Today’s update cracks open the Rifts with the new Challenge the Rift Mission encounter, kicks off the Portal Combat Questline and welcomes Grave Feather, Homebase’s newest Hero. Lefty and Righty got faster and stronger, Heroic Hours got their own corner in Homebase and a fresh round of bug fixes got squashed. Details below!
New Mission Encounter: Challenge the Rift
You must have wondered at least once what those Rifts scattered across the world are for. Wonder no more!
When in a Mission, deposit four BluGlo into one to summon a battlefield around it and face a Mini-Boss inside the circle, showdown style. Take it down to claim Gold, PERK-UP! and an Evolution Materials Cache.
Know before you aggravate a Rift:
Anyone can step into the circle to join the fight, but nobody leaves until the Mini-Boss is down.
If you’re eliminated and respawn outside, you won’t be able to re-enter the battlefield.
The barrier blocks all attacks from outside.
Structures and Traps inside the circle are cleared so the fight starts on even footing.
If no one inside is left standing, the Mini-Boss vanishes. No restarts!
New Questline: Portal Combat
The Rifts are definitely acting up… Strange monsters are slipping through, the Storm’s energy is leaking out - and in Hexsylvania, even the local Zombie Chickens are getting infected. Complete the Portal Combat Questline by November 18 to unlock Grave Feather, Homebase’s newest Hero.
New Hero: Grave Feather
Don’t worry… it’s only a nightmare. This Legendary Soldier boosts Lefty and Righty’s Crit Rating, with a chance to summon a Phantasm to hunt down nearby enemies.
Standard Perk: Ghoulslinger
Increases Lefty and Righty Crit Rating by 15.
Commander Perk: Ghoulslinger+
Increases Lefty and Righty Crit Rating by 45. Crits have a 40% chance to summon a Phantasm, dealing Energy damage to a nearby enemy.
Lefty and Righty Buffed
The pistols come out faster, and they stay out longer! We’ve reworked the ability’s uptime Perks to allow you to use it more frequently without the elimination part:
Double Agent Evelynn's "Where's Lefty" Perk now gives a percentage cooldown reduction to Lefty and Righty - 30% as a Support Perk and 66% when slotted as Commander.
Noir’s “Pump Metal” Perk now increases Lefty and Righty’s duration by a flat 5 seconds or 20 as Commander.
These targeted buffs bring both Perks in line with their Goin’ Commando counterparts - “Goin’ Again” and “Ain’t Done Yet”.
New Heroic Hours Homebase Section
Heroic Hours now have their own corner in Homebase! You’ll find a new display above the Quest Log board, showing what Heroic Hours are happening and exactly how long remains on the clock.
The Door to Darkness Questline Returns
Something’s knocking at the Door of Darkness, and a ghost named Willow wants to keep it shut. Complete the Questline to earn Gold, Candy and the Willow Hero.
Willow
This Legendary Outlander from the Fortnitemares Heroes set hits harder the closer she is to becoming a ghost herself - her ability damage rises as her health drops.
Standard Perk: Ghoulish Cackle
Increase ability damage based on the percentage of your missing health.
Commander Perk: Ghoulish Cackle+
Increase ability damage based on the percentage of your missing health. In addition, ability eliminations have a chance to conjure a Phantasm, dealing Energy damage to a nearby enemy.

i cant even count how many ruined houses and shacks ive walked into that shouldve counted and i couldnt even replace this quest since i was getting worse ones too and had to replace those instead 💔
I didn't believe it, so I recorded a few short clips opening birthday llamas, and oh, surprise, it is true! Starter packs are now in the birthday llamas. I went looking for Machinist Mina and the Dinamod reskin, but I had no luck with that schematic—I guess I'll have to wait until the next birthday llamas.
By the way, I didn't have any of the starter packs, and at the end of the video, you can see that the only thing I missed was the trap schematic (I got Machinist Mina, but the collection book doesn't show it for some reason 🤷♂️).
Good luck to everyone, and I hope you guys get everything too.
I don’t know what happened : the game ended and the ammunition crafting process started automatically and ramped up exponentially (like the crafting key was blocked). It’s impossible to cancel the crafting processes until you’ve returned to Home Base. My game is up to date, the bug occurred on PC and I’ve never come across this problem before.
160 evacuate shelter. I was doing challenge the rift and it took quite a time so i was like, "Rather than left, i just lose and back to lobby."
But no, the husks seems piled up at the beginning, disappeared and respawn again and decide to go after me and defenders. And then the timer ran out and won.
Maybe yall experts can explain why? They seemingly didnt go to shelter when me and my defender standing further away from the objective.
Is it something to do with husks pathing? Since no buildings to attack? Oh, the flingers and lobbers still fling it to objective but when i take a few step forward, they throw it at me.
Or it has been a thing? Idk.
Ps. The graphic quality is a choice cuz my non gaming laptop is 10yrs old.
Post your ways here to make it even worse. Which weapons and heroes can be ruined more! Do you think there’s too much chain lightning? Let’s help the devs!
I usually run 0% packet loss but all of a sudden last Sunday I started running packet loss. I couldn't figure out why any and all help is greatly appreciated
I was doing the 124 Repair mission and every time I used the Surround Pound's heavy attack, instead of making Propane Huskies dance and drop the tank it would instead set off the propane tank. This never happened before the update. Why does Epic need to break everything 😭
Here again is a list of the problems I still personally experience myself with matchmaking and from talking with friends who play, all also suffer from the same when trying to play with friends sometimes.
Cannot join friends in any Atlas based mission once objective starts, matchmaking throws an error.
Players can force an entire party to restart their game by cancelling their ready up on the reward screen at the right time.
Memory leak as a result of playing STW that can result in game crash, severe slowdown and network timeouts trying to play another mode (like creative) without restarting Fortnite first.
Playing STW in a party of friends always fails matchmaking in some way after 4 or 5 games resulting in all players having to restart game.
The oversized messaged related to friends joining a party in the top left corner do not correctly show the joining members name.
Being invited by a friend playing STW can result in any of the following conditions;
Players in the same parties being in separate Homebase's with no way to correct without restarting.
After leaving a party while in Homebase you visually remain it the party and still see the players from the party you left in Homebase. You are effectively still in the party on one level but not on another.
Player being in Homebase with no way to launch into mission while other players in party are in the mission.
Some players being in BR lobby thinking they are waiting for a player to ready up while the players in question is already in Homebase thinking they are waiting for other players in party to ready up. This can also happen when some players are in the mission.
Restarting the game due to matchmaking issues and being put into a party instead of spawning solo into the BR lobby.
When trying to join a mission after being invited by friends already in one, first the player may be put info Homebase solo, then being put into BR lobby after trying to join mission, and finally taking 2 attempts to join mission from BR lobby before actually getting into the mission.
Players ending up being stuck in a loop with the game saying preparing to connect.
Epic games seem to no longer acknowledges these bugs exist at this point with their matchmaking system despite the multiple reports that happen through their in game reporting, discord and reddit including this sub. The missing known issues section of the v42.40 patch notes sums it up.
6 second cooldown. Shreds structures. Takes down 160 Smashers with ease. Cannonballs split up and explode just like the Jabberwocky’s cannonballs. In tunnels and enclosed areas the cannonballs bounce around and explode and shred everything living lol. Just an idea if you never tried Buccaneer Ramirez. I hadn’t and didn’t know the cannonballs split up and explode! Pretty fun!
I wanted to see a storyline, after backing from BR or something cool in new questline, they even write about this in twitter status and they give us only encounter with mini-boss
