HealthyHooha Update 2026

EDIT:
TLDR - Don't be a transphobe. Don't be a creep. Mods are being recruited. Add user flair. <3

Hello Healthy Hooha community! We hope everyone is thriving.

We wanted to check in with everyone and offer a few reminders and acknowledgements.

·       This is intended to be a safe, inclusive place for vaginal health. Trans individuals are welcome here. Bigotry, nastiness, and rule breaking will result in comment/post removal and a ban. We have additional resources in the sidebar regarding trans health.

·       There are creepers here. They may DM you inappropriately or leave comments with a fetishizing tone. Flag their comments and report them to us, and we will ban them, as this is against sub rules. HOWEVER, please keep in mind, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the community and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting.

·       To that end, we are making a concerted effort to increase monitoring of the subreddit. On the one hand, there’s only so much we can do to avoid inappropriate content/comments, short of making the subreddit private (more on that in a moment). On the other, we can improve our modding efficiency using the tools available to us – and have been making strides to do so.

·       We are recruiting more moderators to help with this. We acknowledge that the sub has been undermoderated lately.  Our vision with moderating going forward is to moderate in “real time”, meaning avoiding having to wait for troublesome comments to get flagged and instead remove them before it becomes necessary. If you are interested in modding, please see the application form. The existing mods are establishing vetting guidelines and will recruit accordingly.

·       We’ve occasionally noticed comments asking why this sub isn’t private. Our vision for this sub from the beginning was to make vaginal health visible and accessible – a place where we can share our struggles, commiserate, and feel less alone. Privatizing the sub, in our opinion, is counter to that goal. But we also understand that this makes creepers and fetishists more likely to invade a space that isn’t for them. With an increase in moderation and moderator tools, we hope to combat this and keep vaginal health visible and accessible to those who need it.

·       Consider doing searches for commonly posted topics. As a reminder, photos are technically allowed but in all honesty are rarely helpful, and no one here can give true medical advice.

We are also going to be testing a new feature - designated some posts as Flaired User Only posts. This will restrict comments to users who have added flair from this community. Mods will be using this at our discretion to limit comments to flaired community members only. We think this will be helpful in limiting off topic, fetishizing, or otherwise inappropriate comments.

We thank everyone for their patience, and for your involvement and support in making this a reliable safe community. Wishing everyone well!

-your healthyhooha mod team

HealthyHooha Community Check In

Hello to our beautiful community! We wanted to check in, provide updates, and answer some FAQs/give clarification.

  1. Banning users - We often get modmails reporting users that are requesting DMs and/or being creeps. We'd like to clarify that we can and do ban users that do this. It should be noted however, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the sub and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting. The only way to actually keep people from viewing the sub is by going private - something we've always been committed to not doing in order to keep it accessible for those who need it. If you notice someone soliciting DMs/photos in posts or comments, please continue to report and modmail. We highly recommend directly blocking anyone who actually sends you unwanted DMs.

  2. Crossposts ARE allowed, but they get caught by our AutoMod filters we have in place. We have to manually approve them. Same with any sort of link/photo even if they are not NSFW. We have this in place to avoid NSFW photos showing up in users' feeds.

  3. We will be recruiting more mods soon. We are in process of coming up with screening questions/application for approval. Higher education credentials strongly preferred. Stay tuned for the mod application.

Thanks for you patience with us and for making this a beautiful, supportive, inclusive community. Happy holiday season to all, however you celebrate.

Advice Needed How to make the 😾 smell good (or like nothing)

Hi guys! this is really embarrassing for me (even though it shouldnt be, but idk im AWKWARD) so im on an alt account.

I am 22F and for some reason my no-no square smells off.

I don't drink, do any kind of drug, and im very health conscious (meaning no added sugars, fast food, etc) I eat very well with consistent fruits and veggies. I shower every night and use no harsh soaps on my private area, only water with a gentle no scent soap around the inner thigh and top of it.

I also havent had any sexual encounters in almost 2 years and have tested negative for STDs + have healthy bloodwork. I have healthy periods as well, always around the same time and no intense pain/heavy bleeding

Even with all of this, I still don't smell the greatest or even like nothing :( Please please if you have any tips or suggestions let me know </3 im seeing my long distance boyfriend soon and i do not want to be smelling like fish or musty :(

Question Why am I bleeding during sex without pain, and why does the bleeding continue afterward?

Hi everyone. I'm getting worried because I experienced bleeding while having sex with my partner, but I didn't feel any pain at all. After we finished, I continued experiencing bleeding, and I'm not sure what's causing it.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is it normal to bleed during sex even without pain? What could be the possible causes, and should I be worried if the bleeding continues afterward?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences or any advice you can share. Thank you!

