Question What makes certain legendary weapons better than others ?

Im a newbie just got the game a couple weeks ago and have been heavily relying on suggestions from others as far as what weapons i should be using. im honestly not too sure what the criteria for good vs just ok weapons is. Is it just the perks that roll on that weapon and how they interact with your build ?

Currently playing crackshot hunter with festival flight, yeartide apex with heal clip and incandescent and truth laucher with catalyst.

Question PC forcefully reboots/BSOD at Destiny 2 character select screen

Since around July or August of this year, whenever I launch Destiny 2, my PC either forcefully reboots or throws a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) right as it transitions to the character selection screen.

This happens whenever I update my graphics driver. If I roll back to NVIDIA version 610.74, the game runs perfectly fine.

Does anyone know what the issue could be? It's really frustrating to be stuck on an outdated graphics driver just for this one game.

Aside from rolling back the driver, I've tried almost every solution floating around the internet, but nothing has worked. Even on the rare occasion the game does run, my PC will forcefully reboot while I'm joining an activity.

I'm not even getting a specific BSOD error code to look up, so it's giving me a massive headache. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

I’m a returning player from years ago and had to start a new account. I got a hunter and titan up to 460 so far but I was looking to do VoG raid and I can’t find the legends tab to get into it. Also looking for a sherpa to help me get through it first time.

Discussion Renegades' Plot is Rather Contrived.

The general consensus of the community is that the nature of Renegades as a Star Wars expansion was a significant narrative detriment, especially in how it reshaped the Praxics and the Dredgens. I vehemently agree with this, but excluding that, is Renegades' story actually any good?

Renegades has a lot of rather convenient things. For starters, Nightfall Station.

Nightfall Station was able to be built so fast because the Nine were able to IIRC create a pocket dimension where time moves far faster. Now, this is the opposite of how increased gravity actually affects things, but more importantly it raises the question of why they don't do it again/more often if they're capable of it?

And then of course, Eclipse. Brand new energy type that just so happens to completely destroy Paracausality itself while being Causal. I needn't explain why this is convenient. I have seen a theory suggesting it might be a variation of what Nezarec's Nightmares are sourced from based on design and sound cues, which would be a far cooler direction, but the foundation of that theory is shaky.

You could also argue that the way the syndicates treat us makes no sense, considering how legendary the guardian is, but that ties back into Bungie trying to make it akin to Star Wars.

Lastly, the City. Political Unrest is an interesting idea, but the execution is sketchy at best, as it relies on the Vanguard suddenly acting like tyrants and not working to create any form of elected leadership.

Credit where it's due though, Bael's general story when viewed alongside the MoT additions is neat, even if his characterization if a straight rip-off of Kylo Ren.

Question Overwhelmed

So I just got a ps5 hand-me-down and downloaded d2 which was in the library. There's so much stuff. I'm already old and confused generally so it's overwhelming. What's the best way to approach this? Do crucible, gambit, ops or just focus on one thing.? I don't have many of the newer downloads. Should I get them or wait? It looks like it's going to be fun but tense. Is the matchmaking skill based or random? Any direction is helpful. Thanks.

Discussion Why does No Land Beyond feel bad to use compared to D1?

I'm a controller player and always have been. Back in D1, I used to be absolutely cracked with NLB. In fact, I remember having skirmish matches (3v3) where everyone left the match except for me and the other NLB user on the other team. It felt so good to use but now it doesn't.

I think it needs a change. Like, I don't know what it is, maybe I'm going insane (possible), but has anyone else felt this about NBL now? I feel like I have to hard scope down lanes to get a kill in PvP and I'm pretty good with a sniper. Just not this NLB for some reason.

Question Need help with clan member promotions

• Upvotes

I gave clan founder status to another active player in my clan so I could leave to join another clan for clan triumph runs (our clan doesnt have enough active members). When i rejoined my old clan the founder was unable to promote anyone they only had the option to demote to beginner. They werent even able to promote another admin only demote. We have tried using the companion app but same thing and we cant seem to promote thru the website as it doesnt have an option to promote ppl. Is there a wait period for new founders to promote ppl.

Question Destiny 1 Factions Query

Recently picked up destiny and can't find a conclusive answer to a query. So I joined FWC faction to unlock tier 3 legendary weapons did so within 4-5 days topped up with donations. I now want to join another faction and do the same so I left the FWC faction. How soon can I now join another faction?I realise you can only change once per week but does it take into account the 5 days so 2 days left.Or is there a certain day I can do this or do I now have to wait a full week from leaving the previous faction? Thanks for any help!

