If any of the C9 players or staff are reading this, don't listen to the haters saying that you are all a bunch of frauds. They're right, but don't listen to them.

In a way losing in the LCS studio means C9 once again didn't go to an international

481

u/Lynchie24 18h ago

As far as I'm concerned, they haven't. They lost in PLAYINS...

BR costreamers were laughing hard when C9 was banning JAYCE AND VAYNE vs Guigo lol

They did no scout. Leaving Voli open (a very Guigo pick) was just the cherry to end a totally clueless draft.

87

u/OkkotsuYutaFanboy 13h ago

Also, let's not forget Guigo was already 2-0 on Voli vs C9 THIS YEAR

This is not a pick he beat C9 with 5 years ago, it literally happened 7 months ago lmao

Blaber really broke down in tears when they qualified only for them to be out in a day 😭

221

u/bazinga221 17h ago

I feel so bad for Blaber. He's a very likeable guy and he has his moments as a player, but he's also so deeply flawed in a way that I'm not sure is fixable at this point.

142

u/Chrystoler the faith lives on 17h ago

I've said it before, but I really think he should have been let go from C9 a couple years ago for both his and the team's sake.

It's clear it's not working out for him there, he has amazing talent but needs a new environment. Farm that honeymoon phase, he's been at C9 way too long without success at the level that he wants to be at. Somewhere where he's not a shotcaller, I think it would do him a world of good.

75

u/TheHyperLynx Nom Nom Nom 14h ago

Its crazy, when I think of blaber I still think hes the new jungler, hes been C9's jungler for over 8 YEARS!!! He's been on C9 for a few months longer than what Bjerg was at TSM...

Top comments from MVK Esports vs. FURIA Post-Match Thread

Overhyped brainless region that somehow getting more slots and favourable seeding by RIOT despite abysmal showing at every Internationals.

LCS never deserved to lose their seed for Brazil. I’m totally okay with Brazil having two seeds, but it shouldn’t have been at the expense of LCS. Brazil has no results to justify it.

192

u/Miserable_Ad_1195 18h ago

I like how the second comment isn't even correct because Brazil didn't even have 2 seeds last year, they only got it this year when LCS also got their 3rd back. and they most likely got it precisely because LCS keeps losing to them

660

u/bazinga221 18h ago

Also all the comments about Americas Cup being fake because C9 were jetlagged and didn't care.

Furia didn't play the patch for worlds until the start of this play-in. The CBLOL final was the last saturday and they play on 26.17. It's even worse for C9.

C9 committing domestic terrorism with their inability to play the game when they have any sort of a lead. What an embarrassment, 1 game from sweeping KC to being first out of playins getting stomped by Furia who had just gotten stomp the day prior.

Meanwhile there were like three moments where C9 could have jumped MF in postfights with Vi ult on cd and nothing happened. Night and day contrast of decisiveness. As true as it always was, I guess.

I still want to see the late lane Loki death the camera looked away from, because that led to the herald fight and Furia slingshotting ahead. What even happened on that flash.

Dom walking into the team meeting room after this series, as well

I can't believe how dumb C9 played in the moment. Just walking up to objectives and losing their fucking minds multiple times. I don't know if the comms were literally just chimp screeches and vague gesturing at the monitor but that's how it felt.

This MF felt completely untouched, what the actual fuck.

u/nguyenjitsu 18h ago

Every drake fight was so embarrassing. You play against Lyon who's legitimately world class at drake set ups and when to give/take them and they just int their faces off at every drake team fight. Like how have you not learned anything from them

Brazilian fan here. You guys are going to blame the players, and yeah, that was a terrible performance. That said, as someone who actually follows FURIA, I can say that Dom made massive draft mistakes. Quick example: the Jayce ban in game 3. He clearly hasn't watched a single Guigo match lol. The whole series was a disasterclass in preparation by Cloud9.

114

u/Dsalgueiro 16h ago

He banned Jayce, Vayne, and Varus. The day Guigo plays with one of those three picks, pigs will fly.

(If it were against LOS, it would make sense. Zest picked Vayne and destroyed Siwoo, who picked Jayce in the SOOP LoL Cross-Region Invitational).

