Hello, I am new to cosplay and wanted to commission a new design of my favorite character of an indie comic.

I really didn’t know where to start, so I asked for a quote from someone on Etsy and they said $3700.

Is there any way I could ask someone to make this for $100-$400? I even told them it doesn’t have to be made out of metal like the character, a seamstress could completely start with the body of Shuri’s Black Panther costume and just make additions and alterations.

I 100% agree that designers/seamstresses should be paid what they are worth, which is why I would like some feedback before deciding I can’t do this at all?

They look larger than 17mm, but do not look like full scleras... does anyone know what size they are?

Adding on, where would you recommend to buy larger contacts?

I have 14.5mms from eyevos and I like them quite a lot, but idk if eyevos has larger than 17mm.

Do these feel significantly different than 14.5mms?

I'm still pretty new to cosplay and styling wigs, but I have 3 wigs to style before Halloween for my friends and I. After I crimp the wig can I use a curling iron on it without it damaging the texture or making it look weird?

(Please note: my question is not how to prevent it or untangle them; there's enough info about that online alr)

Soo I wanted to style a (~waist long) wig I've got of taobao (the store had really good ranking) and while tying to seperate the hair into sections after brushing through it w/ a brush (ehich worked just fine) I noticed neither my hand nor comb not being able to go through the hair bc it gotten super tangled and I'm just wondering how?? Or like it's fine for a few seconds and then.. it gets tangled again! I wasn't wearing it so it can't be bc of friction from my clothes in this case..

Also I feel like I'm not even able to detangle them bc once one section is fine the one right next to it gets tangled 😔😔

(Edit: Forgot to list budget. Like 100 dollars give or take, I can go over a bit. Especially if it's mostly for things I can later reuse like tools.)

Hello everybody. Me and my family planned a group halloween costume. I am going as Zurg. I thought I would be able to buy a helmet for zurg online. I was mistaken. I waited too long, and I need to create one soon.

My original plan was to take posterboard, wrap it around a bicycle helmet, and put in colored plastic for the face, however a friend of mine who is a furry suggested using foam instead? Essentially doing a simplified fursuit head, but Zurg. I have never worked with foam, nor the felt that I would need to put on it, so I wanted to get a broader set of suggestions.

I would love to get lighting in the mouth and eyes, but I am really not betting on it.
Does anybody have any good ideas for what I need?

Hello everyone! I hope this I the right place for me to ask for some help :)

So I've made a withered Freddy cosplay, but sadly I can't see much in the head, as my eyes are positioned right at the snout part of Freddy's head.

The first thing I've done some years back was making small holes in the snout but I have mike 10% visibility 😅

Next, I can technically see a bit in front of me through the mouth (30% visibility).

But recently I've found a new setup where I could use a phone, put it in the snout part, and plug an endoscopic camera so I could look through the peeking cam !

Tho sadly there were no room left for the cable of the cam to fit inside with the phone :(.

That's why I would like to know if you guys have any ideas I could use to be able to see ?

(I've tried looking for a smaller device to plug the camera, but I just don't know what devices or electronic components I could use to fit everything in the head :( ).

Fake fangs

How might I go about painting a fake fang gold in a way that's still safe to use in my mouth?I can’t order any because none will arrive in time. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I plan to make a Paul Dano Riddler for Halloween, Comicon, and general cosplay. This is my first time making a cosplay. I have tried to do research but there is one thing standing in my way...I don't know how to dye it. I asked a dyeing sub yesterday but got no response and I don't know the actual material of the jacket to know what will work and what dyes are good (I don't want to buy the fabric equivalent to dollar store box hair dye if you get me?) I've tried to look it up but got a ton of different answers. The jacket is a German Bundeswehr. If anyone has any tips on how to do it and what dye to use that'd be amazing. I am trying to to dye it a military green

I got this really big sword for a Halloween costume, and I want to give it realistic blood splatters and rust using acrylic paint, similar to Pyramid Head's great knife in Silent Hill 2 (See second image), any ideas? All I'd really need are what colors of paint I'd need, tips, the process and maybe a guide and/reference images of similar projects.

Has anyone had any experience on dying wigs with acrylic ink? I plan to cosplay an original character and they have long hair with unevenly dyed tips. The acrylic ink seems best for getting that extremely uneven colours as i can apply it how I want. But I can't find much information on how long acrylic ink lasts?

