Just released from the waiting period today.

Unbelievably beautiful and I can't wait to take my 45acp, "Classic" Commander through its paces at the range.

This is the only 'Commander' model available in California, there are two models this Commander and the PM7 full size 1911 which is also allowed in California.

The fitness is unbelievable and the overall feel of holding it is like holding something so comfortable that it seems like it's made especially for you.

Am I happy with my new toy?

Um...

I own a dan wesson TCP what plate will fit a holosun EPS carry?

I've asked this before and didnt get a solid answer. So, with some trial and error, I figured it out. Keep in mind, this provides a lower 1/3 co-witness on a commander length gun, and the 5" version might be different... FRONT SIGHT: Dawson Prescision Novak Cut .245" tall and .125" wide. REAR SIGHT: Ameriglo GL-404 .395" tall and .150" notch.

Unfortunately, got over spray from Action Blaster on the slide of my Specialist 1911. Dulled the finish from the shiny black to a gray color (as pictured). I've tried reoiling, greasing it, and warming it up with a hair dryer. No luck yet. Is there any way to restore the shine or do I need to send this back in for repair?

Question about dealing with Dan Wesson. I bought a Kodiak 10mm about a year and half ago. And the gun does not function properly.

I've tried a variety of ammo loads and different magazines and this does not fix the problem. I've also put 500+ rounds through the gun. I also have cleaned and lubricated properly before and after each use. I'm really disappointed because this was going to be my back up for bear defense while hunting/hiking.

The problem is every time I fire it, the gun does not go into battery all the way. It will be just a hair out of battery to fire again, and then the occasional stove pipe. Has anyone else had any problems with the Kodiak?

Also I've been fortunate enough to own a LOT of different firearms and have never had to contact a manufacturer for repair or warranty work. I don't even know how to go about that. Thanks!

Offered a trade for this Dan Wesson .44 with a 4 inch barrel. Was wondering about model name and manufacture info.

Got a great deal on this secondhand thing a few months ago and couldn’t pass it up. Shot it a bit and loved it. From there i decided to send it down to the boys at CGW. They did a phenomenal job with my Shadow2, so it was inevitable that i would send the DWX to get “Cajunized”.

I have two different colors of magwells [Armorycraft] depending on what mood i’m in 😂

Grips are the G10 “short” Lok and then a “short” Browneworks TS2 Cocobolo set and then a Shadow2 full length Cocobolo set. Mark did an amazing job with the grips and can’t recommend him enough if you’re looking for some custom grips.

The job CGW did on the DWX is nothing short of perfection. They got it back to me in short order and again, i wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them on any CZ/DW project. the trigger weights in at 2#6oz and is on par with the Infinity or Atlas. I also forgot to mention that i had CGW install a Red Dirt “short” trigger. I’d really like to find a traditional looking solid trigger in a silver or black but the ones from CZ/DW always seem to be out-of-stock.

Hoping to run this in some open matches next year along with my S2

Pawn shop has a TCP 9 for about 1,000 dollars. 3 mags included. Was curious if anyone has one and any info they’d like to share. It isn’t optics cut either so not sure how old. I didn’t go there to check it out yet. Oh and anything I should look out for while handing it. Thanks !

Scored a 2 1/2” barrel on the Bay late last week and it arrived yesterday. I need to keep an eye out for an 8” and I’d like to add a full under lugged 4” to the mix as well.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the centerfire and the rimfire firing pins on the small frame revolvers?

I have a Dan Wesson 357 maximum model 40 figure out what kind barrel nut wrench I need. If someone knows, can you please tell me

Hi all, maybe you've seen this around but I did not know about this sub , so Im posting this here.

This is my 2008 PM7-45 with S&A magwell and square cut VZ grips ( got these from the U.S. some years ago )

So I just picked this up. I love it except that it shoots high and to the right. That doesn't bother me so much that it shots high but I'd love to get it center.

I notice that the pin holding the front sight post isn't a screw; so I don't think I can change it.

Is it possible that the barrel isn't completed torqued (it did not come with a tool).

Is it possible my loads are too light? (I'm using my go to 38 special load that shoots great on my Smith and Wesson) 2.8 gr of Bullseye + SWCs.

Has anyone had problems with their TCP in 9mm? I had a catastrophic failure where the casing ruptured and exploded down the mag well forcefully disassembling the magazine. The ammo company (CCI aka blazer) denies it was the ammos fault saying it was fired out of battery. Dan Wesson has supposedly fixed the gun and is saying it’s good to go. I’m nervous to shoot it at this point. They kinda acted like it was going above and beyond to fix it for me without charging me for it. Oh and they also tried to charge me $100 in shipping costs to get my guns back without ever telling me shipping would cost anything. The guy who helped me seemed nice and that he did what he could to help me, but I’m not leaving this debacle feeling very confident considering the experts are blaming each other. Thoughts?

DWX compact and full-size. ❤️

I took my Specialist and new-to-me Model 44 to the range this afternoon. This was the first time I’d fired a revolver, let alone a 44 Magnum. I mainly just wanted to get a feel for the gun, though I did spend a little time adjusting the sights, which seemed to be a little high and left initially (second photo), though the groupings were good. (Third photo is after adjustment. All are at 10yds)

I wound up putting a box of 50 through it, then burned through thirty or so in the 1911, rapid fire (fourth photo)

Today was all about fun and familiarization with the newest acquisition, accuracy and more practice will come later.

The other day, I posted about a Model 44 that I had stumbled upon at a local pawn shop. I wasn’t actively looking to buy another gun, but I figured it would make a nice addition to my DW Specialist.

Well, today I went back and made it mine. Can’t wait to take it to the range this weekend and make it go bang (or should that be boom?)

Can anyone give me an approximate manufacture date based on the serial number? And any suggestions on the best way to treat the very minor rust on the right-hand side behind the cylinder (or should I leave it as-is)?

(Oh, and it’s actually a 6” barrel, not 8” as per my original post.)

I know these are discontinued but they seem impossible to find. 10mm C-bob

While browsing a local pawn shop this afternoon, I stumbled upon a nice Dan Wesson Model 44, with an 8" barrel. The finish is showing some honest wear, particularly at the business end of the barrel, but it appears to be in pretty good condition otherwise. It has an after-market wooden finger-contour grip. It's just the pistol - no accessories.

They're asking $770, told me that they would take $700, and I reckon I can probably get them down to $700 out the door after tax.

I'm in two minds - I'm not actively in the market for another gun, but I've often thought that a nice DW wheel gun would make a nice companion to my DW Specialist, and the price seems pretty reasonable.

Thoughts?