Advice Needed green discharge I'm hella scared

• Upvotes

I don't know where else to go , I don't have a mom to ask this to and I don't wanna talk about this to my family and I'm definitely not going to a doctor or taking antibiotics it sucks

context is uh It's only been three years since I got my period so the cycles are messy and sometimes late , I had this before once , at the most depressive episode of my life mostly when I wouldn't eat anything properly or at least drink only a cup of water for a few days , I wouldn't take showers for months and masturbate like two times a day with a plastic cat pen , ya my discharge at that time didn't even exist I was fully dry and the minimum that would come out was greenish . that was a year ago

I only masturbated once two days ago with the same cat pen , I bleed a little but it didn't hurt , and I didn't drink water for two days until today . I'm a virgin , I barely know anyone or get out of my house I definitely never had sex .

I need advice to get rid of whatever infection I have cuz I don't think just drinking a lot of water will help me that much

How do you make long distance date nights feel less awkward at first

• Upvotes

My boyfriend and I hit the one year mark of doing long distance last month. Flights aren't cheap, so when we finally get a weekend together I think we both put a little too much pressure on making it special.

He brought up trying a couples toy before our last visit. I had never used one before so I was curious but honestly pretty nervous about it.

the first time we tried it, we spent more time figuring out the controls than anything else. we kept messing up the setting and laughing at ourselves. weirdly that helped a lot because it took the pressure off trying making everything feel romantic or perfect.

now that we have back to living in different cities, we have talked about trying the remove control feature during a video call sometime. i like the idea of having something playful to share between visits, but we are still figuring out what feels comfortable for both of us.

for couples doing long distance how did you get comfortable trying new things together? do you usually plan a specific date night for it or does it feel more natural when it happens spontaneously?

Feeling dejected after doctors appointment for constant yeast infections.

I’m looking to vent, get advice, and maybe a little validation.

In the past I’ve only gotten YIs when on antibiotics but I used scented pads purchased on accident in June and got one. I threw out the pads, and cured it myself (as always). Second yeast infection in July, third in August. By the third I went to the doctor who prescribed meds, told me to use Monistat 7 if I got another one, and sent me on my merry way. Fourth YI in early October, got my fifth last night. I said enough was enough and scheduled another appointment with my doctor because clearly something is wrong.

My appointment did not go well. My doctor is amazing but she’s booked out through December so I got an assistant. She told me it was probably just dryness from lack of lubricant and using tampons “too aggressively.” I told her I’ve literally changed nothing about my lifestyle except recently switching to cotton underwear due to the constant YI. She did not believe these were YI since I only got one confirmed (#3). She also told me to visit the website Happy V which just seems to be a site to sell subscriptions boxes.

I wanted to get meds same day so it doesn’t get worse, she refused. I wanted to discuss possibly transferring it to my husband and he’s bouncing it back to me, she did not entertain the theory. I wanted to have a positive discussion but instead I felt unheard, invalidated, insane.

I have yogurt, I bought some probiotic meds, my husband has an app with his doctor to make sure he doesn’t have one he’s transferring to me. I will wait for my positive result and take the meds they prescribe me but I was just wondering if there was anything else I can do? I’m at a loss for why this is happening and at this time there’s not much support from my OBGYN.

Advice Needed Epidermoid cyst near the clit

I’ve had this cyst for about 7 months. It started with severe pain and gradually developed into a 7 mm cyst that looks like a very large white pimple. It clearly protrudes from the skin.

It spontaneously opened once, but even when I tried to empty it, only a little white material came out, and nothing more would come out.

Four doctors have examined it during the 7 month, but none feels comfortable removing it because it’s so close to the clitoris.

It’s really affecting my quality of life. I can only comfortably wear skirts, and I can barely exercise anymore because of the discomfort and pain. It’s starting to take a toll on my mental health, too. I feel frustrated and helpless after dealing with this for so long, especially when I still don’t have a solution.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Did yours go away on its own, or did you eventually have to get it removed? I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences. 🥹

Anyone able to help?

