Fan Art Isaac Clarke, 36 cm statue, fully painted
Actually that's my first ever big statue painted. It had to be Isaac.
Both painting work and photography are by yours truly.

Decided to create my own Necromorph character for a portfolio piece. Lemme know what your thoughts or any questions about him :))

Personally, I think the remake is the shit, except for this traversal stutter (which is shit). There's a mod on nexus that attempts to fix this, but their approach is flawed. They think it's about storage speed and assets being loaded too quickly. My current understanding (which is subject to change) is that the stutter is not caused by this, per se. Reducing the speed at which assets can be loaded (by installing the game onto slower media, for example) can alleviate the problem, but at the cost of slower loading and possible pop-in.
The mod I'm working on goes after the main cause, and doesn't require installing the game on different media. In the attached video, the first 3 passes are done with the fix disabled, and the next 3 with the fix enabled. Judge for yourself.
This mod dramatically reduces traversal stutter (in the video, the single worst frame was ~106 ms and it was reduced to ~13 ms with the fix enabled). It feels fucking awesome, like a different game altogether (assuming you had or noticed the stutter in the first place). There is still some residual hitching that I'm trying to get rid of, but this gets like 90% of the way there, maybe more. I'll release on nexus when I'm done working on it.
Edit: Anyone who wants to follow along is welcome to join my discord (I could use a hand with testing at some point), or keep an eye on my nexus mods profile:

The Titan Station is destroyed during the end of DS2, but i was wondering what happened to the Ishimura, is it destroyed alongside the station or is it left drifting among the debris of the Sprawl

I'd oddly go with these two officers from Downfall, for anything else you can say about it they really did not mess around with the gore in that movie

Hey y’all, besides my gf, I don’t really have anyone else to share this with that would give a damn. However, after 68 hours, four playthrougs, and a lot of anxiety and tension later, I finally got the plat!
This is easily in my top 5 games of all time, and my first ever horror game.
Nothing new, just want to celebrate with the dead space homies.

Recently I finished the remake a second time on NG+, and did my first run of the second game on steam (GOD damn even in normal mode that was a pain in the ass...great game though).
I gotta say it was a blast to replay the game that introduced me to its morbid sci-fi universe.
But as soon as I was scrolling through my feeds and searches about the original, I was surprised to see that opinions are divided regarding the ambiance, the level design, animation and characters. I was also surprised to see that the first game don't have an alternate ending. And this is the reason why I am asking you this : What do you think of these 2 versions ? Are there any elements you would have liked to see included in this remake ?

I've been playing the new Hellraiser game and it got me thinking about how the necromorphs, especially the more complicated/recombined ones, don't use the technology surrounding them.
The only time we see any form of this is with the twitchers with the military stasis modules or the wasters using a weapon but you'd think that the brother moons would see the benefit of at least patching some steel covers on.
I understand from a game play perspective this might get very... tedious/boring or even downright unfun.
Any head canons or actual canon to explain this?

To me it just so frustrating, for 2042 they did it after EA announced the DS2 remake isn’t happening and putting the remake devs to BF studios. Then for BF6 it like partly better but also half ass? Like why is the plasma cutter for a AR15 and not a pistol skin? Then the armors for Isaac and generic DS suit look slapped on to an existing character model.
At this point I would take a dead space reboot over another FOMO event that will last 2 weeks at best.

I did this back in 2023 and it worked fine, but now I only get four duplicates from one node before it stops. I’ve heard a few others mention the same thing.
I was told it was built into the game that way and couldn’t be patched. Anyone have an idea of why it doesn’t work now?
NEVERMIND IT STILL WORKS
This is the correct way for anyone wondering

It appears that engineering deck has already fixed with this mod:

Unfortunately it has been abandoned and the rest of the levels never got patched

I’m working on the Galactic Armory build for the Level 1 armor. Any one have any advice for what I should do for the undersuit? I looked at different coveralls but will take any additional feedback on what I should do.

I have to complain. 60 bucks for a game that I beat inside 20 hours, and I even nearly 100% it. Other than a few upgrades missing on a couple guns, I pretty much maxed out everything. What I don't understand is why they would make it so darn linear and that ending is horrid.
So the ending is Nicole is dead, you beat big bad hive mind, and make it off planet in the neck of time only to have a hallucination of Nicole jump scaring your character right before credits roll? Total BS.
When I googled, it appears that there is an alternate ending possible, but I don't think I want to try to play through new game plus to get to it, instead I opted to watch it on Youtube. It still stinks.
Eh, well, I likely will not be playing anymore from this franchise. This was just as disappointing as the originals.

I think it'd be cool for everyone to share a moment that you felt stupid for not being aware of a mechanic earlier while playing any Dead Space game.
I'll start:

My last video got removed and idk why. Seems to be some kind of mistake. Enjoy this one please!
This is an edit that I made with BloodyZealotSuit. I'll make a showcase later.

Doing an impossible plasma only run. Got to the pulse rifle and used the secondary fire to empty it to sell the ammo for some quick cash. Realized several chapters later. Even though I only used the gun on the floor am I screwed from achievement?
