If someone does not give you the same energy back, do not waste yours on trying to win them over. While I mainly mean for dating, this applies to most relationships. Dating wise, i wasted a lot of time pining after women I thought I could eventually win them over, and it just allowed me to be a doormat with some very cringy rationalizations for why it was okay
