Game Promotion Tank, DPS, healer — taking on bosses together in a 4-player roguelite I'm making

Hi everyone, I'm developing ASTERIS, an action roguelite for solo play or up to four players online.

In co-op, you take on bosses as a party: someone holds the front line, others look for openings to deal damage, and a healer keeps the group alive.

Your skill build starts fresh each run, but your gear, upgrades and permanent character progression carry over. If you're short a player, computer-controlled companions can fill empty slots in the Asterian Deep raid.

The full release is planned for October 29. The demo is still under Steam review and isn't playable yet. It will include most of the game's content, with the full release adding a few later stages.

If this looks like something you'd play with friends, a wishlist would help us a lot.

Game Promotion I'm making a game about putting a national park back together with your giant robot bestie

• Upvotes

You play as Starla, a park ranger, and Shorty, her giant robot best friend. A strange force has scattered their national park across the sky, and the two of them have to explore it, solve alien cube puzzles, and piece together what happened. Shorty seems connected to it all, too.

You can play solo, switching between Starla and Shorty, or team up with one other player in local couch co-op.

I'd love to know what you think after watching.

Hi everyone,

I just released MAYDAY, an online co-op game: one player can see the bomb but not the defusal manual, the others have the manual but can't see the bomb. Voice chat is built into the game, bombs are randomly generated, no two bombs are ever the same.
The game is available in English, French and Spanish.

Play for free:
iPhone app: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6811154420
Browser (nothing to install): https://maydaygame.fr

It's best with 2-4 players (solo mode available for practice). All feedback is welcome : bugs, modules too hard or too easy, I'll answer everything here.

Good luck, and may the best defuser win. 🧨

Discussion For a 4-player co-op game with ~20-minute waves, when would you expect progress to be saved?

• Upvotes

We’re developing a 4-player online co-op game and trying to decide whether it needs a save-and-resume system, and where saving should happen.

Each wave is expected to last around 20 minutes. Kills are shared across the team, and at milestones like 10, 20, 40, 80, and 160 kills, every player gets to choose a skill upgrade. We want players to grow together without competing for last hits.

With that structure, what would you expect as a player?

• Would saving between waves be enough, or would you also want to stop partway through a wave and resume later?

• If a friend disconnects, should they be able to rejoin with their exact upgrades and progress restored?

• Should a saved run belong to the host, requiring that person to be there to continue?

• Would you be comfortable losing progress from the current wave, as long as you could restart from the beginning of that wave?

We’re treating recovery from a disconnect and deliberately ending a session to continue another day as separate questions.

Does a 20-minute wave feel like a reasonable stretch to finish before saving, or would that make it difficult to play with your friends? Are there co-op games whose save systems you’d like us to learn from?

Game Promotion I made a co-op platformer inspired by Pico Park, with a level editor. The free demo is out and I’d love honest feedback.

Animals League Unite is a co-op platformer for 1 to 8 players, on one screen or online. It’s inspired by Pico Park: most levels need the whole team working together, and if one player dies, everyone restarts.

It has a lot of mechanics: stacking on each other, slapping each other across gaps, planes, mine carts, flying saucers and more.

It also has a level editor. You can make your own levels, share them on the Workshop, and play levels other people made. If I get this right, it should keep the game fresh long after you finish the main levels.

The demo has the first world (10 levels) and the level editor, and it’s free. I’d really appreciate help testing it. Honest feedback is welcome, good or bad, especially on online play and the editor.

Other How my friends decided to make a co-op game inspired by the idea of total destructibility

Hi everyone!

Glad to be here. I want to tell you how a couple of my friends decided to make a co-op game with great graphics, and how it all started at a hangout.

A few months ago we hang out together online. We hadn't seen each other in a while, and everyone had news: someone changed job, someone was traveling and sick from the work. The conversation wandered from topic to topic and landed on games and genres. One friend was arguing with another about how hard it would be to make a co-op game with full destructibility. They agreed it would be pretty tough: there's a lot of physics, everything has to be replicated, and that means a heavy load. But in the end they took on the challenge.

At first the idea was pretty simple. The main character, a girl, gets left behind in another world and smashes everything in her way to get back home. You collect crystals, open portals and level up your magic and skills. Over time the guys got so deep into the project that they added an arena and co-op. There players can fight each other and climb a leaderboard to see who's the best. Then they went even further and added enemies. From what I know, the enemies turned out pretty smart: they lay siege to you, dodge, can drop a house on you or switch tactics. And you can bring that same house down on them and wipe out part of the group in one go.

I have to say, that's when the game really clicked and got addictive. Even I actually want to play it.
The game is built on Unreal Engine 5. The guys put in the work and optimized so much of it in C++ that nothing lags, so you can fight enemies and rivals in co-op without any slowdowns.

I'm attaching a video of the game to show what they've already made.

I'd also like to ask you to support my friends. They work 15 hours a day and even quit their jobs to focus on this game full time. They really believe in it and want it to turn out great. So if you don't want them to be even more drunk and end up homeless, please add the game to your Steam wishlist. Plus one to your karma. Have a great day, everyone!

Game Promotion FlipBAKA! — Explore together or split up in 1–4 player local and online co-op

Hi everyone! I’m a Japanese solo developer living in the US, working on FlipBAKA!, a game about flipping panels to launch enemies off the board—and sometimes your friends.

It supports 1–4 player local and online co-op. This video shows the dungeon mode, where you can:

  • Explore together or split up.
  • Buy items individually at shops.
  • Find a map to reveal the dungeon.
  • Choose upgrades, rest, and take on bosses.