I have had itchiness off and on since June. I’m miserable. I’ve done monistat numerous times and it will help for a week or two then the itchiness comes back. I’ve also used boric acid. I went to my gynecologist as a new patient last month. I had finished monistat about a week before. They checked for BV and yeast and it was negative. Fast forward a couple weeks and the itchiness is awful. I go to urgent care and positive for BV, negative for yeast. I get a script for flagyl and it seems to help for a couple of days but then the itchiness is back even worse. I went to urgent care again, they didn’t do any tests or exams, but said flagyl can cause a secondary yeast infection so they sent a script over for one diflucan. I took that that same morning. Two and a half days later, it’s still really awful so I go back to urgent care a third time. They check for yeast, negative for yeast. They did not check for BV again as I was just finishing the flagyl. They say it’s vulvitis. They give me hydroxyzine to help with the itch and kenalog steroid cream. I go back to my gynecologist and tell them everything, but at that point, I thought the kenalog cream was helping. But literally the next day, the itching is back to being really awful again. My gynecologist is on vacation for a few weeks now so I’m waiting for another provider to help. I see my primary care physician on Friday but their office takes awhile to get lab results back. I am diabetic and I do know I have had high levels of glucose in my urine. I take metformin once daily and have cut out a lot of the sugary stuff I used to eat. I’m at my wits end. It’s been four months of this. Please if anyone has any miracle tips that might help with the itching, I’m so desperate at this point.

How common is pulling out to avoid PH imbalance?

I had some bad experiences getting repeat yeast infections and BV when I started birth control and don’t want that again! I’m worried if I let him finish in me (never have before) it’ll start that whole nightmare again. We currently use condoms (I’m being extra safe since the infections) but I’m thinking of not using them now that my hormones seem to have balanced out from probiotics and switching birth control. I know people say to use boric acid and have all these methods of getting cum out of you or rebalancing your PH but I really don’t want to go through with all that and don’t think it’s worth it, plus I’d be anxious about getting another infection. I’m wondering how common it is to have your partner pull out because of PH worries… and just what other people’s experiences have been with that? Thank you healthyhooha

Need a refresh

Both times from the doctor I have been coming back with UTIs. Here are my symptoms
-smelly periods, like VILE smell, it feels more internal than external cuz even right after i shower my period smells bad.
- smelly pee
- I also get like two cysts in the same spot every once in a while. And they get pretty big but go away as time passes.

Basically what I need is a fresh start.
If someone can just list what I need to buy for cleaning, maintenance. And I know I need to visit the gyno as well

Extreme itching with dry, flaky, peeling skin

The area from the bottom of my labia toward my butt is extremely itchy, to the point that it’s driving me insane! The skin is dry, flaky, peeling, and discolored. Has anyone experienced this? What helped relieve the itching?

Hygiene 🧼 Solution to Onion Vulva/Nipple scent-NOT A SUPPLEMENT

Throw away account for obvious reasons. I see in this group there are so many posts of women suffering through having a musty vulva or nipples having an oniony taste. I just came here to say after years of suffering with the same thing, I found the solution for real! It doesn't require you to take supplements, find a soap that cleans thoroughly!

I started using triple milled soap that I bought on a trip in France to shower. I realized for days when I sweat or workout there was no smell down there or under my armpits. It took me a while to put it together that it was the soap that got rid of the BO smell on my vulva creases/ under breasts. I advise only to use it externally and not on the labia minora, it's a miracle. I'm sure you buy it on amazon. The brand I got isn't sold in the US, but the concept is the same. Happy hunching everyone!

TLDR: Buy yourself some triple milled soap. The bar lasts forever and it cleans very well. You'll feel squeaky clean and confident for someone to go down on you.

I'm going crazy from the itch... please help

I've tested negative for yeast infections, STDs, BV, cytolytic vaginosis, fungal infections, etc. Except this itch keeps. on. coming. back. Started mid-July after a triathlon and has continued since. Worst itching is the week prior and after my period. I do not have any discharge, no smell. I have a Mirena IUD so my period is pretty light and I guess I'll see if I have any reprieve after I get it this week. Vulva seems drier than I can remember from before this started.

I get maybe 3-5 days a month where I don't have some sort of itch. Using All Free & Clear detergent, same body wash/hair products that I have been using for the last 3 years. My previous doctor told me that they can't keep giving me YI meds (becaue they didn't do anything) and I just moved to Hawaii so finding a new doctor might take a bit...

Any tips? I'm at a loss and it's really getting to me.

Girls, how to make your discharge not smell…?

So so so… im a woman (20) and like abt 2-3 months ago i started getting significantly more discharge, and it started smelling fishy, so naturally went to the doctor, she checked and there was nothing wrong…
And then i just kind of let it be. But the amount of discharge is like ruining my unserwear, and have to change 2-3 times a DAY to keep it from smelling like a goddamn sea shore, tried diff soaps for down there, tried no soaps at all and just left it alone, didn’t work and didn’t get better.
asked friends if they had experienced smth similar but haven’t happened to them, then asked my sis and she said she had the same for abt 6 months… and then it went away apparently.

Don’t know what to do, more fruit or cranberry juice smth? Plz help cuz I can’t even wear my fav panties anymore😭

Question What do you wish shaving brands understood about coarse body hair?

