face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Have had a spot I keep scratching for 4 years, derm thinks cancer and surgery needed. Any insight?

He said he believes with certainty that this is squamous cell carcinoma; I’ve been ignoring this spot for 4 years, it appeared after my scalp became inflamed from a bad bleach job, and it’s healed once into a squishy mole like thing. It bleeds insanely when I scratch it which I do quite often; pic 1 is from a year ago pic 2 from today
Samples sent today to determine if and what cancer but I am really hoping it’s just an infected gland or something
Does anyone have any insight? Very afraid I have cancer

Hello , I woke up with this pimple in my nose and its been bothering me all day. I had nothing yesterday so I guess it came over night. I’ve avoided touching it but It’s really bothering me. I usually get acne near my nose but never IN it and It’s never this red and enflammed. I have medical anxiety so this has been stressing me out all day. I’m wondering what to do about it? Should I see a doctor, put a pimple patch , pop it?

This has appeared on my face a few weeks ago I think? It’s quite rough on the surface. It feels quite dry too. I think I do have some keratosis on my chest too but because it’s on my face, I am a bit concerned. I will get it checked out but just wanted some opinions.

arms/hands Question: What is wrong with my nails?

Thumbnail

Since I was teen I started having issues with a nail on my right hand. I've never cared enough to get it fixed or have just put it off. I'm 40 and now all my fingers on my right hand are affected, my middle finger has gotten to a point it's deformed and the nail will just lift to the point I can pull it out.

I'm genuinely disgusted enough to want it fixed, but the PCPs I've seen have not been able to diagnose it.

What I'd it that I have on my nails and how can I fix it if possible at this point?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

arms/hands I’ve had these itchy spots on my arm for about a 3 years

It’s only on my forearms and on my wrist. They started to appear about 3 months after I moved to Texas and have steadily been spreading since. They have moments of when they’re rough, dry, and even bleeding but most times it’s just very itchy.

It hurts when it comes in contact with anything other than water. I’ve been told it’s because of my soda or coffee intake but for a year I cut those out my diet and the areas haven’t changed at all. Most creams don’t do anything side from irate it

It’s starting to get pointed out by people (yes, 3 years later) and it makes me insecure.

What should I do, how can I either get rid of or at least lighten the area?

legs/feet Painful sores on one thigh after shaving — any ideas?

Thumbnail

I’ve developed several round, painful sores on one thigh and near my groin. They started as tiny, pimple-like bumps (one or two extra appear per day) that became inflamed after scratching. Some have crusted over and leaked clear fluid. They swell up and there is some redness around them (ignore the bright red, it’s just monkey blood😅).

I recently shaved both legs and wore stockings the next day, but the bumps only appeared on one leg.
I’ve also experienced fever, headaches, body aches and a heavy feeling in my leg.

This started happening about a week ago.

My son had similar-looking sores a few months ago and was diagnosed with adenovirus.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Could this be folliculitis, a skin infection, mpox, or something else? Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated!

Also, please ignore the bright redness, I used Monkey Blood on it.

(19M) I just got out of the shower and I found this brown line, I tried washing it because I thought it was a smear. In real life you can notice it more, it ends pretty much where the image ends. Is it something I should be worried about or is it normal?

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks what is this inside my ear?

so I recently I noticed I kind of had insane pores inside my ears. I had just never seen that before. But then today I saw, at first what I thought was a big scab. and then I took a photo of it and I’m hoping it’s a blackhead, but even still it looks really gross. I’m obviously trying to fight the urge to pick at it. What should I do? Do I need to go to a dermatologist?

Maybe this is normal? I’m not applying my skin care routine to my ears. Should I be??

arms/hands Weird bubbly calluses?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey! I’ve had this super weird skin condition ONLY on my left thumb for maybe about 10 months now, maybe longer. They’re like little calluses, scabs and small blisters. Sometimes they hurt sometimes they just feel like little bubbles of dead skin. They’re only on the inner side of my left thumb, going down to the crease where the thumb bends. I don’t have any similar skin conditions anywhere on my body and I’m so so so confused and really want to figure this out and get it treated as soon as possible, as recently wearing gloves more (I’m a healthcare worker) has really been irritating it. Thanks!

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks This mole looks fine, right?

Thumbnail

My husband wants me to get this mole looked at. I’ve had it for many, many years but he said he thinks it’s gotten bumpy. (We’ve been together for 15 years and I’ve had it the whole time). While I agree it’s maybe slightly bigger, I think that’s just happened with time and is probably just bad memory on our end. We can’t really afford to pay for a DERM appt unless it really is necessary, and I just don’t think it is. Are there any doctors here who would suggest their patient get the mole evaluated based on these pictures?

