I've seen many type of people try to say "Character X is better than Character Y because Character X got a redemption". Which yeah, but saying they got redeemed isn't automatically better writing. If anything, I'd argue it would lead to worse writing. If Character Y is meant to be sympathetic and doesn't get redeemed, that doesn't make it bad writing (at least most of the time). Sometimes, it can serve as a nice tale on how some people just can't be able to change or be saved. However, if you try to pull off a redemption in a badly written way, then that just sucks and feels lame and rushed as hell.

Sorin (a short stay in Hell) - a Mormon that died around 40 believing in the wrong religion. When he died a he met a devil who told him he did not need to worry about eternal damnation, instead he only needed to serve a short sentence in purgatory. He was then sent to the Library of babel forced to find the book that contained his life story down to the correct punctuation in a library trillions of times larger than the observable universe.
Agni- a man with a healing factor set ablaze by inextinguishable flames
Sisyphus- a man cursed by the gods to roll a bolder up a hill only for it to be sent back down to the bottom, repeating the cycle forever.

I’ve watched many works from a wide variety of countries, and most of them share a common trait: the protagonist is either an orphan, doesn’t know who their father is, has lost their father or don't even realize their father exist like why? I mean, why does this type of storyline appear so frequently?

Luffy speed running the grandline is hilarious ngl, zoro spent more time with mihawk than with luffy, brook has hardly been with the crew for 10 weeks, wano just happened like two weeks ago. We've been on the same day of elbaf since last two years, Dressrosa arc was hardly a afternoon and it lasted years.
Hard to believe that luffy went from beating east blue bums to elite satanist govt in the span of few months in his career as pirate(excluding timeskip obv). He was already moving like a god before his fruit retcon, also the bonds between the strawhats are way too deep to believe they've hardly been together for months like they're ready to throw lives for each other. Why is oda scared of aging luffy and crew? This would all be fixed a 2 week timeskip after each arc. It's been almost 30 years since this manga started and timeline is such a mess

I saw a post comparing the symbolism of the sea in AOT, Vinland Saga and One Piece and while I wouldn't judge which is better, I feel people were discrediting OP in the comments.
The sea in One Piece is considered a symbol of freedom and adventure by Luffy and most pirates. Most people in the One Piece world remain on one island so setting out to sea is considered adventurous and brave.
And there is a huge irony, in Egghead it was revealed that the sea is the result of a centuries old war and the world is going to sink. We realise that the sea has been used by the World Government to separate and isolate the population and maintain their control.
This irony is one of my favourite things about One Piece.

In many works, there are these moments where Mcs face a grieve danger but this very danger is actually a disguised boon that benefits the Mcs more than actual boons
The most famous and annoying example for me is Luffy vs Kaido first fight
Luffy went stupidly to fight the strongest without planning risking his entire crew and allies, instead of getting punishment Oda rewarded him by meeting one person who knows exactly how to damage the impregnable body of the strongest and on top of that he met some allies inside the prison
The trope itself isn't bad but repeating or using it as hidden rewards is annoying

He is strongest of all, the smartest of all, a master of every single skill, gods suck his dick, heroines fall in love with him, heroes trust him to raise their kids, all his crimes are forgiven no matter how cruel.
This is catnip for an incel. A power fantasy so blatant it's actually kinda cringe.
