled and don't go full power. I try to be respectful and follow the rules.

Do adults generally mind training with teenagers? Do you enjoy having younger people in your gym, or do you sometimes prefer training with people your own age?

Would you be less willing to spar with a 13-year-old, even if they were respectful and controlled their strikes? Why or why not?

I'd appreciate honest answers!

Hello everyone I had some questions regarding elbow, like do kickboxing have elbows when I googled it's says no it's banned but no proper answer some YouTube user in comment section wrote that they were teachen elbow and knee strikes but were forbid in sparing and matches so do elbows and knees exists and which rulesets come closest to thai rules. Please don't say Muay thai lethwei aren't those different Martial arts from kickboxing and kickboxing was originated to supress muay thai and also do dutch Kickboxing, american kickboxing and japanese kickboxing are style or seperate martial arts.
