Questions around specific hikes and itinerary in Santo Antoa
Hey travelers & hikers !
I will be in Cape Verde for a month and am currently planning the Santo Antao portion of my trip.
Could you please let me know if these hikes offer a sufficiently varied look at what the north east of Santo Antao has to offer ? Any interesting hikes (maybe some more off the beaten track) I may have missed here ? Considering switching my 3rd night to be in Xoxo rather than Coculi. Which town is nicer to stay in ? At what time must you generally leave to catch public transport back on time to your accommodation ? Also, read it's better to do the Ponta do sol hike the other way around and to start in Cha de Igrega instead, would you agree to that ? Lastly, I saw there are many different versions of the Pico da Cruz hike, which one is the most impressive considering we are 2 well experienced hikers?
| Santo Antao - Coculi | Casa familiar por do sol | Cova to coculi or boca de ambas to cha de igrega ? |
|---|---|---|
| Santo Antao - Coculi | Casa familiar por do sol | Chã de Igreja to Ponta do Sol |
| Santo Antao - Coculi | Casa familiar por do sol | Easy hike or rest day |
| Santo Antao - Xoxo | Xoxo guesthouse | Waterfall Hike |
| Santo Antao - Xoxo | Xoxo guesthouse | Morrador – Vinha – Fajã de Cima – Chã de Mato – Corda |
| Santo Antao - Paul Valley | Wahnon Guesthouse | Easy hike or rest day |
| Santo Antao - Paul Valley | Wahnon Guesthouse | Cova to Cidade das Pombas/Paul |
| Santo Antao - Paul Valley | Wahnon Guesthouse | Pico da Cruz to Janela hike or Cova to Pico de cruz to Paul ? |
Any advice welcome :). many thanks and happy treks to everyone !
