Why is everyone disappointed about the high pacing of Black Clover season 2?

I understand you guys, but the high pacing isn't actually a bad thing. I was also shoked first, but when I saw the first episodes, I realized that it is possible to adapt the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc in 13 episodes. The first 170 episodes had a rather low pacing with much of character development, so I think one arc with high pacing and nonstop action should be okay. I just hope that there'll be a Final Season with two cours to bring the story and the characters to a satisfying conclusion.

SPOILERS

Takopi's Original Sin...dude, tf is this anime?

I haven't finished this anime, and I honestly don't think I can. I first heard about this anime through YT reels; I had seen a few over a couple days, and I finally decided to take a look. Right from the get-go, the YT reels did not show a fkn lot of the fucked up shit in this anime.

EP 1 & 2 are 40mins long, which surprised me, but I'm glad they were, given how much happens in them. Main character: Shizuka, aged 11 is broken from the very start. Severely bullied at school, her mother is a sex worker and her all she has is her dog after her father left when she was little. School kids bully her because how her parents are, and how Shizuka gets "special treatment" at school (gets free lunch because she's mostly alone). The main bully, Marina Kirarazaka, is a piece of shit, but has her own troubles. Her father sleeps with Shizuka's mother, and Marina starts taking her rage out on Shizuka, beating her severely.

Now, Takopi, an alien from outer space was sent to earth to make kids happy, and meets Shizuka and grows attached to her. Takopi does his best to make Shizuka happy and get along with her school mates. Tapoki is naive and doesn't see how destroyed Shizuka is and tries to get Shizuka to use "Happy Gadgets", devices that help people make friends.

One of these "Happy Gadgets" is a long ribbon that its infinitely long and indestructible. Shizuka asks for the ribbon, never explaining what she was using for, and Takopi happily handed it to her, thinking it going to be used, correctly. Takopi gives Shizuka the ribbon and she walks off.

Then, we get a time lapse of Tapoki having been waiting for Shizuka since the afternoon till the evening, and he finally goes to check on her. Tapoki goes to Shizuka's house, happy to see her.

And, the next scene, shows Shizuka hanging from the ceiling...making a noose from the indestructible ribbon...a few moments later, the ribbon finally breaks, and Shizuka falls to the floor...very dead.

Seeing this, Tapoki manages to turn back the clock to the previous day where Shizuka is still alive. That's when Takopi does his best to keep Shizuka from wanted to kill herself.

The first episode hit me in a way that I didn't know what to think, other than "wtf were the creators thinking?!" and, wrongly "this is so fkn sad its good". I haven't even seen an anime like this before, and had debated if I could keep watching past episode 2. But, I do plan to finish the series and wanna go see if the manga is worse than the anime (like I'm expecting it to be).

Anyways, this is my thoughts. If you feel like watching this anime, be vary; and if you have seen this and haven't been kicked in the gut, there's something very wrong with you.

After all his efforts, they're so ungrateful ๐Ÿ˜ช I'm so angry at the parliament. Asta keeps yapping, thinking they share the same mindset as him poor child. Then the royals intervene and don't even defend him or call out the lies; they just drop a note from the Wizard King talking about investigating the devils. I'm so upset! ๐Ÿ˜ค

Anime! Returning to Zero (Re:Zero Review) Spoiler

I have an odd relationship with Re:Zero. It's not that I hate Re:Zero nor that I particularly like it either. I do often think of it as over-hyped by fans, but I'm not going to say that it's without merit.

Re:Zero, for me, is in an odd place. It's a series that seems to have such a rich world and wonderful designs both visually and world-building, but there always seems that there is something missing. It has all the potential to be something better. My post here goes over my thoughts on the series (anime only), so I'd love to hear how you feel about the series comparatively.

Discuss! As a woman, I find the way Mushoku Tensei portrays sexual misconduct and treats its female characters deeply disturbing Spoiler

All of what's below will be spoilersss, be warned ladies and gentlemen !

So I recently discovered Mushoku Tensei, and I genuinely cannot understand how a series like this has become so widely celebrated.

I'm a woman, I love anime, fantasy, and complex characters. I'm perfectly capable of appreciating morally flawed protagonists. But there's a difference between exploring a deeply disturbed character and seemingly rewarding his disturbing behavior.

We're talking about a grown man who dies and gets reincarnated with his memories and consciousness intact. He then engages in sexually inappropriate behavior involving young girls, and the series repeatedly presents aspects of that behavior as comedy or fanservice.

And somehow, I'm supposed to see this as a beautiful redemption story?

What disturbs me isn't simply that Rudeus is a pervert. It's how the story treats his behavior, how easily certain boundaries are brushed aside, and how he ultimately ends up surrounded by women who love him, marrying multiple partners and having children.

I'm not saying that a character who does horrible things cannot grow or find happiness. But where is the meaningful accountability for his sexual behavior? Why does the story so often seem more interested in making his actions entertaining than exploring how disturbing they actually are?

And what worries me even more is the audience this kind of storytelling reaches.

Anime is incredibly popular among teenagers and young men. Media doesn't automatically determine someone's morality, and enjoying a fictional story doesn't make someone a predator.

But I think it's perfectly reasonable to question the messages we normalize, especially when sexual harassment, violations of consent, and the sexualization of young-looking female characters become recurring entertainment.

What does it say about our entertainment culture when these elements can coexist so comfortably with a story celebrated as a masterpiece?

I keep seeing people defend the series by saying that Rudeus is supposed to be flawed, that it's about personal growth, or that people who criticize it simply don't understand good writing.

But having a flawed protagonist doesn't automatically make the way you portray his flaws thoughtful or responsible.

Beautiful animation doesn't erase uncomfortable writing choices. Great worldbuilding doesn't make sexual misconduct less disturbing. And calling something a redemption arc doesn't exempt it from criticism.

I'm also exhausted by the expectation that women should simply overlook these things because they're supposedly normal in anime.

Why should I have to ignore the sexualization of young female characters to appreciate a fantasy story?

Why is my discomfort treated as a failure to understand fiction, rather than a legitimate criticism of how that fiction portrays women and girls?

I'm not advocating censorship, and I'm not claiming everyone who enjoys Mushoku Tensei is a bad person.

But I genuinely think we should be more critical of what we celebrate, particularly when it comes to sexual boundaries and the way women are represented.
I find the normalization of these elements deeply alienating. And the overwhelming praise for this series makes that feeling even worse.

I'd genuinely like to hear from other women who have watched it. Did you feel the same discomfort?

And to people who consider it a masterpiece: can you explain why these aspects of the story don't bother you, without simply dismissing the criticism as people being too sensitive?