Friendly fire is part of the fun. There’s also a CPU companion called PAL—but drop PAL off the board three times and it gets angry and comes after you!

FlipBAKA! releases on October 29, 2026, and a free demo is available on Steam.

Do you usually stick together in co-op dungeon games, or split up to explore?

Discussion Short video to explain how our co-op chess puzzles actually work

A few days ago I posted here about the co-op mode in Stealthmate, the puzzle game I'm making with my brother and sister.

That post got a decent number of views, but I realized the short gameplay clip didn't really explain what the other player is actually doing or why we made it co-op.

So we made this very short video to explain the idea a bit better.

Each player controls a different chess piece, so both players have different movement options. The puzzles are designed around those differences, meaning one player can often reach, block, activate or interact with things that the other player can't.

The goal is for the co-op to be about figuring out how both pieces can help each other rather than just having two people moving around the same level.

My wife and I play a lot of co-op games, and Death Squared was one of the references that made me think this kind of puzzle structure could work really well with two players.

This was my previous post if anyone is curious:

Looking for Suggestions Looking for a co op game for our 6 player group

Hi everyone!

We are a group of 6 players and looking for our next game.

We finished Big Walk not too long ago and everyone loved it, which set the standard to high.

We also tried Valheim but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

Some have already finished Peak as well, and loved it.

Because we’re pretty diverse we have some criteria, hoping it will fit everyone.

* Full Cross platform is crucial.

* Most care for progression feeling. If it has a full start - mid - finish than it’s a big plus.

* No horror games.

* One of us really dislikes puzzle games (he enjoyed big walk though)

* No grind - this is why some didn’t like Valheim.

* 1 doesn’t really like rougelikes.

Yes, I know, it’s a tight list and that’s why it’s hard for us to find something.

Please help up with your wisdom!

We are currently looking into void crew and pratfall. The one disliking roguelikes said it isn’t his cup of tea but is ok giving it a try.

Looking for Suggestions I Feel like I’ve run out of Coop Campaign games for me and my friend

I’ve been playing coop games with one of my friends for a while now and its started to feel like we’re scraping the bottom of the barrel with few exceptions the last handful we’ve played all fell flat. I’ll provide a list of what we’ve played so far at the end of this post but I’m wondering if there’s so games we’ve missed I have a few left I’m excited to play (split fiction and Orbitals) but past that I have no idea what we’ll play. And that’s why I’m asking I want to know if anyone has any ideas It doesn’t matter the age or platform the game is on and I don’t mind modding it if I have to aswell. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

And here is a list of what we’ve played if you want a feel for our taste and stuff

Baldurs gate 3
Cuphead
Divinity Original Sin 1/2
Elden Ring
Guild Wars 1/2
It takes two
Monster Hunter World/Rise
Rabi-Ribi
The Majority of the Tales of Series
Mario 64
Honestly writing it out it’s less then I thought but at the very least for CoopRPGs it feels like we’re all out

Edit: thanks for all of the suggestions I’ll try to read through them all but it might take a bit.

Game Promotion BUG OUT: free browser co-op where 1-4 exterminators fight a unionized bug uprising (griefing encouraged)

We're MOP SQUAD, an indie studio making games about stupid jobs with friends. BUG OUT is job #1: pest control. You and up to 3 friends are rookie exterminators clearing a haunted house. The bugs unionized. Shove your friends into the swarm, scream to attract every bug in the room (usually onto yourself), get downed and a new hire shows up in 20 seconds. Clear your bug quota of 12 in the Kitchen and head for the door. The demo is free in your browser: no download, no account. Keyboard covers players 1-2; players 3-4 need gamepads. Play it here: https://mopsquad.itch.io/bug-out. I'm the dev, happy to answer questions.

Looking for Co-op Partners [27M | Central Time | Looking for gaming friends, especially co-op horror!]

Hey everyone! I’m 27M and looking to make more gaming friends. I play a lot of different games, but I’d especially love to find people to play co-op horror with. Getting scared together and laughing at each other sounds like a good time 😂
I’m usually available after 6 PM Central Time during the week and on weekends. Looking for chill people to talk, joke around, and play with regularly. No pressure to be amazing at anything—just have fun.
Drop a comment or send me a message with what you play! I’m open to trying new games too.

Looking for Suggestions Looking for a VR co-op game with a proper healer/support role

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for a VR co-op game where I can play as a dedicated healer or support, preferably in PvE dungeons or missions.

I love keeping my teammates alive through active healing, buffs and crowd control. I'm not looking for a "medic" who just carries a defibrillator or occasionally drops a medkit. I want healing to be a meaningful part of my role.

I have a Quest 3 and can also play PCVR.

Games I already own:

  • Dungeons of Eternity (currently grinding for the Healing Staff)
  • Ancient Dungeon
  • Pixel Dungeon VR
  • Demeo

Games I've already considered or ruled out:

  • Demeo x D&D: Battlemarked (bard-style support and the available characters aren't really my thing)
  • OrbusVR (official servers shut down)
  • Ilysia (concerns about player activity)
  • Evasion (too old, questionable player population)
  • Legendary Tales (already considered)
  • The Cinder Pact (no confirmed dedicated healer)
  • Guardians Frontline / Roboquest VR (not really what I'm looking for)

I'm open to fantasy, sci-fi and shooters. Ideally, I'd like real-time PvE with an active playerbase and the option to join random groups.

Does anything like this exist in VR, or am I looking for a unicorn?