Discussion Constant weasel errors when doing solo ops and only solo ops

Playing on Steam with the SteamFix. When playing any other activity (Gambit, campaign, patrols, strikes, etc) there is no issue whatsoever in Destiny 2. However, if I do a solo ops it WILL disconnect me every single time without fail and give this error.

I always know ahead of time it will happen because the enemies will stop moving and stop taking damage for 10 seconds and then booted.

What the actual hell is wrong with the servers? Cause Destiny 1 on PS5 also has nothing but issues. No other games have any problems.

Discussion Any chance of new content?

First, I've never played this game before.

I hear that the dev declared the end of update in this June but they decided to maintain and update the game in September.

Recently I have been looking for new game and this game came to my mind.

But if there won't be any new contents, I would not give a try because such thinf matters quite a lot for me personally.

Do you guys think there is any chance of new contents soon?

Question Questions about new characters and obtaining subclasses

Hello Guardians, returning player from curse or Osiris.

Had to start all over and have been working through the timeline, currently on Final Shape.

I am using a hunter but also want Titan and Warlock and I my question is: What do I need to replay?

Can things be skipped? Do I have to pay to skip?

Hoping for a conclusive answer as with the MOT update Ai and older posts are confusing.

Appreciate the help!

Question The Dying dream ornament can appear in the bright dust offer on eververse?

I just discovered that by buying an ornament of an exotic weapon attached to some season unlocks it for you without the needing to spend silver and I really love the season of the wish armor. There used to be some website to track what was going to be im the eververse store but I can’t remember the name of it anymore.

Question Nezarec's Sin: Old v. New

I've come back after walking away back in 2021, so I'm still getting some feel for the new Armor 3.0. Up until Stasis was available, I pretty much split my time between Void and Arc. Sorry, I hate playing Solar 'lock.

I've got a question on the Voidlock. My favorite armor was Nezarec's Sin. I'd combine that with overcharged Axion Bolts plus Cataclysm Nova Bombs and it was brutal. Didn't get as many kills, perhaps, but that was because I was tanking on the big guys. :-)

This brings me to my question...

I did an infuse on my old Nez and it is still giving me a brutal build. However, Xur has the new version and I have the Strange Coins. Is it really worth it to get the new version? I did some searching and couldn't find much discussion on it. So, if you play a Void'lock regularly, what are your thoughts?

Many thanks!

Media My most consistent method for yeeting Morgeth in Pantheon Encore this week

https://youtu.be/qS8a6uYd0a4?is=dsJsisYtjsBND-B1

I was able to yeet Morgeth hundreds of times this week for people on LFG. This method seemed very consistent. I had feats 1, 2, and 4 on for T5 loot. This isn't really a guide, but just what worked best for me. Got on some 8-10 streaks without failing using this method. Spanking Morgeth seems to work better than a dick twist. Lmk if you want me to yeet for you

Guide Guardian's Field Guide - instruction booklet for new and returning players with what to do, how things work, and story recaps

I've been slowly putting together a guide the past few months in my spare time, and this week finally got it to a point where the main sections are relatively complete, so I wanted to share here in case it's useful for anybody picking up the game from the recent sales or coming back after being gone for years. It's available at:

https://guardians.guide/

  • Guided Path: Beginning the game, general recommended quest order, other activities, and endgame stuff to work towards
  • Manual: Quick reference for how different parts of the game work such as gear, combat, progression, and more
  • Story: Complete brief timeline to get caught up on the story of Destiny, with character descriptions and related content lists
  • Major Changes: Listing of major features and updates added in each expansion (helpful for returning players)
  • Extra: Additional resources and information that are more useful once you've gotten a little familiar with the game

I always felt like Destiny is a game that would benefit from those little physical booklets you used to get in the front cover of the game box, full of short descriptions for the story and characters, how your character works, what there is to do, and other bits of info. And so after Monument of Triumph was announced I started to write down a couple ideas and eventually put this site together.

My goals with this guide are:

  • Enable players to quickly get up to speed and playing the game, rather than going through lengthy guides
  • Cover questions that I see very often from new and returning players
  • Focus on core game mechanics and knowledge rather than detailed guides for specific content
  • Provide enough information to equip players to go discover the game on their own and have fun!

Hopefully there are some Guardians out there who will find it useful! Let me know if you feel it could be improved or new additions added. I have some ideas for extra pages, but I've gotten busier lately and I wanted to publish what I have so far. Whenever the original campaigns are restored I'll definitely be updating the story page :)