Disclaimer: I completely understand that pictures don’t share the whole story, that no one online can tell me one way or the other, and that I have to be the one responsible for my own healthcare. I am just looking for general opinions from people who know more than I do. TIA.

scalp Got my hair pulled out multiple times over 2 days

23f, I’m so upset I can barely write this. I keep almost forgetting about it and laughing for a moment, then loooking in the mirror, and it just eats me up. I can’t barely do this I need it back I need my hair back. I really need some advice and maybe a reality check, no sugar coating just because I’m upset, on if it’ll ever actually come back as pretty and dense as ir was before. I’m soooo heart broken I haven’t been able to stop crying or sleep.

Title is the story. Was violently attacked over two days and was dragged/slammed my my hair over and over and just otherwise attacked pretty severely. The bald spots are kind of every where but this is the one most easily photographed and really makes the difference in my hair imo..

I had shaved my head with my grandmother before she passed of pancreatic cancer in 2021 and pretty much let it grow out till then without any dye until maybe the past year and I would only dye it black. Overall I was always told how thick and beautiful my hair was, even when I was feeling like maybe it wasn’t.

I have been on Semaglutide since April, and I have lost 85lbs since 1/1/26.
I had already noticed my hair thinning and was worried so I started taking Lustriva and kirkland multivitamin. I use The Ordinary hair serum daily. For my shampoo and conditioner I use the garnier whole blends honey treasures.

I’m going to start a fish oil pill or maybe pumpkin seed oil, hair oiling before washes with pumpkin seed oil and rosemary essential oil, dove bond repair hair mask, and I’m considering reaching out to a dermatologist and getting on minoxidil or something of the sort (I can’t take it topically because I have 4 cats). I know all these products aren’t great quality but I’m so broke atm.

But my questions are:
Will it come back the same way it did? Do I need to get a hair transplant if I ever want it back without taking meds daily? What can I/should I do now?! Please please please help me I’m so devastated

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks 1st pic- behind ear irritation now CLEAR 2nd pic- it is now inside of my ears and nose! Doctors have given me steroid creams- not helping.

Thumbnail

I genuinely need suggestions. The steroid creams don’t help. It goes away and then comes back. It’s the worst it’s ever been. I can’t get into the doctors until end of week but my ears are itching, oozing liquid, scabbing, my nose bleeds, itchy and so dry. I wake up every morning with a scabbed nose and irritation. Is this something worth going to the ER for? Or wait until my appointment with the ENT? Or just dermatologist? Has anyone had a similar experience? This started behind my ears and now those randomly cleared up on their own, but now has traveled to the inside of my ears and nose.

general enquiry Can’t figure out where our baby is getting these bug bites(?) from.

Thumbnail

He’s almost 7 months old and has had these pretty bad for the last couple of weeks. He would get them here and there before that, but never this bad. We thought it might be an allergic reaction/skin sensitivity (laundry detergent? Food? Fabric? Etc.), but the doctor said they were definitely bug bites. He doesn’t seem to be bothered by them (not scratching at them or anything). They seem to show up everywhere, but especially on his thighs/torso/upper arms.

We do have 3 dogs but we don’t see any bugs on them (and wouldn’t we have bites too? They sleep in bed with my husband and me, so you’d think we’d have them). And we do give them Simparica Trio.

I’ve never seen any bugs in his room but he does sleep on a floor bed. I’ve checked the corners for spiders/cracks/holes, etc. And I’ve tried to note when the bumps show up throughout the day. They don’t usually show up right away in the morning. I also slept on his bed for about an hour last night, and didn’t get any bites.

I’ve washed all of his stuff in very gentle detergent, but it’s still happening. We started giving him solid foods about a month ago, so could it be hives? Like I said, the doctor was emphatic that it’s bug bites, but I just literally can’t figure out where the bugs are??

no nips included but i tagged it anyway bc boobs.

literally appeared within the past 8 hours, i showered this morning and it wasn't there. dried myself off like normal (i'm always VERY thorough with drying under my boobs because they are really big and saggy)

it's only on one boob, and my stomach also has a weird line down it but it's nowhere near as bad. both hurt like a mfer though, they throb when i'm not cradling my boob.

the first photo is when i first noticed, the second and third are about an hour later after i put some baby powder on it because it was WET

it hurts constantly, it's hot, peeling, and it's already damp again after the baby powder

and i need to stress i have changed NOTHING in my life. same hygiene routine, same medications for the past several months, didn't even leave the house today and ate food i've eaten a million times before. i'm pissed this hurts

i don't even care if yall know exactly what it is just tell me if my boob is gonna fall off

I started working 12 hours for 3 days, off for 4 days. It is a picking warehouse job and I sweat a decent amount. My bras are polyester I believe, not sure if switching to an all cotton one would work. It is sometimes itchy, scaley dry skin, really red as you can see, burns when i itch sometimes. It goes down a lot of my days off work but still slightly red and itchy, then comes back like in the photos by the end of my 3 days working the 12 hours. Haven't tried anything as i wanted to make sure what i try wont make it worse. I plan to go to urgent care to see what they think tomorrow but I am not aure if that is necessary.

