Why doesn't Director's Cut (Frankie Knuckles & Eric Kupper) get enough credit?
One of my favorite duos... Director's Cut is a team consisting of both Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper... they've remixed or made countless tracks. Some of my favorite remixes are Get Involved, Back to Basics, Baby I, and Let's Stay Home (an original song).
They started out in 2009 and helped bring in this really cool laidback, yet hype version of house. Staying pretty consistently between 120 and 126 with a lot of groove and energy. They were making songs or remixes right up to 2014 (when Frankie died) so most of the songs still hold up to modern sonics I think. Although, today's ear for fast paced TikTok style bites might not fit... they still had a lot of energy in their songs and surprisingly still had somewhat of a drop.
My thing about credit is that, some of the songs we hear and associate with Frankie were actually worked on and created with Eric Kupper. Even though the group started in 2009, the team itself have been doing their thing since the 1980s.
If you want a taste of their sound here's 5 tracks to play:

Something cool they did to stick out is they play this snare on every off beat right before the kick so it creates a very forward feeling. It's virtually on every song and you can't miss it once you notice it.
