Broadway cares dates?
Anyone know when the shows will be doing fundraising for Broadway cares? I would love to snag a signed poster and I have tickets that might be in the window. Thanks!

The acting of the two leads was good. If this was someone's first introduction to the absolute fucking hero that was Larry Kramer, I guess that's a good thing.
But wow this show made me so fucking angry I can't even tell you.
Artists like Moises Kaufman use verbatim as a tool in their art, and then shape the text they have found into a work that is more than the sum of its parts, that has something to say beyond "this is important and relevant". Fish, meanwhile, is a lazy fucking hack, taking an hour of already-interesting television and just smearing it with the aesthetics of artful consideration to hide his own deep and abiding indifference to anything that isn't the smell of his own farts. DO SOMETHING WITH IT, DANIEL. YOUR ONE FUCKING VISUAL METAPHOR IS TWO-DIMENSIONAL AND USELESS. WHAT IS YOUR FUCKING POINT BEYOND...
Larry Kramer and Anthony Fauci both wanted AIDS to stop but they had two different approaches, isn't that interesting guys? I guess, in the end, we need angry yelly people and calm businessy people to get things done. Who knew? 🙂
(Also AIDS was bad in exactly the way everyone with the tiniest bit of knowledge on the subject already knows it was bad. You're welcome.)

Oh shit we'd better put a black guy and a lady in this (in the least creative way and most sidelining way possible) cuz, you know, they were around at the time. Also did you guys know they made inflatable chicken suits? So fun. Let's put the lady in one.
Say, I wonder if any of those women or people of color were involved in spreading awareness of the AIDS crisis? Eh, whatever, I don't want to actually do any research on or adapting of the text I chose, to add to it in any meaningful way. That sounds like work, and I don't need to do work cuz I just have such great ideas that need no fleshing out! God, I'm great. Slurp slurp slurp.
I'm glad Larry Kramer died before he had to sit through this co-opting of his rhetorical genius into another exercise in Daniel Fish's auto-fellatio, now with bubbles.

Has anyone done Slam Frank Rush? I know it's 2 hours before curtain but just how many people do it/when to get there/how many tickets they give out/etc.

Hey all! A friend of mine asked me to pick a musical for us to see together. I see a ton of theater but I'm not really a musical person and don't have a great sense of what a newbie would enjoy. I'd like to stick to bigger, sparklier musicals so she remains enchanted lol.
- She's only ever seen Hell's Kitchen, which she loved.
- Of the musicals currently playing that I've seen, I don't think Mincemeat (which is my favorite) or Little Shop would land for her.
- I've seen Lion King and Six, am about to see Hadestown, and have no interest in Wicked or any jukebox musical.
I know I am being difficult. Please help me anyway!

Can someone explain to me how it isn’t back luck to perform Macbeth in a theater if it’s bad luck to say Macbeth in a theater?

What the heck do we wear? We've seen several shows during the day recently and "clean casual" was more or less the rule. I know NYC in March can still be chilly (and it's a late show), but I certainly don't want to be over/under dressed.
Any more experienced folks have thoughts?

I thought I initially heard that the City Center production of In the Heights was going to be a concert presentation, but I just saw a rehearsal clip on Playbill that had pretty extensive choreography. Is the show actually fully-staged or is it a concert where they have choreo for some numbers?

A friend and I are going to NYC in early May with the purpose of seeing as many shows as possible. Since neither of us lives there there will be many options for us that we haven’t seen before.
We got warriors tickets this morning. I’m also planning to purchase Evita and Masquerade tickets in advance.
Some of the other shows we are interested in are:
- Paddington
- Galileo (probably depending on the reviews)
- Wanted
- spring awakening if it extends
- Benjamin Button if it extends
- Schimagadoon if it extends
We are trying to get good prices on shows if possible and would like to use TKTS but I’m worried some of the newer shows won’t be on there.!

(I have no idea if I’m doing this right, i’ve never shared directly from Instagram to Reddit)
I know he said the opera and the Met, but I’m trying to picture the person next to me, like let’s say at Waiting for Lefty tonight, pulling out a little baggie of cold pancakes and just quietly munching on them and my brain is throwing up a full BSOD, “An error has occurred!” 😂
ETA: I'm not opposed? I just think it's a little unusual and kind of funny. Also I'm trying to imagine how the scent will spread and confuse the people a few rows away who can't see them, lol.

