HSV1 positive: had maybe an small outbreak 4 years ago (never swabbed)

Noticed this spot a couple hours ago, no burning or tingling. Wasn’t there last night.

I shaved yesterday, which usually causes a few white heads to appear, but I’ve never had one on my lip border.

Would usually go to dermatologist, but they are booked for the next week.

I know you get hundreds of posts like these so I apologize. Thanks for any advice.

general enquiry 20M what are these ? NSFW

Thumbnail gallery

I’m 20M and I’ve had these small bumps on my penis since high school. It started with one, but over time more have appeared. They don’t itch, hurt, burn, or cause any discharge.
I think they’re Fordyce spots, but I’m not 100% sure. I’m honestly pretty insecure about how they look, especially when it comes to being intimate with someone.
Has anyone dealt with something similar? Did anything help reduce their appearance? I’m looking for advice or experiences from people who’ve had them.

general enquiry Looking for the Fastest Way to Get Rid of Severe Sun Tan and Restore My Original Skin Tone

Post image
0 Upvotes

I used to work a desk job, spending most of my time indoors in an air-conditioned office. I had a naturally fair skin tone, but about seven months ago, I decided to start a business in Karnataka that requires me to spend most of my time outdoors.
As a result, I’ve developed a severe tan on my face, neck, and arms, and my skin tone has changed significantly.
I want to get rid of this tan and return to my original skin tone as quickly as possible. I’m not looking for slow home remedies or treatments that take months to show results. I’m willing to spend whatever it takes, provided the treatment is safe and genuinely effective.
Please suggest the fastest and most effective options available, including dermatological treatments, medical-grade skincare products, or any other proven methods that can help me achieve visible results as soon as possible.
I’d really appreciate recommendations from people who have dealt with a similar level of tanning or have successfully treated it.

So I first noticed this rash I’ll call it about a week ago at first appeared on the shaft on my penis. I did not think much of it as I thought. Maybe it was just irritation today when I woke up I also noticed two additional red circles on my groin area. I have had unprotected sex recently, so I’m not sure if it could be an STI or STD or just ringworm or a fungal infection. I haven’t done anything to treat it yet as I’m not sure what it is.

I rinsed my sheets but the itchjng persists, I think the bumps become more noticeable because I scratched it more.

Symptoms of itching decreased when I dont sweat or in an low temperature AC environment.

No I havent had sex over 6 months plus.

This doesnt only occur in the genitals, but also my armpits, my arms or my thighs, all of them looks like the one on the pic.

Mostly more intense on skin folds or things that touch tightly on my skin (ex: the underwear)

I know it's impossible to tell from the picture, but this small red dot has been on the bridge of my nose for about a year. It doesn't hurt and has never bled or had any pus. Could this be cancerous? It has seemed to get more red in the past month or so which is what has me worried. It is slightly raised but does not hurt to touch.

general enquiry Dime sized red, swollen, spots

Hello derms!

I would like some insight on what I have potentially going on. Ive been experiencing the following;

Duration: at least three weeks
Locations: left brow (twice now, see picture), right arm (see picture), left collar bone, left shin
Timeline: spots typically last a week
Symptoms: area starts as a pencil tip size, raised mosquito bite like spot, they transition to red swollen, dime sized the next day. Spots are very itchy and tender to touch. Spots do not have a discharge, they do not grow in size (unless scratched)
Treatments: over the county allergy meds to decrease swelling and itchy feeling, non effective. I use tretinoin for acne and it seems to decrease the swelling to site.

I’m a healthy 30yo, IUD for meds, been on antibiotics on and off the last two-three months due to tonsil issues, no changes in lifestyle nor skin care routine, I live in the midwest.

Thank you!!

Any advice guys, I’m scared as shit
Was sexually active just over a month ago with a random. Straight after her. Tip of my dick started to dry and then this lumps came up. Have them on my balls too. I am definitely quite itchy overnight, where it gets worse. Sometimes my arm leg etc. went to doctors last week and got tested for herpes etc. ALL came negative including a swab. And suggestion to go scabies treatment. The cream. Done that and gotta do another one this week. Went to another doctor this week, he thinks it’s herpes and suggested to do another test, because sometimes in the early stages it may not get picked up. Helppp

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks what is this inside my ear?

Thumbnail

so I recently I noticed I kind of had insane pores inside my ears. I had just never seen that before. But then today I saw, at first what I thought was a big scab. and then I took a photo of it and I’m hoping it’s a blackhead, but even still it looks really gross. I’m obviously trying to fight the urge to pick at it. What should I do? Do I need to go to a dermatologist?

Maybe this is normal? I’m not applying my skin care routine to my ears. Should I be??

