I’m curious how other providers handle clients who gradually start treating you more like a girlfriend than an escort, especially when they’re otherwise sweet and respectful. Am I crazy for feeling this way despite marketing as a GFE companion?
For context, I don’t even know if I’d consider him a regular yet, as he’s only booked me twice, although both bookings were within a relatively short period. Both were three-hour dates at his residence. He cooks for me, our time together has always been pleasant, and he’s opened up quite a bit about his past relationships and personal life. He’s divorced, lives alone, and has even described me as his “therapist” before. I get the impression that he’s lonely, which I can empathize with.
After our first date, he started sending casual texts unrelated to bookings. Initially, I didn’t mind because they weren’t particularly frequent, and I’d occasionally respond. However, the communication gradually increased, especially around our second date and afterward.
During our second date, he made a comment about how one of his biggest fantasies involving me was the possibility of what we have being “real.” That made me uncomfortable because, respectfully, we’ve spent a total of six hours together. He doesn’t actually know me outside of our dates.
He’s also started suggesting what types of photos I should post next, which, admittedly, really annoyed me. I can’t even fully explain why. Something about it felt like a subtle sense of entitlement or an increasing level of familiarity that I never really invited. But I also question whether I’m being unnecessarily irritable because, objectively, making a suggestion isn’t inherently disrespectful.
I’m generally not someone who texts much outside of arranging bookings, answering brief questions beforehand, or occasionally chatting shortly afterward. Since our second date, I’ve gradually stopped responding to his casual messages altogether. I’d rather not encourage an expectation of ongoing communication.
Here’s where I feel conflicted. Sometimes I feel guilty for being annoyed because he’s genuinely sweet. He hasn’t been aggressive, demanding, or explicitly disrespectful. At the same time, I’m an escort, not his girlfriend or therapist, and I don’t want to feel obligated to provide ongoing emotional availability between dates.
I also recognize that my irritation is mine to manage. Rather than allowing relatively harmless messages to occupy so much emotional space, I can simply choose not to engage.
For those who’ve experienced something similar, do you let your lack of responses communicate your boundaries, or do you explicitly address expectations around communication? At what point does harmless friendliness start feeling like an expectation of unpaid emotional availability?