Im like 100% sure it is ringworm cuz what else would it be. Just need confirmation i guess cuz i be tripping out abt stuff like this. last thing i needed rn istg. I guess i will just pick up some anti fungal cream or smthn from cvs. Please let me know of any recommendations (i already googled it obv but incase there’s some hidden gem for this)

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Chronic scalp, ear, and facial skin issues; looking for advice

Thumbnail

I’ve had this skin problem for about 2–3 years, and nothing I’ve tried has resolved it. The affected areas are my scalp, hairline, behind my ears, and inside my ears.
The skin is extremely dry and itchy and produces a fine, white, powdery flaking. I’ve tried several dandruff shampoos, including Nizoral, as well as tea tree oil and Cetaphil on my face. I’ve also tried petroleum jelly and prescription steroid creams on and behind my ears and on hairline. One prescription cream I’ve tried is desoximetasone 0.25% cream. Nothing has provided lasting relief.
I’ve seen my doctor about this three times, but I haven’t been referred to a dermatologist yet. I’m trying to push for a referral because this has been going on for years and is really bothering me. I’m itching and in pain.
Around the same time this skin issue developed, I also began having persistent redness across my cheeks. (Not shown here) Occasionally, small pimples or bumps appear within the red areas.
I’m wondering what conditions might cause this combination of symptoms. Is there anything else I should ask my doctor to evaluate, or any reason to push for a dermatology referral more urgently?
I appreciate any insight or suggestions for what to discuss with my doctor.

arms/hands This big blisters for few weeks, results negative.

I had this big blister on back of left hand on 28 September 2026. Nurse poke it to let fluid out. Applied fodacort on deblister spots. I also did IIF Skin antibody. BP180 and BP230 test. It came out negative on 19 October 2026. On 16 October I started having itchy symptoms on both forearm. The itchy sensation feel like coming from inside. 17 October it started growing big blisters. By today I have several blisters on both forearms. My derm had no idea what is it since Bulluos Pemphigoid blood test negative. She decided to put me on Cephalexin antibiotics, Pemasol for washing Fodacort cream for external deblister and some rashes. I also be doing skin biopsy this Thursday. My worry are starting antibiotics since there could be lingering staph bacteria in my body. I had a staph strep bacterial infection that leak to pus wound on both palm in August 2026. But it doesn’t look like the current blisters. Is there a possibility there will be false negative in all 3 test? IIF Skin Antibody, BP180 and BP230?

back Kinda spooked about this mole, does it look serious?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I'm 37f.

Location: Back.

Duration: I think this popped up about 5 years ago, but I really noticed it about 3 years ago when it was the size of a pencil eraser.

Timeline: it has very slowly gotten bigger in that time. Like, a mm or 2.

Symptoms: Has itched maybe a couple times over the years but isn't consistent. It's a bit bumpy and I guess asymmetrical...

Treatments tried: I've started using SPF, being a perpetual hermit, and I put a dime next to it

Relevant background: has been supplied above

Does this look serious?

Plantar Wart?

Hello,

Had warts for 2 years all over my feet and finally got rid of them completely about 5 months ago with non stop Fluoracil and leukold tape treatment. Got this little hole on my foot a few weeks back and I of course thought it was a wart so went right back to treatment due to my PTSD of warts. Now that I did my first debridement I really can’t tell if it was/is a wart or was just a hole in my foot. My feet are really calloused as I wear work boots 6/7 days a week for long hours. Any insight would be helpful!

Thank you

Hello everyone,

I just noticed this today on the back of my left leg/calf. It’s not itchy whatsoever and I don’t believe it was there 2 months ago when I was last at the dermatologist. I coincidentally have another appointment next week where I’ll bring this up. Just figured I’d ask around and see what people think.

Other than existing, there are no associated symptoms. For context, I am on Bimzelx to treat severe plaque psoriasis and this is in an area that previously had psoriasis-affected skin. However, it never looked anything like this and the rest of my leg remains clear other than residual pink hues left behind.

Let me know what you think! I appreciate it.