Hey everyone! I’m developing a shaving care brand with coarse hair in mind🪒!

The frustration isn’t just shaving but the itching, ingrowns and irritation afterwards. I’d love to hear beyond my own experience before taking things further.

What’s your biggest frustration with shaving, and what have you tried that helped or completely disappointed you?

Would also love some early adopters to test products and share opinions ✨

Advice Needed Vulva Dryness

Hey everyone!

I’m 23 and struggling with vulva dryness pretty consistently for the last 3-4 months. It’s getting really dry/flakey and itchy. It mainly around the clitoris hood and labia majora (at the top crease)

I’ve tried an anti-fungal cream the pharmacist recommended, an ointment but its just temporary relief at the moment. I’ve yet to go to the doctor because i am embarrassed and scared. I know I shouldn’t be but i am.

I’m thinking i could have some hormonal issues maybe, I don’t have ANY sex drive at all, not on any medication, no other issues really to contribute to all that.

Not asking for a diagnosis ahah but has anyone been in this situation? Is there any home remedies you would recommend trying??

Thanks youuu 🫶🏼

Advice Needed Burning and I don’t know why

Helppp

I (20F) have been experiencing burning on my labia minora pretty bad recently.

On October 10, I took my nuvaring out and about a day after the burning started. I put my ring in October 17 and the burning hasn’t stopped.

I will say, I’m pretty bad at drinking water so I’m not sure if my vulva is irritated from concentrate urine, I have to work really long shifts in super thick work pants and I get sweaty, so it’s kind of a moisture nightmare.

I don’t have any sores, pus or bleeding. I don’t have any abnormal discharge or smell.

I know I should probably see a doctor but I’m financially not able to get to an urgent care for a few weeks.
Does this sound like irritation, an STI, UTI?? I’m freaking out

waiting on hsv test results , skin leaking clear / pus-like fluid down there?

hey y’all so at this point idk wtf is wrong but i’m hoping for some answers or guidance if anyone else has been through similar. very long story sorry in advance - 2 weeks ago i took antibiotics for a uti followed by 3 fluconazole pills for YI. i noticed a lott of itching down there (around the clitoris and outer vaginal area) the same day i got the antibiotics which was weird. this went on the entire time i was taking them , even after finishing them and the fluconazole as well. i never noticed any weird discharge, there was a slight fishy or onion like odor so i used a boric acid suppository. fast forward to this past sunday, everything was severelyy itchy like i couldn’t stop myself. and because of that, my skin started becoming raw and red, shiny in some areas and swollen af it was painfulll. and then i noticed my skin on the labia majora was leaking clear fluid, like no color / no smell just clear fluid and it was not discharge. so then i’m like ok i need to go see someone. woke up multiple times sunday night out of pain and itchiness. noticed some scabbing around the clitoris hood and labia lips the next day. went to urgent care with no luck lol they just gave me more meds and sent me on my way which i should have made more clear that my problems were external so that’s probably my fault. monday night was absolutely horrendous , worst pain i’ve ever been in. woke up every 2 hours, had 3 mental breakdowns , almost drove myself to the ER. the pain was like throbbing burning stinging itchy just atrocious.

yesterday (tuesday) i went to the gyno and had it examined , she said i was very swollen, asked about allergies etc and then swabbed the scabs for hsv. still coming to terms with that possibility i definitely cried 20 times. it did shock me cause i didn’t notice any ulcers / bumps / pimples it was just the leaking fluid & scabs and obvious irritation / redness. i know that herpes can look different for everyone but i really thought i just had some weird skin infection. so anyways i’m still awaiting those results and an internal swab test result, she gave me valacyclovir and a lidocaine gel which has been nice but i’m still having the problem of fluid in between the crack of the labia lips and the majora if that makes sense. and now it’s like yellow / pus looking ? i know kinda gross i’m sorry but im genuinely curious if this is a symptom of an outbreak or just from scratching too much down there or if it sounds like a skin infection ? i want to just wait it out and see if it improves but it’s still so painful to walk or sit or stand or do anything i have to waddle around like a fucking penguin with my legs apart. even when i use the lidocaine it does help the surrounding areas but because my skin in between that crack is still so raw and red , it doesn’t do anything to ease the pain. there’s also some reddish bloody spots ? and then idk how it’s supposed to heal because it’s constantly moist. also im supposed to work tomorrow and the thought of walking around all night makes me want to crawl out of my skin😀 all of this is just a mind boggle to me and im trying to figure things out. should i go see someone again or just wait it out ? thank you in advance <3 sorry for the novel <3

Underwear

How would I, a female, stop my underwear from smelling so much? I change multiple times a day and I can smell it through my clothes? Smells tangy
