Vent Hate myself

I hate my life and I’ve only got myself to blame. So close to 6 weeks binge free and then last two days I’ve ruined it. I feel so disgusted with myself.
I’ve been binge eating for 20 years and I don’t know what to do anymore. It’s pathetic but food is the only thing that makes me happy- obviously it doesn’t as I’ve never felt this down in my life.
I hate the way I look and feel in my body, I’m the biggest I’ve ever been and I have to wear the same clothes all the time as nothing else will fit me.
I don’t feel like myself anymore and I can’t remember the last time I was truly happy.I don’t know what to do.I live to fall asleep as it’s the only time I get any peace.

Binge/Relapse Worst binge in years

I am just so tired. I've had a stomach ache today and still managed to binge through it, eating throughout basically the entire day. It's the first time in a long time that I binged until I got physically ill and threw up (I did not choose to do this, I don't have those issues fortunately). My body hurts and I feel so tired... I didn't think I'd have to seek help for this since it was under control for so many years, but it's come back full force, so I think I have to. I just needed to vent, so thank you if you read this.

Vent Feeling bad after eating a lot and just binging

I know this is a sub for binge eating disorder. I don’t have a disorder. But I thought this was the only sub to post this in. So today I eat and binged ate way too much and I’m ashamed of it. I went to a party to start the day had 2 cup cakes couple crackers and few handfuls of chips. Then went home and ate a muffin whole container of crackers half a bag of chips and then even more chips and a apple . I feel ashamed for pigging out this much and want to do better. Sorry if this is not the place to post this

I hate myself

I’ve been trying to lose some weight since this summer
At first it was okay cause I did calorie tracking before and I was familiar with it
I was doing a calorie deficit most of the days and even though I went out in vacation and outings, still I didn’t binge that much and it didn’t bother me staying on track
But this last month (since school started and probably that’s the reason) and especially the last two weeks it has been horrible : I have the worst food noise and I’ve been binging most of the days : I would binge and then the next day I would stick to my deficit and then the day after I would binge again and the cycle goes on
I haven’t been able to study much because when I try to study I get bored and I get the urge to binge so I try to avoid feeling bored by scrolling or watching something or playing games
Tomorrow is my 18th birthday and I’m tired of this bullshit
I wanna feel comfortable in my body but I hate the way I look and my relationship with food
I hope it gets better when I move out and stay far from the triggers

Zoloft helping

hello

i was prescribed zoloft 5 weeks ago for BED and maybe some obsesive behavior like hair pulling and hace seen no improvement at all. the only thing that has changed is that i used to go to the gym a lot and enjoy it and now i just want to stay in bed all day and eat sugary foods. has anyone have any success with Zoloft? should i keep waiting? i was pretty out of control before but at least i was working out and slimmer, so just wanted to know if people who had success on this drug, how long did it take?

Discussion Binge eating help??

Hi, I’m not overweight, however I have gained 6kg in the last 2 months due to consistent BED & bulimia, I don’t know how to stop this cycle and remain consistent 😢

Have been in treatment x2 now, I just don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

I didn’t come preset like this

Have been binge eating to cope with stress, being tired, a job that drains me etc with all the lovely side effects of that for years now. Its such an effective strategy for me to calm down. I do it because it works but it is also destroying me (obviously).

Last night after a binge to cope with reading through pages of work policy, I woke up in the middle of the night with dread and a burning, inflamed stomach and realized I wasn’t always this way. My weight spiraling wasn’t always how I was. Needing tremendous amounts of carbs and sweets to get through daily stress isn’t my factory setting.

It started in my first year of grad school when I was in my mid-early 20s. I was attempting to be a good daughter and have weekly lunches with my mentally unstable mom who always snapped by the end of the lunch, I would go home a wreck, and eat whole bags of cookies to cope. It became a weekly habit, and then a way of coping with grad school, and then work and personal life, and now something I do any time I’m exposed to „bad” foods or any stress. It’s been a problem for a little over 5 years.

Before this, I coped by exercising, having hobbies and interests, LEAVING bad situations, just FEELING sad or angry, or taking a depression nap. Now I stifle everything with food. I am calm and collected up top, with my hand in a bag or box of something. This horrible disorder is a gift from someone I want to be nothing like, so I am giving it back.

This isn’t how I came. This isn’t who I am. This is not my factory setting. I can go back. Realizing that has been huge for me. Maybe it’ll help you. Who were you before this? You can go back. You know how. You just have to go back to being that person.

Discussion Still weighing yourself? And counting calories?

I haven't weighed myself in months because I know from my clothes that I've gone up. I do calorie count. I wish I could stop. I pretty much know serving sizes and the calories of what I'm eating, but I hate being so attached to numbers whether it be my weight or the size of my clothes.

If I got on a scale, I would just be more depressed, which would probably make me binge even though it makes no sense to binge because you're overweight

Advice Needed Relapse, help please

Long story short, I binged and I feel awful. I had a 7 day binge free streak, the longest streak I’ve had since February, and I was so happy about it… and then the same night I binged 7k calories. Obviously now I feel like shit physically and mentally, and I don’t understand why every time I make a tiny bit of progress I ALWAYS regress right then and there. Has anyone else experienced this kind of « one step forward 3 steps back » situation or is it just me?

I’ve also been feeling really REALLY badly abt my body recently so that for sure hasn’t been helping. I haven’t gained weight since August but I haven’t lost any either and boy would I love to lose 10lbs or so. With Halloween, and especially Christmas and all the holiday shows coming up I’m rlly feeling a lot of distress about not looking how I want to look at those shows. I would always binge before/after shows this summer, in part because of this reason (which is crazy because its worsening the problem but that’s part of the disorder now isn’t it) and I don’t want to start binging 3x a week again.