Hi, I'm 25F and I was at my friend's place in her new home for a 1 day stay it was scorching hot the next morning on the way back so I narrowed down everything that could be a possible trigger 1. I borrowed her sunscreen, 2. I applied a sheet mask when I reached home because my face was all red due to the sun so I thought it may help calm it down. 3. She has a dog (but u have 5 dogs so I don't think that could be something new. It is a delayed reaction because this appears the next day.

Today all dermatologists are closed due to a government Holiday so I am stuck with this. And cannot get treatment anywhere, therefore posting this here in hopes of help.

From the left 1st pic is the appearance of the blisters/pustules in 24 hrs, 2nd it is the after 32 hrs, the last image is after 48 hrs.

What should I do? It looks bigger and does not seem to reduce i tried using a cool cloth and icing the area, not using any soap and trying non fragrance moisturizer.

general enquiry Purple Boil/Cyst on Upper Thigh

My husband has had a pretty large purple boil/cyst thing on the inside of his upper thigh (near the groin area) over the past week. It’s causing pain the past couple of days whenever he walks. I wish I had a picture but I don’t unfortunately. It hasn’t come to a head yet, it’s just purple and I would say about an inch wide. He’s dealt with boils between his thighs for years now but hasn’t seen a dermatologist. My plan today is to get an appointment made for a dermatologist, but would an urgent care be able to handle the current boil? I’m honestly wondering if it could be MRSA and needs antibiotics. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Do I have a cold sore?

Thumbnail

Duration: 2 days
Location: Upper Lip
Timeline: Started off as just a dry rough patch, over the past day has been peeling.
Symptoms: Almost a numb kind of feeling when I rub over it. Super dry. Also having a sore throat.

Context:
I recently had a sexual experience with a man who whom I’ve been seeing for the past few months, and a woman he met in Puerto Rico.
I gave both parties oral, and this popped up on my lip not even 24 hours after.
I’m worried about what it could be. Sometimes I will get rough patches, or small little bumps on my lip when I wear my lipgloss for too long so I’m wondering if that’s what this is. But I’m also now dealing with a sore throat. I have no clue what’s going on.

26F, no major medical issues that I know of. The first one has been on my calf for maybe 5 years now, hasn’t grown but it’s pretty red and a perfect circle- it’s raised and hard. The second one is on my back and it’s been maybe 1 year. That one’s softer and more textured, it’s definitely grown a bit because I never remember seeing it when I looked at the tattoo in the past. Neither of them itch but I’ve made the one on my back bleed from accidentally scratching it

legs/feet Is this contact dermatitis or a chemical burn and is it healing?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Three weeks ago, I skinned my knee and was using antibacterial bandaids from CVS. The antibiotic on them was benzalkonium chloride (BAK) which I had no idea was a skin irritant until the skin underneath the pad was covered in blisters. The original cut got infected (diagnosed as cellulitis at urgent care) but I just finished a seven day course of clindamycin. Now the cut is healed minus the scar, but the area where the pad was is still purple with dead skin from the blisters. Is this part of the healing process or do I need to go back to the doctor?

arms/hands Is this spot something to worry about?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Duration: Honestly, I don’t know, I just noticed it today.

Location: It’s on my forearm

Timeline: Again, not sure since I’ve only just noticed it. I’ve been dealing with contact dermatitis and eczema for the past month so I’m not sure whether it’s related to that or not.

Symptoms: Apart from being dry and scaly, no symptoms. Not itchy or painful.

Treatments tried: I’ve moisturised it, hoping that’ll help over the next couple of days.

Relevant background: I work in a laboratory and have to wash my hands a lot which has caused contact dermatitis and an eczema flare up, but I’m really unsure whether this is linked or not.

I’m freaking out a little about this so any advice would be appreciated.

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks My perioral dermatitis will NOT resolve no matter what I try. What should I do?

For reference, I work in a hospital, 4 shifts on then 5 days off. I always notice my skin is at its worst when I’m at work, especially my perioral dermatitis. The 5 days off it and enough time fort skin to recover before going back in. I have tried all sorts of things to get rid of it. My dermatologist prescribed me Ketoderm and Metronidazole creams. Both just make my skin itchy and flaky. I’ve tried oral doxycycline, it works pretty well but KILLS my stomach and obviously when I stop taking it, the dermatitis comes back. I tried a combo my friend suggested: canesten cream, 1% hydrocortisone and then zinc oxide/ diaper rash cream. That actually seemed to work pretty well for like maybe a week, but now it’s flaring up again. I have an appointment with my dermatologist but it’s months away (thanks Canada healthcare), and the perioral dermatitis is super painful and irritating. For face wash, I use the Vanicream cleanser. I swear I have tried absolutely everything on the market but between my super oily skin, my acne, and my perioral dermatitis, I just can’t find a balance. Anyone have any suggestions on what I could do in the meantime while I wait for my dermatologist appointment (other than find a new job lol)?