22

u/Zjoway 17h ago

From Na, C9 is just so limited in draft. They like to collect small leads and accumulate it. But if they do one big mistake it all collapse. Just pick champ that outscale their draft and gg

I'm not even a C9 fan exactly, moreso a fan of NA at large, and even so this is the most bitterly disappointed I've been by any team since the Hans TL roster failed to make worlds. This organization has just absolutely refused to figure it out for years now, and their failure is not just disgusting in isolation but actively damaging to the future of NA League as a whole.

NA needed this worlds. We really fucking needed to be good this year.

C9 is disgusting.

195

u/expert_on_the_matter 18h ago

C9 is the NA Fnatic, the difference is in EU Fnatic doesn't make Worlds anymore.

blaber has been the common denominator for years now. He wasn't the only issue today but you gotta start there.

120

u/samylam 18h ago

yes 100% tbh I literally don't even care if he is the worst player on the team or not (he never is). C9 consistently has underperformed the like like 6 years with him as their jungler. it is time to move on

I've said this once and way too many times, but I'll say it once more. It's C9's attachment to Blaber as their jungler for 7-8 years. How many toplaners have C9 changed? How many ADCs? How many supports? And especially, how many midlaners? I thought this split, I have been proven wrong, but unfortunately, I was right. I am not even a C9 fan. I'm a FlyQuest fan who hate watches C9 all the time, but I honestly can't even believe it that even I am disappointed. It's Blaber, and has always been Blaber. It's C9's attachment to Blaber that led them to their downfall. They could've had any LCKCL junglers, like Guwon or Sharvel. They could've had Yuuji from NACL, Yukino from KCB, they could've had KryRa under the guidance of Dom. No, they chose to stick with Blaber for all these years. He's the common denominator. Honestly glad that this happened. Blaber is finally out and if he isn't, I hope C9 fail endlessly

101

u/ManagementParty3675 17h ago

Imagine if C9 had kept Jojo, and then used him to bring in Inspired? Their roster could be Thanatos/Inspired/Jojo/Berserker/Vulcan right now. Obviously better rosters could be assembled still but this isn't even a stretch

49

u/Valuable_Berry_8626 17h ago

There is no reality in any version of the universe where C9 couldve afforded Jojo + Inspired.

They already realized they way overspent on Jojo and did anything they could to get rid of him. Inspired would've cost even more than him. The roster youre describing is probably 1.5million / year on salaries alone and Jack has been very clear that their goal is to do the best they can on a budget.

NA, also known as “Near Arby's”, is known as the fastest region to arrive at Arby's at Worlds 2026. Since they gave up on Worlds 2026, they are investing in Speedruns. In particular they are current worldrecord holders in Arby's Menu Any % and Arby's All Stores Fastest Arrival thanks to prestigious Near Arby's organization, Clown9.

When they lost at the Americas Cup, they blamed the travel and jet lag.

When they lost at EWC, they said Lyon just didn't care about the tournament.

So what's the excuse this time? The pressure of playing in front of a home crowd?

Como brasileiro, sempre tive dificuldade em entender a cultura americana. O que me fascinava era como eles gostam de se gabar da própria liberdade, o que era estranho pra mim, porque eu não achava que tinha menos liberdade do que eles. Eu sempre pensava: “Qual é a diferença?”. Mas, depois desse jogo, finalmente entendi. A NA do Norte é livre pra caralho.

I always thought 'What is the difference'. However after this game I finally understand it. NA is just so f*cking free.

Team is too afraid of making any mistakes while ahead so they refuse to play aggressively. They refuse to field APA despite the team clearly lacking a voice to make any decisions for the team or call any shots. It really was a shameful performance.

Next season, if C9 want to even try to be competitive, they need to make some serious changes. Maybe Loki. Maybe Thanatos. Maybe Tactical. Blaber. Something has to give.

I'm embarrassed as an NA fan.

45

u/niihoyninyoi 18h ago

Vulcan had a quiet day today but I think he was genuinely the only player that had any sauce in their first series.

It's like their entire game revolves around him setting up their fights and if he doesn't get his conditions they can't play the game and run around like headless chickens and get picked.

Loki gapped in 8 consecutive games. Again I ask, why are we importing Koreans to just get shit stomped in every international? Might as well do that with domestic players.

133

u/fredy31 18h ago

Yeah tbh its an easy fucking math.

A-team koreans stay in korea.

B-Team koreans go to china because of the paycheck. Hell, even a-team koreans do.

So when na calls... We get c-team koreans. Good fucking luck performing internationally