Here’s what happened I think : I had been feeling really good all week. No nighttime binges, if I woke up and felt an urge I would eat this super low calorie smoothie popsicle and chug water and it would fix the problem. I was doing all my workouts on the days I planned to do them and had even been able to stick to an extremely modest defecit without any hunger/issues. On day 7 of not binging I was like : ok I’ll eat at maintenance so I don’t feel the need to binge…. And I didn’t eat at maintenance, I actually ate a few hundred less that I was supposed to as I wasn’t hungry and I woke up that night not hungry physically but with a desperate urge to eat sugar… so that’s what I did and it felt awful of course. Could the not eating at maintenance potentially have contributed even if I wasn’t hungry when I started to binge or no?

If anybody has a strategy I could try to stop rebounding immediately after actually feeling better I would rlly appreciate. 🩷🥲

Binge/Relapse Gone all out this weekend.

I haven’t been great with my eating habits over the past few months, but I have been bingeing less because my roommate keeps me accountable. Sometimes though, it’s too much.

We’ve recently started eating plant-based dinners (I’m not vegan), cutting out all alcohol and caffeine and going on short walks once a day. We signed up too and said I’d count calories (I did well with this a while back) but haven’t got round to doing that yet. I’m in a really bad place mentally atm because I lost my job a few months ago and while I know this is all for my benefit it feels like too much. I have said this to him but he either tries to motivate me or he looks at me like I’m just so lazy and not putting in any effort and making excuses. Which I guess is true but it’s genuinely burning me out to live right now. I could end up forcing us both to move if I can’t get a job, and idk what I’m going to do.

Anyway, he’s away this weekend and I’ve just gone to the extreme. I even threw away the vegan dinner we’d prepped in favor of takeout. Part of me hates myself, for the money I’ve wasted if nothing else, but the other part of me feels like I needed this. No one telling me when I have to wake up or shower by. No one judging me for how much or what I’m eating. No one tracking how lazy I’m being. It’s been incredibly understimulating in the best way and I feel like I’ve had a break. I also have ibs and that’s been better despite eating absolute crap.

I don’t know. I’m torn on how to feel on it. I know we shouldn’t add morality to this but I just needed some time to do what I wanted to. I almost feel good about it, despite it not being good for my health or wallet.

Support Needed Advice seeking

Would appreciate genuine but kind advice. I’m 5’9 female in my late 20s. Baseline weight prior to restriction and bingeing was 143-150 lbs with zero tracking, zero food noise. Restricted food last year and quickly lost to 125 lbs (right at the line of underweight for my height).

Have experienced binge eating over the past year, regained the weight I loss plus some extra (currently weigh around 155). Have tried restricting to lose some of the binge weight, 1600 had me bingeing often. Increased to 1800 and that helped but unfortunately still bingeing 1-2x weekly. Have a nutritionist and I think I’m improving but the binges are very much still happening and I’m scared by weight gain.

What should I do? Is it time to fully cut out binge triggers like protein bars, or does that make things even worse? Can I keep trying to deficit? Also maybe more specific but I binge most often when I’m triggered by a restaurant meal I can’t track (the screw it mentality kicks in). Any tips on that?

Thank you appreciate any advice ❤️

Advice Needed Struggling with food noise, considering GLP but I’m not overweight. ADHD also and would love others insights.

I’m hoping to get insight from others experiencing the same thing as me.

I’ve struggled with food noise for many years, I’m 37 years old and I’m not overweight, some would say I’m fit. I’m
5”7’ - 160 pounds. I strength train 3-4 days a week and play beach volleyball weekly.

Food noise and binge eating has been something I’ve struggled with for many years. I’ve never really been overweight but I feel like I eat like an obese person sometimes, for lack of better words. I consistently try to eat healthy high protein foods, I don’t buy processed foods or a ton of snacks or sweets because I know I will eat it until I’m sick. I’ll have days where I eat really good but my food noise is always there. I’m constantly thinking about my next meal. I’m the person at a party that stays at the food table eating until I’m sick. It’s like I have no control. I over eat until I physically feel sick to my stomach.

Lately I’ve been eating tums when I’ve been over eating, which I hate because I’m a very health person. I try not to take pills and things like that. Some weeks I’ll eat so healthy and then some weekends all I want are donuts and cinnamon rolls and then when I start it, I can’t stop and it’s multiple days of me just eating like shit, me feeling like crap and feeling bad for myself that I have no control. I feel like I’m always trying to lose weight, and I know I could if I would just stick to a healthy diet plan and not binge eat.

I also have ADHD which I know has a lot to do with it. I understand I’m low in dopamine so I get my fix through snacking and sugar.

Lately I’ve been researching if I should start a low dose GLP. But I have a lot of thoughts about this becuase 1) I’m not overweight (I would be happy losing 15-20 pounds) 2) I’m worried, will it affect my mood? I’m already an anxious person and I don’t like taking meds that might altered my mental state (i have to work really hard to feel mentally good) 3) mainly I would want to take it to help with food noise, but I don’t want to have to rely on it because I obviously don’t want to be on it forever.

Then I’m also thinking… and I’m just silly for even considering a GLP in the first place? I should just continue working out and just eat healthy and stop eating shit food. But I really struggle with food noise. But maybe this is something I should really try to fix instead of just taking a GLP? Maybe there is something else I can do for my food noise?

Idk if any of this makes sense or if I’m just rambling. But I’m hoping to connect with others that understand.

Do I consider a GLP or do I just work harder to manage my food noise? Anyone out there with an ADHD brain and food noise, that is “fit” but also considered a GLP?

Thanks in advance!