• Does it dye the wig permanently? Or just stain it a little.
• Will it wash out the second I wash the wig
• Does heat styling effect it at all?
• Would I still be able to steam the wig?
• Does the colour stain or wipe off on other things?

Hello! First time cosplayer looking for tips/critiques. I'm trying to style a wig to cosplay Frieren for halloween, but I have absolutely no experience in any kind of styling. My main concern is getting the bangs to stay in place, I used Got2B glued gel to style them, sprayed it with Wonder Lace Bond, and used some bobby pins to hold the ends to the wig's frame. When I took the wig off the mannequin head to trim the pigtails, the bangs got messed up in the process. I'd love to hear some tips on keeping it in place from more experienced cosplayers, plus some overall critiques on how I can improve it would be nice. I should note that I don't have a crimper or a steamer, nor can I afford to buy one until next week. I do have a normal hair dryer and some curling irons though! I'd like to get back into competing soon and I'd like to enter with this cosplay. My concern is that it wouldn't showcase enough enough technique. Lot of sewing but not a lot of crafting.

It's a hanfu that I'd make as traditional as possible. Work with very fluid fabric, hand embroidery, dyeing. For the wig I was thinking of making it semi helmet. Just don't know yet how to make the hair pins.

I feel like it's already a lot of technique to showcase but it's not a lot towards the crafting. Like I don't have any armor, props, etc to make.

I know it's better to make less but clean than a lot and messy. But I'm still a bit unsure and would like you guys opinion !

I'm looking for where I can buy a mask that looks like this one, just clear with the straps on the back. If needed I can add the straps though, but I'm not sure where to find it? Any ideas?

I want to be able to recreate this look or at the very least something of the same essence but I am not in the financial position to drop hundreds of dollars on a prosthetic that I will only be able to use once. I have everything else I need for my cosplay I'm just stuck on this. I have sensitive skin so if there's are alternatives that are easier on the skin that would be much appriciated but if there's not I'd still like to hear it anyways

I really want to do a Neytiri cosplay using body paint instead of a bodysuit.

Which paints would you suggest for best coverage, breathability and least likely to smudge or fade.

I've always heard great things about Mehron. And their Paradise Makeup AQ 30 Color Pro Palette seems like the easiest thing for me to apply knowing my experience ($123.95).

But it's pricey, and Mehron doesn't have smaller pallette options to choose from so I can just get the blue shades.

I already have a Glisten Cosmetics Water activated eyeliner palette with a plethora of colors. And this is what I have experience using.

Is buying this Mehron body paint online the right move + seal set spray?

Are there storefronts that may sell individual Mehron colors?

Or is there another brand that has smaller mix+match water activated palettes available before Halloween?

I want it to have healthy ingredients like Mehron.

I'm not into cream-based paints or ones that come in tubes, I'd rather it be a palette.

Does Glisten Cosmetics eyeliner palette work well over Mehron Paradise bodypaint?

So I clear coated this armor last night and didnt check the weather. Woke up to check on it before leaving and it was snowing, like slushy kinda consistency. I clear coated it when it was like 10°C and then temp dropped and only started snowing about an hour or 2 before I checked it. So it had about 7hrs before the snow got on it. I put it in a bin outside (completely enclosed) and a cardboard box (facing opposite to the wind but has 1 side open). Will the clear coated be fine?

I am currently working on my first ever cosplay(Mizi from alien stage), the dress fits me almost perfectly, just a little loose under my bust and tight where the sleeve connect, as well as the collar being too loose(that one I fixed though) ┐('～`;)┌

Would elastic be something I could use?

On the left is a royal blue jumpsuit I brought because my blind ass saw it as purple. On the right is what I'm trying to cosplay. Can anyone help me find a purple jumpsuit in the same style as the one shown (kind with elastic) or can anyone help me figure out how to dye it to the colour wanted? I have dye for synthetic (jumpsuit is polyester) but worried it'll be too dark since royal blue is quite dark as is

Doki Doki is the cheapest I can find which I think is odd since Ive heard that theyre overpriced... I tried aliexpress and couldnt get a listing with reliable reviews :( I also tried making a taobao account since Ive heard they have cosplays for cheap but I just cannot make an account for the life of me...