I just started rincoq last week

arms/hands Skin Discoloration & Random Bruising

Thumbnail

Hello, i (21F) recently have sudden weird discolorations where it looks yellow-ish and has purple spots on my legs and arms. My skin tone is fair to light, so it is very noticeable in my eyes.

I’ve never experienced this before, it started almost two weeks ago so i would say 10 days ago. It doesn’t hurt when i touch them, but each day it’s spreading everywhere. It started as just a tiny bruise, then boom, this thing.

I have asked a general practitioner about this issue and he said either autoimmune disease or i just have very thin veins (?). Another doctor told me it could be due to severe anemia, which i actually have. Strangely enough i have never reached this point where my anemia manifests itself to bruises/discoloration. I don’t know if this is the right subreddit to ask, but better safe than sorry. Thanks

arms/hands Weird bubbly calluses?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey! I’ve had this super weird skin condition ONLY on my left thumb for maybe about 10 months now, maybe longer. They’re like little calluses, scabs and small blisters. Sometimes they hurt sometimes they just feel like little bubbles of dead skin. They’re only on the inner side of my left thumb, going down to the crease where the thumb bends. I don’t have any similar skin conditions anywhere on my body and I’m so so so confused and really want to figure this out and get it treated as soon as possible, as recently wearing gloves more (I’m a healthcare worker) has really been irritating it. Thanks!

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks This mole looks fine, right?

Thumbnail

My husband wants me to get this mole looked at. I’ve had it for many, many years but he said he thinks it’s gotten bumpy. (We’ve been together for 15 years and I’ve had it the whole time). While I agree it’s maybe slightly bigger, I think that’s just happened with time and is probably just bad memory on our end. We can’t really afford to pay for a DERM appt unless it really is necessary, and I just don’t think it is. Are there any doctors here who would suggest their patient get the mole evaluated based on these pictures?

Disclaimer: I completely understand that pictures don’t share the whole story, that no one online can tell me one way or the other, and that I have to be the one responsible for my own healthcare. I am just looking for general opinions from people who know more than I do. TIA.

23f, I’m so upset I can barely write this. I keep almost forgetting about it and laughing for a moment, then loooking in the mirror, and it just eats me up. I can’t barely do this I need it back I need my hair back. I really need some advice and maybe a reality check, no sugar coating just because I’m upset, on if it’ll ever actually come back as pretty and dense as ir was before. I’m soooo heart broken I haven’t been able to stop crying or sleep.

Title is the story. Was violently attacked over two days and was dragged/slammed my my hair over and over and just otherwise attacked pretty severely. The bald spots are kind of every where but this is the one most easily photographed and really makes the difference in my hair imo..

I had shaved my head with my grandmother before she passed of pancreatic cancer in 2021 and pretty much let it grow out till then without any dye until maybe the past year and I would only dye it black. Overall I was always told how thick and beautiful my hair was, even when I was feeling like maybe it wasn’t.

I have been on Semaglutide since April, and I have lost 85lbs since 1/1/26.
I had already noticed my hair thinning and was worried so I started taking Lustriva and kirkland multivitamin. I use The Ordinary hair serum daily. For my shampoo and conditioner I use the garnier whole blends honey treasures.

I’m going to start a fish oil pill or maybe pumpkin seed oil, hair oiling before washes with pumpkin seed oil and rosemary essential oil, dove bond repair hair mask, and I’m considering reaching out to a dermatologist and getting on minoxidil or something of the sort (I can’t take it topically because I have 4 cats). I know all these products aren’t great quality but I’m so broke atm.

But my questions are:
Will it come back the same way it did? Do I need to get a hair transplant if I ever want it back without taking meds daily? What can I/should I do now?! Please please please help me I’m so devastated

general enquiry Stubborn body bumps, nothing is working

Thumbnail

(Not itchy) They are all over my arms too. I shave once a week, but it still happens if I stop shaving. I’ve tried different urea creams, benzoyl peroxide only helps for any acne type bumps. The only thing that kinda helped was a glycolic acid body wash and scrub, but it didn’t actually get rid of them.
I don’t think it is KP as I’ve tried almost every product out there for KP and it doesn’t work, if anything they made it worse. I’ve also tried some salicylic acid/BHA products, some are too strong for me but some did help, barely enough to notice major difference though.

When I’ve popped them, they are usually always light/white thick puss or sometimes a hard plug like a blackhead.
And I do the basics, avoid tight clothing, clean bedding, moisturise, avoid hot showers and fragrances. I also switched to a sensitive washing powder.

Right now I’m just using a very plain baby body wash, and for moisturiser I use Cetaphil cream, I have very sensitive skin and that one never irritates me.

Summer is approaching here and I can’t even leave my house if my legs and arms aren’t covered. Any advice would be appreciated!
