Picture Uptown Theater Photos
It is an amazing sight to see in person. I think that it’s the only way to appreciate the absolutely monumental amount of work it will take to restore it.

Last night's sunset was a dream. After a lot of clouds, and a brief, gusty downpour, the rain cleared and this scene of crashing waves underneath a pink sky revealed itself for a few fleeting moments.

Some people said they have been waiting since 9:30 and it's 11:40 now.

This is a little project I've been working on in my spare time. The idea is to have an interactive map to navigate a space, but to put the pictures first, instead of a series of pins that you have to click into to navigate. I did a first version of this for the city wide event Blink in Cincinnati last weekend, the Cincinnati subreddit seemed to enjoy it, so I thought let's keep kicking the tires with this, see how it goes.
You can plan out routes based on what you want to see, choose all kind of attributes of how those routes should look like, there's a lot of knobs to turn with this thing.
I don't do this for a living, I'm not associated with Chicago Architecture Center, I'm not looking to make any money off this, it's just for the fun of doing it, it's a side project. If anything doesn't work, you think it could use improving, let me know in the comments. Thanks and enjoy!

Went to the Fulton Market Oktoberfest Nation this evening. Note that this is a ticketed event, with timed entry. It was raining; there are no tents, so we drank wet beer in the rain (getting lighter by the raindrop). Went to get a brat that I had paid for in advance, but they said they were out of brats and only had thuringers (which he mis-pronounced). I prefer thuringer, so I was happy; however, dear reader, it was not a thuringer, it was just a hot dog (with mediocre sauerkraut). At least I got the hot dog, because right after they shut the food shack down; my buddy who showed after work was out of luck for his pre-paid brat. The soundtrack to all this was a random walk through Top 40 hits of the last 50 years; the songs were individually fine, but an incoherent whole unrelated to Germany or Octoberfest. I still have a soggy ass and wet socks. 2/10; do not recommend.

Would go for a walk to see if it weren’t so rainy, what in the world is the bright light shining on a neighboring building in West Loop?
