• Upvotes

Ciao a tutti!

    • Compositori interessati a creare musica originale.

SOMA Body Lab: every hit leaves a mark. Free demo of my physics & anatomy sandbox is now on itch.io

Hi everyone!

I’m Tom, a solo developer from Germany, and I’ve been working on SOMA Body Lab, a realistic 3D body simulation sandbox. Today the free demo is live on itch.io!

What you can do in the demo:

  • 🩻 Skin, full anatomy and X-ray: switch between the three layers in real time with one click: organs, vessels, nerves and the skeleton, all live.
  • 🎯 Ballistics & melee: every bullet is traced through the body from entry to exit wound. Blades cut through skin, muscle, tendon and artery, layer by layer.
  • 📈 A real patient monitor: ECG, SpO₂, breathing, blood pressure, blood loss, shock and consciousness are all calculated live from the injuries, right down to cardiac arrest. Grab the defibrillator and try to bring her back.
  • 🧠 Living reactions: aim at her and she freezes, turns to face you and raises her hands. Hit her leg and she goes down, holds the wound and crawls to the first-aid kit.
  • ⚔️ Battle Mode: a first-person fight against her across four arenas, with cover, grenades and rounds, and she fights back.
  • 🫧 Full-body physics: soft tissue that jiggles and settles, and skin that stretches and folds with every movement.
  • 🎨 Customization: body shape, outfits, colours, patterns and poses.

The demo is free, SFW, runs on Windows as a single portable .exe, and works offline.

⬇️ Download the free demo: https://soma-bodylab.itch.io/soma

SOMA is still in active development and will change a lot, so feedback is gold to me. What feels great, what’s broken, what would you want to see next? There’s a built-in bug report (F9), or come say hi on Discord: discord.gg/TVXqgYREWE

Thanks for reading, and have fun! ❤️

[Hobby / Unpaid] Grimm Pages

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

I am looking for people who are interested in collaborating on an independent game project called Grimm Pages.

The concept

Grimm Pages is a dark fantasy inspired by classic fairy tales, reinvented in a much darker world.

The story follows Prince Charming, a prince from a declining kingdom who embarks on a journey to recover pages written by an ancient playwright named Grimm. It is said that these pages have the power to rewrite the fate of their headlines and give them the happy endings they want.

However, many other fairy tale characters are looking for the same pages, and not all of them can get the happy ending they want.

The game would have characters such as Prince Frog, Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, Momotaro, Sun Wukong, Beauty and the Beast, and many others, each with their own motivations and stories.

The first objective

Instead of trying to build the whole game right away, I would like to start with a small playable demo with Prince Frog as the first boss.

The goal is to create a short but memorable meeting with the boss that can serve as the basis for the broader project.

Who am I looking for?

Unreal Engine 5 developers, especially people familiar with Blueprints.

3D artists interested in dark fantasy characters and environments.

Character animators.

People interested in combat design, sound design, music or other aspects of game development.

About me

I'm new to creating complete games and I'm currently learning how game development works. However, I have previous experience cheering for a Roblox game, where I worked on walking cycles, skills, attacks, static poses and emotes.

I would like to contribute creatively through the construction of the world, character concepts, boss ideas, tradition and writing while I learn more about development, I will be helping as an animator because I have experience.

Transparency

Currently, this is an unpaid hobby project. I don't have funds to pay a team, and I can't promise future income. I hope to find people who really enjoy the concept and would like to collaborate voluntarily, with clear expectations and manageable tasks.

I understand that everyone has their own time and commitments, so I would like to keep the initial reach small and see what we can achieve together.

If the concept interests you, I would love to talk and hear your thoughts!

Thank you for reading!

One month of making my first game, from grey capsules to a 1991 courtyard

A month ago my game was grey capsules on a grid. I was just testing who hits whom.

Every clip in the video is the actual game on that day. I went back through my old builds and recorded each one playing a fight.

It's a comedy turn-based tactics game inspired by Fire Emblem, set in a post-Soviet courtyard in 1991. Solo, in Godot.

What would you focus on next?

CRABOOMs The Stone Crabs

These are Crabooms The Stone Crabs from my first ever game Breakkaboom. I wanted to make a goofy fireworks action roguelite playground. There are a lot of stone creatures I could have added but I had to add some crabs, don't know why! I really enjoyed making this one. And also made an assemble and disassemble mechanism which might be interesting to players.

Solo dev: I gave my bullet heaven a lighting pass (before/after in each biome)

I released Knightime, a 3D low-poly bullet heaven, a couple of weeks ago, and players kept telling me it looked flat. So I spent the last week on lighting: per-biome directional light, ambient gradients, fog, post-processing, a player rim light, and trees that fade out when they block the view.

Biggest lesson: the art didn't need to change, just the light and contrast.

Happy to share how I set it up in URP if anyone is interested. Feedback welcome, especially on readability when the screen is full of enemies.

Looking for Game Development Co-Founders — Multiplayer iOS Superhero Survival Game (Profit Share)

I'm building a multiplayer mobile game concept centered around superhero exploration, combat, and run-based progression. The vision includes a Fortnite-style lobby, large explorable environments, cooperative multiplayer, and persistent upgrades that help players progress further with each run.

I'm looking for:

  • Experienced gameplay and multiplayer programmers
  • 3D environment artists and character artists
  • Developers with Unity/Unreal and mobile game experience

What I bring: I'm the project lead and an active scripter, using AI-assisted coding and hands-on development to help build the game. I'll lead the vision, mechanics, planning, recruitment, and coordination.

Compensation: Profit-sharing/co-development partnership, with percentages and responsibilities agreed upon in writing before substantial work begins. This is an early-stage project without guaranteed upfront pay.

The initial concept is superhero-themed, with official franchise licensing to be explored separately. The immediate goal is to assemble a committed core team and build a playable prototype.

If you're interested, please message me with your role, experience, portfolio, and what you'd like to contribute.

Player research for an Indie Racing Game

I am an indie dev currently working on a racing game, which features portals, a level editor, multiplayer, replay viewer and online leaderboards.

It is in a playable state already, but I'm not sure what would appeal to people, so I made a short questionnare on what people like to see in this genre of games.

Recentemente, comecei a mostrar o processo de desenvolvimento no meu canal, Kitverso, onde compartilho experiências criando jogos, aplicativos e outras ferramentas.
