Comic Discussion Never thought I'd like this Trio so much! (Scott, Yana and Cain)

I completely didn't see this trio coming, but I’ve grown so attached to them working together. Having two mystical powerhouses who are total knuckleheads w/ each other, both trying their best to do good—even when they tend to go off the rails sometimes—and seeing their loyalty to Scott grow is just really heartwarming. Scott inspiring these two potentially world-ending magical threats to stand by his side and fight for his mission is so endearing, and I’d actually be pretty bummed if they weren’t on the same team moving forward. I really like Kwannon and Scott dynamic too

Comic Discussion Forge is such an underutilized and cool character and it’s truly unfortunate that he’s often regulated to ‘’Storm’s ex boyfriend’’ when he could be so much more.

Most people that are familiar with Forge know him as one of Storm’s ex partners that she used to date back in the 90s. It’s kind of unfortunate that the only time he’s ever brought up is when there’s discourse on who is the best partner for Storm?(T’Challa, Logan, or Forge?) The only difference is that T’Challa and Logan are both popular characters that don’t revolve around Storm and have their own storylines but it feels like the same can’t be said for Forge when he’s actually a very interesting character that more X-Men writers should take more advantage of utilizing in storylines.

Forge is a mutant who has the power to invent and create anything subconsciously without having the full understanding of it. It’s pretty much Intuitive Aptitude and the closest comparison I can think of when it comes to this superpower is Sylar from Heroes. While Forge isn’t as smart as super geniuses like Tony, T’Challa, Doom, Beast, or Reed, he’s arguably more tech savvy than any of them since his whole entire mutant ability is intuitive aptitude. His ability is insanely broken and creative on paper and he’s really only held back by his own intelligence since he doesn’t have the full understanding of what he usually creates but still he has probably one of the most useful and creative powers for a mutant in the X-Men universe.

He’s pretty much a MacGyver, and he’s showcased crazy feats such as experimenting on himself to turn himself into an Omega level mutant and creating the Captain Krakoa battle suit. Not only that but Forge is also knowledgeable and capable of using magic via Native American mysticism. He basically could be X-Men’s version of Doctor Doom but except a good guy since he’s not only a tech savant but also a mystic practitioner. It’s so much creative applications that writers could do with his powers on paper. A character like him he should utilized way more and on paper he could easily be one of the X-Men’s main assets and attract more fans since he’s a Native American comic book character and there’s not much representation when it comes to Native Americans in the superhero genre. He’s way more than just being Storm’s former significant other.

Comic Discussion I feel like X-Fans who are used to Madison Jeffries being the soft-spoken, awkward robot fucker just aren’t prepared for how he’s introduced in Alpha Flight, where he rolls in, ugly, gruff, and blue collar, all charm and rough edges, and proceeds to be the coolest dude for the next 15 or so issues.

It’s so funny how the book spends issue after issue building up to Alpha Flight’s showdown with Delphine Courtney and Omega Flight only for Madison to nonchalantly handle them singlehanded in a parking lot while Alpha Flight is off dealing with Beyonder nonsense.

That “Hiya, Lil” cracks me up every time. Dude’s game is unparalleled.

Comic Discussion I just read "Excalibur Sword Is Drawn"... 😨

So, I’m making progress on my Claremont reading guide, and I finally read the beginning of Excalibur I was a bit worried, thinking it might have a slow start kind of like X-Factor but the art in Excalibur is phenomenal I really enjoyed this one-shot. Rachel Summers gets some moments to shine after having been missing for a loooong time. Also, the way Kurt calls out Captain Britain making him come to his senses and join the final battle was just great.

Comic Discussion There's a dark irony in the gut who was once horrified by and hated his own body's ever changing mutation using a virus that forcefully turns people into mutants.

It's exactly the same as what he went through but it's like exactly categorically better in any real way.

Emma is definitely Aphrodite. I think some people would say Ororo is Zeus because of her powers but i think she fits more with Demeter. Magneto is Zeus to me. Logan is Ares

Comic Discussion Peach Momoko is doing a Maystorm series in 2027, on the left is Magik, but who is on the right, it looks like Cyclops but we already have Natsu, maybe a grown up version of the character.

Question Serious question: what does Warren’s (Angel) future actually look like?

Post image
32 Upvotes

So... Fugitive X-Force will end after 5 comics... What do we actually do with Warren?

Because surely we have more ideas than oh no... Archangel is taking over again! for the 100th time lol.

Main X-Men team?

Let him lead his own X-Force?

Let him finally OWN Archangel instead of constantly being terrified of it?

In the 90s we had the metal wings just fine.. we seem to be using uncanny x force as the template..fair great story

And... can the man find some happiness? 😂

Betsy again(my preferred.. still a story there to tell)? Kwannon and all the absolutely insane baggage THAT would involve? Laura and the weird “you dated younger me” situation? Monet? Someone completely new?

Hell... Selene. Terrible idea. I already want to read it. Think about it. That's a girl who would call his normal form lesser and get him to embrace archangel...

Warren has been an X-Man since 1963. There has to be more story here.

So... where would you take him?
