Humor 9 Daughters No Sons
I'm choosing to see the funny side of this, but it's also very annoying haha!
Perhaps the 10th child will be a son.

R5: title
Version is 1.4.1, other institutions did not have any problems but I think this is a bug.

You can all look forward to it: EU5 Globe
As it says in the title, I'm confused about the actual impact of Burghers Trading on my country's/location's income. I know that Burghers will import and export extra goods based on Pop Needs, but on patch 1.4.1. there doesn't even seem to be any way to see what they're actually trading.
It used to be that Burgher Trades show somewhere in the Market Panel next to regular trades. Right now the only information available is the total Burghers Trade Capacity with a breakdown of capacity at each location - though hovering at the corresponding capacity X doesn't actually explain why is it exactly "X" at that location. One can only speculate it's related to Burgher pop count and Marketplace building levels.
It's extra confusing because the Wealth tooltip also says Burghers Trades can contribute to Wealth at the location, but it doesn't actually say how much it contributes to each location's wealth.
With that in mind it could actually be the play to expand Marketplaces if you're staring as a country with very powerful Noble Estate and low Peasant Enfranchisment (expanding RGOs will just transfer ~90% of the income to Nobles, whom you can barely tax).
Anyone here knows something more about this topic?

I have a Florence play through, big chunk of northern Italy, massive colonial empire spanning half the world, great economy.
But I’m bored, any small county in Italy the whole world joins against me 1M plus troops, and even if I declare war against Naples more or less the same thing.
I’m genuinely don’t know what to do next to add a bit of spice to my game, conquer the mayas? And Mesoamérica? Reach the indies and bring back all the pepper? Try to slug out Italy?

Ostrog now gives you 60 proximity, but you can only build it in the Urals or Siberia.
I think it's a great change that makes Siberian expansion viable: no need to waste precious governors on it.

What do I do now? I keep getting "propose ruler" requests from other countries, but I want someone of my culture and religion. How do I get an heir/ruler that's Sunni and Turkish? (This happened RIGHT after I started this war btw lol)

Can someone explain to me why cities don't lose buildings and development after being occupied for a long time? It's completely ahistorical. Cities often had to be rebuilt after wartime destruction, and some never recovered from it. I understand reducing prosperity, but there should be actual physical destruction in locations. This isn't just an issue with EU5, but also CK3 and Victoria 3.

I’m playing as Norway. Every time I win a war, my income is roughly cut in half due to maintenance costs from the new territory. Even though I got their control over 50% with governors and proximity, literally all of it, and I’m still at a huge net loss from where I started and soft-capped on vassals.
Does anyone know what control level the break even point is to get past building maintenance? The “it increases demand and thus makes profit” building thing that’s going around just seems to not be true, at least around this age and conditions.

Hi everyone! I’ve never played grand strategy games like EU5 or anything similar before. I only have a few hundred hours in Hearts of Iron IV.
Could you recommend a country for a complete beginner? I’m looking for a nation that would let me take my time and learn the mechanics, including things like trade, without being under too much pressure.
I tried starting as Kyiv, but things went completely wrong, and now I’m just sad :(
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

So playing as Georgia I eventually got a Greek revolt where a bunch of my Greek territories revolted and automatically became the vassal of another Greek nation Cyprus. The revolt was quickly crushed, however when I click annex revolter, I don’t get any of my rebelling lands back, they remain independent and a vassal of Cyprus, and I would be forced to gain huge amount of aggressive expansion to reannex my rebelling provinces which is completely unfair, I just arbitrarily lose my lands and have no way of getting them back again without cheats.
I had this happened before in a France campaign where a bunch of my Castilian land revolted and became a part of Castile again who automatically declares war on me, and after crushing them the land isn’t reannexed I’m forced to either arbitrarily lose that land or just retake all that land and aggressive expansion again for no reason.

From my mamluke campaign in the latest 1.4.1 beta.
Japan unified and ate all of Korea, big ming that doing well financially (unfortunately they never get out of their disaster as they never have high celestial authority nor do they ever complete the cabinet action), big Orissa allied with me while I'm trying to eat India for fun, big Timurid monarchy doing very well financially and militarily.

Building Mason in location with greenland market should reveal the market center but you should be kingdom at this point to range greenland
Attack Greenland without CB. offer concession war reps, money, Optionally if you want diseases give atleast 3 provinces bordering your lands and 3 subjects

50 Prestige: Tenochtitlan will have some prestige events ranging from 20 to 30, when it fires, that is time to upgrade, get 2 wars with one or more alliances and humiliate them seperately
Population Requirement: We need 1 mil accepted/primary culture, Textcoco and Tenochtitlan Province should have 65%+, subjugate Guamare people in Pechitane Province and accept them, that should give 35%+ pops needed.
Main Source are SOPs, I got mine via war with SOPs, but focus on maps necessary to your goals and do use extra diplomats to spy on SOPs to steal maps, Tenochtitlan has modifiers to facilitate spy construction and you should have a century to explore and colonize all before colonizers arrive.
Some Headsup:
Final Thoughts:
I had played very inefficiently and got into unnecessary goals such as losing to civil war to reset original capital to east coast for extra advances, so if you plan properly you should be able to do this earlier than me.

If you dont start as Naples or the HRE Emperor. Ive played Venice twice and both times the Situation just fizzled out. I can pull Ghibellines into my faction through warfare because the Emperor is going to steal my lunch, and the AI seems to just switch between factions with no goal in mind. Even when the Ghibellines were most powerful, with Naples, Sicily, Florence, Milan and Bohemia, they still didnt seem to be generating enough monthly progress to actually win the situation. Is it just broken?

Playing as Naples and struggling to get the economy going early game. Or is it just the way it is now? Thanks

I know, you need to revoke the priviliges of the estates to make your crown power higher. But the problem is. If I revoke their privilges they are gonna end up fucking mad and I will get 0 taxes. So I try to keep a delicate balance of keeping beneficial priviliges to tax them. Yet it reduces my crown power.
How do I solve this dillema? Because the laws you pass often hurts estate satisfaction like Favor the Ruler, Education of the People, those two are my favs.
