Domestic XXR on BOT on Avengers: Doomsday: "I've seen enough. I'm officially on the $400M OW train. Just presales data. Where weâre at relative to BND across the whole market. Capacity could become an issue if weâre trying to get over 450, but I think 400 is likely now."

Domestic TheFlatLannister on BOT: Doomsday just doesn't make sense, because presales at this massive scale should have seen a major decrease in daily pace by now. But at MTC3, it is selling ~10k tix per a week for previews.

I checked yesterday: MTC3 Doomsday T-63 is matching BND T-10 preview. Doomsday Friday is now ahead of BND T-12. Saturday is nearing BND T-10. Sunday around T-9 of BND. Entire weekend at T-63 for Doomsday is around BND T-10 entire weekend for MTC3.
It's pretty much a self-sustaining tsunami at this point.
yeah, so Doomsday is already over 2.5x of BND first EOD preview presales at T-63. 3x BND first EOD seems like a done deal to me. Speaks to how strong pace has been for Doomsday.

Brazil Doomsday will have midnight screenings in Brazil - A rare thing since the pandemic
The pre-sales for Doomsday have been on for a while in Brazil and I noticed that there will be a lot of midnight screenings and that those are almost all sold out, at least where I live. Funny thing is that the last movie I remember having midnight screenings was Endgame and, since the pandemic, I don't recall any other movie having it.
Maybe No Way Home had it and I don't recall but it's great to see the hype for the movie

đ Industry Analysis How Tom The Lizard Became Pixarâs Viral âHoppersâ Spokesanimal - Disney Didnât Want Tom The Lizard Promoting âHoppers,â But A Pixar Side Project Turned Him Into The Filmâs Viral Spokesanimal
A throwaway gag initially rejected by Disney became an unexpected viral PR asset for Pixarâs Hoppers, teaching the studio a possible new, although largely unpredictable, way to market original animated films in a franchise-dominated industry.
Speaking at View Conference, Hoppers director Daniel Chong and producer Nicole Paradis Grindle reflected on the filmâs production. After wrapping up a standard PowerPoint-style presentation but before opening the talk up to audience questions, the duo teased something different before launching into the charming, unlikely story behind Hoppersâ now-famous reptile side character, Tom the Lizard.
âMonths before Hoppers came out, one of our characters from the movie, Tom the Lizard, went viral with a little clip and it became a meme,â Chong recalled. âAnd it all started with this little stupid video that we produced.â
The clip, featuring Tom repeatedly smashing the âlizardâ emoji button on a mobile phone and a robotic voice saying the word, was originally pitched for the filmâs announcement at Disneyâs D23 fan convention last year. Disney politely passed.
âI kind of donât blame them because if youâre trying to sell this movie, I mean, I donât want to use a lizard to promote it,â Chong admitted. âThere are no beavers in this. And Tom is not really in this movie a whole lot.â
Nevertheless, the filmmakers found the gag too funny to abandon. Grindle arranged for the team to produce it on the side, between work on the feature. When Disney later saw the finished clip, it decided to attach it to the end credits of Pixarâs Elio. The filmmakers assumed almost no one would see it.
But someone did stay until the end, recorded the clip on their phone, and uploaded it to YouTube. Another user then reposted it on TikTok, where it exploded.
What followed was an avalanche of memes, dances, remixes, tattoos, bootleg merchandise, cosplay, and even an official Fortnite skin. One fan even created a website that mimicked Tomâs mobile phone lizard-button spamming experience.
âThis is a marketing dream, guys,â Grindle told the audience with a chuckle.
Disney eventually incorporated Tomâs popularity into its promotional campaign, giving Hoppers a major online awareness boost ahead of its release.
âIn a world of known IP and franchises, we found a little hack to help Hoppers, our original film, boost its profile with audiences before it came out,â Grindle explained.
She cautioned that a marketing department couldnât manufacture the phenomenon.
âCreating a meme canât really be planned,â she said, but added that the experience âdefinitely opened up Disney and Pixarâs marketing eyes to a new possibility on how to build awareness for original films.â

Worldwide If Avengers Doomsday does as well as it seems and is received well, what would a FF sequel looklike Box Office wise?
First Steps did a little over half a billion and we know that Avengers headwinds and tailwinds can lift up movies. See Iron Man 3, Captain Marvel, Wintersoldier etc. So if Doomsday and Secret Wars are both as successful as it looks like they will be, what does that do for the next FF movie (if there is one). They will be really important in Doomsday so I can see them actually getting more interest and love. Maybe in the $800 Million to $1 Billion range. What does everyone else think?
