Discussion Searching for Videographer (PAID)

đŸŽ„ ISO: Videographer / Video Production Creative | Paid Opportunity

I'm looking for a talented videographer in the Pullman/Moscow area (or surrounding communities) to collaborate with me on an upcoming interview-style production.

My vision is a professionally filmed, 20–30 minute investigative interview/discussion, with a polished, bright, daytime talk-show aesthetic combined with the thoughtful cinematography and storytelling of a documentary. We can sit down and discuss the vision upon finding the right individual or team!

I'm looking for someone who has experience with:

  • Multi-camera interview setups, framing, and creative shot composition
  • Professional lighting, preferably with their own softboxes or continuous lighting equipment
  • Capturing high-quality footage with a clean, polished, editorial appearance
  • Creating a visually engaging production through thoughtful camera angles and transitions

Project details:
📍 Filming location: Rented studio space in the Coeur d'Alene area. Gas cost will be included in your pay package.

🎬 Approximately 1–2 hours of filming, producing a finished 20–30 minute segment.

This is a paid opportunity! Compensation is negotiable based on experience, equipment, and the scope of work.

I'm also interested in working with someone who offers post production editing including camera cuts, color grading, audio enhancement, titles, and supporting visual elements. Additional compensation would be provided for editing and creative collaboration. A professional level of editing is not 100% necessary, and I am willing to assist on any level.

I have a fairly specific creative vision but would love to work alongside someone who can contribute their own expertise and ideas to help bring it to life.

If you're interested, please comment or send me a message with examples of your previous work, your equipment, and your general rates.

I'm looking for quality, creativity, and someone who genuinely enjoys the production process. 🎬

Advice Great Win by WSU Women’s Volleyball

I am located in Boise and decided to watch the women’s volleyball team play Boise State.

Game was looking lost when Boise State was up 2 sets to 0. Wazzu bounced back with the reverse sweep đŸ§č.

Lots of Cougs were in the gym. Atmosphere was great. If you have a chance to support this team I would highly recommend.

Advice I'm thinking about transferring to WSU landscaping, nursery/greenhouse management program but I am not too sure

I was recently talking to graduates of WSU, when I told them about my interest in the Ag and nursery degree they suggested going to the University of Idaho instead because they were not happy with the direction WSU was taking their programs in ( i cant remember specifically what so don't ask lol) If I had to though it would more than likely be about hands on teaching and learning. So here are the questions

  1. To any students in the Landscaping, nursery and greenhouse management degree, would you say that the programs/courses are good? That they provide a good balance of "in the classroom" learning and hands on opportunities?

  2. Have you noticed a decline in facility management? What I mean is, are their tools and equipment actually running and available to use?

  3. Would you strongly recommend these programs?

Now I fully understand that WSU was built for their Agriculture degrees but after hearing from WSU alumni about their advice it really paints the picture that they care about adding more professionals into Eastern Washington's economy and to get, not just more, but better qualified people into these industries. Now If I were a football player they would more than likely say to go to WSU and play for them because who doesn't want to see their college winning games and what not.

I also don't know where else to go for advice on this because it was something said in passing, and I'm not from the Pullman area or know anyone from there to ask. So its reddit time

Student Life Fabrication help??

Are there any students with access to the fab lab? Not even sure this is something possible, but I have a hamster cage that needs new side panels, but I have no way to cut it myself and I’d like some specific ventilation if possible. I’d buy the acrylic and pay some for the labor if anyone’s interested or has suggestions for a cost effective approach!
Edit: thanks everybody! I emailed FIZ and am setting up a time to chat with the staff this week. Sounds like exactly what I was looking for!

Discussion Has anyone noticed that Spark has become noisy?

Does anyone know what happened to Spark? It used to be so much quieter, but now it is simply filled with random YouTube videos, some of which are music videos from the 80s, or some random video that's loud. I am no architect, but is not having a big screen that periodically screams advertisements defeat the purpose of having a third place?

Discussion Week 6 - My color schema won't go more red on some of these...I didn't anticipate needing to go lower. Side note: Get your Flu Shot...

Post image
26 Upvotes

Based on questions from last year:

What is this chart showing? A weekly heat map tracking WSU’s win probability for every game on the schedule. The numbers are straight from ESPN’s FPI matchup predictor.

What is FPI? ESPN’s Football Power Index. It’s their predictive rating model that weighs roster talent, efficiency, and schedule strength to simulate games and spit out win odds. Think of it as an algorithm’s best guess, continuously updated.

Why do the numbers change week to week? Because games get played. Injuries, blowouts, and fluke outcomes feed new data into the model every week, shifting the odds for the rest of the season.

