Has anyone experienced consistently insane CPMs across different campaigns, regardless of the product or creative?
I’ve had my Meta ad account for about a week and a half and have already spent over $1,000 on advertising. I’m starting to wonder if there’s something wrong with the account itself.
Here’s what I’ve experienced across four completely different products:
Campaign 1: $80–$110 CPM
Campaign 2: $120+ CPM
Campaign 3: ~$200 CPM
Campaign 4: $340+ CPM
My setup:
US broad targeting, 18+
Sales objective, optimizing for purchases
Highest Volume bidding
$50–$100/day budgets
Multiple video creatives per campaign
Some of my ads are getting 3–5%+ link CTR, so I’m getting engagement, but the CPMs are so expensive that CPCs are often $5–$10+.
Here’s the weirdest part:
Meta is also burning through my budgets extremely quickly. My latest campaign spent $43 in approximately 3 hours on a $100/day budget, while delivering very few impressions.
I’ve also had payment-verification flags on the account previously. Meta Support claims everything is resolved now, but I have no idea whether that could have affected delivery.
I understand that CPMs depend on competition, creative quality, audience, and other auction factors. However, seeing consistently high CPMs across four unrelated products makes me question whether something else is going on.
Questions for experienced media buyers:
1. Is this normal for an ad account that’s only 1.5 weeks old, even after spending $1,000+?
Have you experienced unusually high CPMs across multiple campaigns because of an account-specific issue?
Can previous payment-verification problems or limited account history affect auction performance?
Has anyone compared identical campaigns across two unrestricted ad accounts and noticed significantly different CPMs?
Would you continue advertising on this account or test another one?
I’m not looking to bypass restrictions or find some magic trick. I’m genuinely trying to figure out whether this is normal for a new advertiser or whether my ad account has an underlying issue.
If you’ve experienced something similar and found a solution, what actually fixed it?