I just won a ticket for tomorrow Paranormal activity but in case I can’t get out of work on time, does the theater allow someone else to pick up in my name? Do they check ID’s at this theater for ticket pick up through lottery? Thank you

Does Derek Klena go for Season 2 or was it a YOLO Year, like originally planned?

Will be back in the City for work from November 18 to the 21st. Frustrated that Spring Awakening doesn't start previews until the week after, and that In the Heights ends the Sunday before I get there. Feels like a weird limbo period to find a decent show that isnt your mainstay stuff (seen pretty much everything I want to on Bway on past trips).
I impulsively (stupidly) bought a ticket to Its a Wonderful Life for one of these nights and already regretting that too, but it was the only thing that seemed semi-reasonable, available, and novel enough (at least cast-wise) to plan to attend during my short trip.
Anything I'm missing? Considered A Few Good Men but not sure that's in the cards - more of a musical person but open to good theatre all around but seldom venture into play territory (read: more buyers remorse for Its a Wonderful Life). Maybe I sell my ticket and no-show this trip? That would be a bummer but....kind of over trying to force something.

Does Park Avenue Armory have an under 30 deal? I could have sworn they did but I’m not getting anything with google search. I’ve also gotten Park Ave Armory tix on TDF but thinking Grass might be too popular for TDF?

Just wondering what to expect in terms of the event itself. I got my tickets from a friend, so I don't have a lot of info.

So I travel to NYC in order to see BWAY shows maybe 4-6X a year. For example in Jan I'm seeing -- A Few Good Men / Other Desert Cities / A view from the Bridge / 7 guitars / The Conversation / Preexisitng Condition
I've got a LCT membership and a La Mama membership in order that I could get AFGM for cheaper and View from Bridge cheaper. (also the sound of music for a later spring NYC trip -- I saw Jasmine Rogers in African schools girls play and was BLOWN AWAY BY HER ACTING!!!
I bought the other shows at regular price on their websites. (usually taking me to Telecharge)
I believe I qualify for a TDF membership.
Assuming I do, would a TDF have likely saved me money on Desert Cities, The Conversation, or Preexisting Condition?
I also love to see shows again like JIT, Schmigadoon!, The Outsiders...would a TDF membership help with those?
***Since I don't live there and I have a bit of money i'm willing to spend on BWAY I greatly prefer good seats. (Center orchestra or first couple rows mezz)
TYIA!!!!!

Is anyone else not seeing the Warriors presale open on their official website? I've been refreshing the page like crazy, but all I see is the e-mail sign up. Am I in the right place?
EDIT: I managed to get in line via Broadway Direct, not the official website. However, the code "boppers" isn't working 💔
EDIT 2: Thank you to all the amazing people here who helped me out! I was able to get my ticket for the first performance. Best of luck to everyone and may you get the seat you wish for!

All love to the amazing ladies cast in The Warriors, but now that it’s not just a listening experience and we’re going to be putting faces to the voices, why is the cast skewed so old? Aren’t these supposed to be kids/young adults? Amber Gray is 45. Kenita R Miller is 45. There’s nothing wrong with being old and that’s not at all what I’m saying, but these characters are supposed to be young and scrappy! (No reference intended). This would be a great chance to introduce a handful of young black/bipoc actresses, which is totally a risk Lin could have taken, since his name carries so much weight. I mean come on, this is his first stage venture since HAMILTON. Just cast new faces. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
Again, don’t want anyone to think I’m saying these ladies are too old to be performers, just that they’re probably too old to play these characters.
And yes, I’m aware some of the actresses are younger, like Jaci Calderon, who I’m sure is great and is someone I would call an age-appropriate casting choice.

Have I just not been paying attention? When did Adam Chanler-Berat and Conrad Ricomora leave Waiting for Lefty? I know Thom Sesma is in A Few Good Men, although I hadn't made the connection that he left this.
Standard caveat of no one's owed a performance, conflicts arise, etc., but I'm literally going tonight and would not have known about any of these changes if I hadn't been looking for the description of the play to explain it to someone. I was so looking forward to seeing Adam, too.