How do you calculate these numbers? I don’t. ESPN does. I just pull the percentages from their matchup predictor and drop them into a heat map so you can spot trends without squinting at raw data tables.

What do the colors mean? Red = bad matchup. Green = Good matchup. Everything in between is a sliding scale of heartburn.

Is this predicting scores or spreads? Win percentage only. Straight-up odds that WSU wins the game...no projected scores, no spreads, no over/unders.

HEY! When I looked, it said 70.2%, NOT 70.1%! You're a phony! I scrape the data on Wednesday. ESPN’s model keeps crunching numbers throughout the week, so a 0.1% delta by Friday is just background recalculation. Direct your outrage at ESPN, not me. đŸ„ș

Why doesn’t it add up to 100% for each game? Every box is strictly WSU’s win chance. It’s not displaying the opponent's side, so there’s nothing to sum to 100%.

Why did [Opponent] drop in FPI after winning (or rise after losing)? FPI grades efficiency against expectations, not just the final score. Squeaking past an FCS team by three will ding you and taking a top-10 team to overtime might bump you up. The model cares how you played, not just that you won.

We play the same team twice...why are the percentages different? Home vs. away, travel, short weeks, rest differentials, and calendar placement. Plus, by game two, the model has weeks of extra tape on both rosters.

OMG why use ESPN? [Source X] is way better. Because it's sterile and I like the taste.

Basically...I can get this information week 0. It's consistent, and I've been tracking it for like a decade.

Why do you update this every week? Watching the trajectory swing across twelve weeks is fascinating...and I'm a nerd.

Discussion Business Administration online

Hi, I'm planning to transfer my associate in business to WSU global and take online classes in business administration/management.

  1. I would like to know if there are any students in the same major and how their experience at this school?

  2. Will they require you to have cameras on during exams? One of the things I hate is being recorded while taking exams and I'm looking for a school that doesn't force students to do that?

  3. How cheap/ expensive is this program would be ?

Thank you so much and I would appreciate any feedback you can give.

Student Life What are college classes like for undergrads in the AI era?

I graduated in spring 2024 so I caught basically the beginning of what we’re seeing today, but even back then AI wasn’t half of what it is today in 2026. Just wondering if any undergrads can tell me what it’s like when it comes to essays, take home tests, homework, etc nowadays. Do professors encourage AI usage? Or do they have methods to curtail it?

Academics WSU Course scheduling aid (Crimson Scheduler)

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share a recent site I made to help with planning out courses for upcoming semesters; Crimson Scheduler!
https://crimsonscheduler.com

The site lets you quickly search and navigate different course offerings in all the campuses and terms available. There are also different features such as filtering by UCOREs, time of day, and also quick access to professor's RMP pages.

I'd love to hear if you find Crimson Scheduler helpful, and sharing the word about it would be appreciated. I really think this could be helpful for many WSU students! (Including myself, I'm a big user of my own site lol)

Housing Looking for a cheaper apartment than Timberline on the Green in Pullman

My cousin and I have been bouncing apartments the last year or so and I don't think I've ever had a worse living experience than dealing with Timberline on the Green's shitty management response time.

Our appliances have been busted since month 1, but it took them 2 months to actually answer our work orders after several visits from us and our third roommate to their office to complain.

This week, they sent out an email giving tenants the chance to renew our leases for next year at the current rate we have (not at a cheaper rate, the current rate. Practically foreshadowing that higher rent prices are imminent if we don't renew now). I'd like to know of anyone can guide us to a relatively cheaper apartment we can move into, or at least one that's similar to Timberline (we pay at least 600 a month which includes utilities and our furniture package which was a mistake). Our budget falls within the 500-600 a month range, but Timberline is just becoming too ridiculous to deal with now.

Student Life [RideShare] Weekly rides between Pullman & Seattle / I-90 corridor

Hey everyone,
I commute back and forth between Pullman and the Seattle area pretty regularly (usually at least once a week) for work and family, and I always have extra space in the vehicle.

If you're tired of riding the bus or looking for an easier way home for the weekend, holidays, or breaks, let me know!

Route: Pullman -> Seattle (and vice versa), running along the I-90 corridor. Flexible with stops if you're in Spokane, Ellensburg, the Tri-Cities, or along the West Side.

Schedule: My schedules pretty flexible for the most part give or take a few days.

Vehicle: Tesla Model Y, will have to stop and charge atleast once in ellensburg for 30 minutes. Just a heads up.

Details: Just looking to split travel costs and help fellow Cougs get home safely.
Drop a comment or shoot me a DM with your preferred dates and times if you're looking for a reliable ride! Go Cougs! đŸŸ
