Rant I’m 21 And There’s Still Restrictions On My Phone

About a year ago an online friend sent me a package as a birthday gift, my mom flipped out so badly that she put rly strict downtime (or screentime whatever) restrictions on Discord and such, she can also see what I’m doing on my phone at all times. That was a year ago and its STILL GOING ON

I might ask later today if she can FINALLY take away the parental controls but honestly idk if she will even though I’m a legal adult now. I honestly think that even if I moved out (if I had the funds to) she would STILL have those controls on because I just can’t be trusted with anything apparently.

And for the record, there was nothing even bad in the package, just a dress, some candy and some special Tea from England. That’s what caused all of this…

I recently turned 25 and it sounds like a serious age to me😭. But I am just a kid. Like just a few months back I passed my school (not literally but it feels like it) and then I was just studying in my college and boom I am already 25. And now relatives have started talking about marriage but aren't we too young for it😭. Isn't it for adults lol... Sometimes it scares me.

Advice (23 M) I feel like I'm just desperately waiting for the next chapter of my life to begin.

TLDR: 23 Year Old Graphic Design Graduate, been unemployed/job hunting for 3 months to little success.

When I was in high school/college, every year felt like a new chapter of my life, with new characters, settings, the works. Even during the mundane stuff, there was always something clear on the horizon, biggest thing being a college education, which brought all sorts of freedoms, new friends, and loads of self improvement. Then four years and one fantastic internship later, here I am, home alone on Friday night. (No better time for exercise.)

It's not as if I've just been applying to jobs, I exercise a lot, and hang out with my friends regularly, and enjoy spending time with my family as well, but it just isn't as fulfilling for me; and the main reason is that the next chapter isn't set in stone like previous years, it's outside of my control.

Here's my main issue, I want to start my independent adult life, to start my career, meet new people, maybe settle down, etc, etc. And for any of that to happen, I NEED a job. I need a job to get money, so I can pay bills, rent, etc. But despite all of my efforts, I'm still unemployed, so I feel stuck.

Now you might be saying, "Cmon son, it's not so bad! You can still meet people while being unemployed, and living with your parents!" And to that I say, how? I don't have disposable income for long term hobbies, (first thing I'm doing once I'm employed), and even the free hobbies like a run club, A: Require me to drive a ways to even attend, and B: I'd much rather work out alone. That's not enough touching a love life, which is a whole other can of worms.

Now look, I know relying on a major life change to shake things up is flawed, but what can I say? I'm not sure how to navigate a stage of my life that is solely in the hands on recruiters and HR? I'm doing the best I can to improve my applications, cover letters, etc, but the market SUCKS, and it doesn't seem like it's getting any better.

I KNOW I don't NEED to drastically change my life, but I can't stay here forever. There will come a time when all my friends eventually do their own thing, it's already slowly happening! I'm scared that I'll still be here in a year, single, unemployed, living with my parents, I don't want that, but despite my efforts, I'm still stuck!

I guess if I had to close this out, it'd be with a question.

What do you do when everything is uncertain, when you've tried to make the changes you need, but it's not working? What do you do when you feel completely stuck, and not sure how to change?

Rant Leaving my hometown.

I think alot of people experience this dread and hope i’m feeling right now when leaving their hometown. I know the ins and outs of this small city and next summer I’ll finally be leaving it. i’m moving to amsterdam next summer which is 3x bigger than my current city.

I’ve grownup here my entire life, my family and friends life here. I have very fond memories here but at the same time i have alot of memories and people i want to leave behind, and never see, hear or speak of again.

I’m eager to leave this horrible city behind and leave those horrible people with it. I want to start fresh with new people and a new environment. I’m moving in with a close friend who lives in Amsterdam so i wont be completely alone in a new city, luckily.

But it feels bittersweet to hate a city i have spend my whole childhood in.

I'm 23. I just graduated college and I don't know what to do with my life. How do I improve my life and what are the things I should do in my early 20's?

How do you deal with sudden feeling of lonelyness as a single...?

It's been so while I had talked with a person that I was romantically into. But we weren't dating. Seeing people in front of me having cute dates, handmade gifts, letters, matching wallpaper or keychain, exchanging their pics and parfumes are giving a heart break. It feels like thirsty though on romantically. Ive tried many things. For example, studying, new languages, math, psychology, art, reading, sport, music, hanging out with friends, talking about it, focusing on myself and etc. However it just makes me feel that nothing gives dopamine. Should I date, try situationship or flirting???

Pls, tell me what you wouldve do if you were me?

is it weird

for context I met this girl and we kinda of were flirting with each other. I was too shy to ask her for her number or ig or whatever and we went our separate ways. later that day, I dont know how, but I found her on insta.

would it be weird if I followed her? even though she didn't explicitly give it to me. does that give stalker vibes? lol

Discussion Anyone into poetry ?

I’ve recently gotten back into poetry, I find it as a beautiful way to express my feelings and thoughts. Thing is I lack inspiration sometimes or I would be in need of advice. So I thought it would be nice to have someone who feels the same way about poetry to talk to. My poetry digs into overall psychology, sociology and politics.
