Discussion Does anyone know if this is reliable for phones?
For refurbished phones, Do they do full testing and resetting of the phone?

I'd like to preface this by saying I have used CEX for a decade and had 0 issues before this, but that this incident has been the worst customer experience of my life.
On September 4th I ordered a game from CEX valued at £50+. All my orders previously had used royal mail for delivery and gets posted through my letterbox. This one was through DPD.
On the 6th I got the notification saying that my parcel was delivered, I had just flown to Prague the day before so wasn't at home but thought nothing of it. Later that evening after getting back at the hotel I checked my DPD delivery and the photo provided was the just the parcel left outside by my door.
I returned home on the 8th to naturally find my parcel missing and then raised this with CEX, which included me sending the photo provided by DPD.
I have now spent the last 7 WEEKS trying to get a refund on my order.
After 2 weeks DPD provided CEX with a piece of paper with a supposed signature of mine which they accepted as proof.
I then spent weeks contacting DPD myself to find out why/who had forged my signature and using it to prove delivery, while also providing CEX with proof that I wasn't in the country at the supposed time of signature.
After 4 weeks I felt I had no choice but to send CEX a letter before action as they were still denying me a refund.
After going through DPDs legal department I got them to confirm that the signature was forged and they reassured me that they had contacted CEX with this information.
This leads to this week where CEX have now closed the case and are saying DPDs investigation confirm delivery and there's nothing they can do. I explained that I will be going throught the small claims court after already sending my letter before action and look forward to hearing their proof of how I signed the parcel from Prague.
Today, 2 days later CEX have now returned saying they will refund me now after contacting the relevant team but only when I cancel the claim against them. To start a claim however it costs £35 with the tribunal service so I am moving forward with the claim regardless after giving them ample opportunity to refund me the original order.
The fact that this took 7 weeks, over 50 emails with a CEX customer service rep, including multiple days to get a reply, physical letters sent by mail to CEX head office and the ignoring of evidence provided by me is appalling and felt like they want people to just give up in getting a refund and try and drag it out as much as possible.
Mainly writing all this cos I'm just pissed with how this went down and want to vent, but also as a warning to others that if this happens to you, keep fighting for it and go through all options available to you.
EDIT - To be clear, this was a new release single game that I ordered as soon as it came in stock and I expected to be posted through the letterbox like the 30 orders before it, which is why I ordered it before going away. I understood that it being left outside was DPDs doing and not CEX. But 7 weeks later, avoiding the issue isn't acceptable.

I just brought a of from cex and it’s asking me for a pin to login, is this something they should have given me or did they forget to wipe it?

Im considering buying a few games from the website and just wanted to know a couple of things from other customers.
Are all games second hand or is there a variety of new and second hand games? And is there a way to tell its condition
Also is the delivery good? Its quite nice that they offer free shipping for orders 50 bucks and over, but how long and how well packaged will the items be?
Appreciate any response ✌️

I want to trade in a monitor but do not have the original stand, can I still trade it in or should I take a monitor arm along (that’s what I used).

I sold an item, it came to grade A, they said “is £30 okay?” I says yes because that’s how much I thought it was. Signed the receipt and went on my day.
Got curious and decided to check online and it turns out the exact item for grade A for cash is actually £39. Same colour and everything
Can I get the extra £9 or have I already signed my life away and can’t get that money?
Thanks,

I’ve been working at CeX for about a year now and found that there is much more to upkeep with than other jobs, much more tasks to get done and a high demand. Am i the only one noticing this??
I also had an investigation a few months ago, which I was not made aware that as I was under 18 I was permitted to have a parent or guardian present, or a union rep or other colleague. I also found that it states on the investigation pdf that I would hear back about the process and outcome of the investigation as soon as possible, but yet I have heard nothing back from my supervisor or HR. Is this a common issue?

Ordered a rather expensive item from cex 3 days ago delivery information was sent stright away yet no update on the package being sent out. Cex customer service isn't responding either. At what point should I start to worry?

I bought a ps5 from cex in July and I decided to send it back to them last week. They emailed me to say it’s missing a stand but I never received a stand with it when I was sent it in July, I didn’t even know it was meant to have one hence why I didn’t question it previously. I emailed them back to explain this and they said they’ve contacted their returns team but since then I haven’t heard back from them. Apparently there’s 3 days left until it’s recycled or they keep it? I’ve put a support ticket in online and hoping to get a response from that. Does anyone here have suggestions on what I should do? I just want it sent back to me at this point because they’re probably going to expect me to fund the cost of a stand that it never came with when they sent it to me otherwise.

Hey guys should I get the discounted or unboxed ps5. Does anyone have any experience buying a used ps5 from cex?
Could I also inspect the ps5 in store before purchasing it?

I’ve just been into my local CEX to sell the below and they’ve told me it’s £78 voucher and £54 cash and I’ve raised to the store that the price can’t be right as online it says £112 voucher and £84 cash
Kingston (SKC600MS/256G) KC600 512GB SATA 2.5"
x2
Kingston A400 SA400S37/960G 960GB 2.5" SATA SSD
x1
Does anyone know why they would have knocked £30 off? The store said they double checked and said they was right at £54
Looking for a little bit of advice
On the 8th of october, i applied for a sales assistant role- one that had been reposted but for the same store.
Then on the 11th i missed a phone call from the recruitment team that said they will call me back- it was listed as 'unknown'.
I then sent an email on the 14th to [uk.careers@webuy.com](mailto:uk.careers@webuy.com) after no call back and got the stupid automated email saying 'we got your application' but nothing further
And its now the 20th with no response from email or phone. I'm thinking I should go to the store but I dont want to go through all of that effort to just get rejected.
Any advice would be helpful, thank you.

Hi all; I’m thinking of trading in some things to CEX and thought I’d seek some advice.
I’m wanting to trade in a pair of Warriors of Rock guitar controllers for PS3 - both in full working order, with dongles included. A problem I ran into with each controller is a loose whammy bar - to fix them I’ve moulded some sugru (like a mouldable rubber that cures quickly) around the base of each whammy bar to hold them in place. It’s proven very effective, but it’s not exactly a conventional modification.
Another concern I have is one of the guitars has a piece missing from it. Warriors of Rock guitars keep the dongle in an internal component that you access by triggering a spring loaded catch. The catch on one of my guitars jammed when I originally bought it from CEX, so they jimmied it open and sold it to me at a slight discount as compensation. It doesn’t affect the operation of the guitar at all, but it is something to be aware of, I think.
The question I have is: will either of these factors impact my ability to sell the guitars to CEX? I can scrape off the sugru if so needed, but doing so renders the whammy bar useless. Any insights?

Hello Everyone,
I am eyeing on a phone that would cost me close to 520 Euros in cex and the years of warranty seems worth it.
If anyone would be willing it to sell their voucher @0.8 of the value please let me know.

Highly recommend this store. Staff are great, and while I was there they were very patient with a rando who was insisting on selling their 17 year old Dell Optiplex and a broken mouse. They were eventually persuaded to leave the store.

I live in Greece and buy order retro games to my aunt's house to pick them up or for them to bring over. This year is a big one since I'm thinking of finally getting THE N64 game I've been wanting to play for sooo long. Conkers bad fur day. I of course want it in good condition and will return if it isn't. This year my grandad is coming to Greece so these are my questions for you:
What are the chances the box isn't in good condition? Small tears are ok as long as they aren't on the front cover or on the long spine since that's how I display my games. What do you think is the % chance of worse than what I described?
Will the game be safe in airplane luggage or will it have to go in a box? How sturdy are these boxed? Will it get ruined if kept in hand luggage? What's the best way to deal with this?
Thanks for the help!
Finally got my first shift coming up on Tuesday, kinda nervous honestly so hoping if anyone has any advice on what to expect?

Hi guys. Got a question, hopefully for a current or former employee.
I took a DVD (Gorillaz Phase 2) in to sell, along with a couple of blu-rays.
Assistant told me "we're not accepting that one anymore unfortunately, Phase 1 yes, but not 2".
When i got home I checked the app & found they were still selling it, and still offering to buy it. I can sell it to them through Drop And Go, which I've never used before but I'm planning to do.
Thing is, I'll be dropping it at the same store that knocked it back initially.
Does anyone have experience of something similar?
Can the store refuse to take it, even if it's already been 'agreed' in the app?
I'd really appreciate some input on this, particularly from those with experience, rather than pure conjecture.
Thank you 🙏
