Hey everyone!
I've been working on an original story for the past two years, and I'm now looking for someone who would like to join me as a genuine co-author and help bring it to life.
Honestly, I'm more interested in finding someone who's genuinely passionate, curious, and committed than someone who's already an exceptionally skilled writer. You don't need to be published, have years of experience, or consider yourself a professional. What matters most to me is that you enjoy creating stories, care about the project, are willing to learn and improve, and can see yourself sticking with something long-term.
The story is set in the early 2000s. The chapters would be in the first person, with occasional shifts in point of view. It's a dark sci-fi story with a complex world, an original power system, a large cast of characters, and a plot that explores darker themes. I already have around 550 pages of planning and reference material, including detailed worldbuilding, character profiles, and chapter-by-chapter outlines.
There's a lot of groundwork in place, but that doesn't mean everything is set in stone. I'm absolutely open to new ideas, alternative directions, character changes, plot twists, and even major revisions if we both believe they'll make the story better. I don't want someone who feels like they have to follow my outline blindly. I want someone who can look at the material and think, "What if we did this differently?"
I'm looking for a creative partner. I'm also happy to help wherever I can outside the actual writing. I can work on planning, organizing the material, discussing ideas, reviewing the manuscript, helping with editing and revisions, and handling other aspects of the project. Writing polished prose is not my strongest skill, which is one of the main reasons I'm looking for a collaborator, but I don't expect the other person to carry every other part of the project alone.
I'm open to discussing how we'd divide the work, how much creative freedom we'd each have, and what kind of arrangement would feel fair to both of us. I'm not looking to hire someone for a one-off.
Even if you're unsure whether you're experienced enough, feel free to reach out. I'd rather talk to someone who's excited about the idea than miss out on a great creative partnership because they think they're not qualified enough.
I'm happy to share more details about the story with anyone who's interested, answer questions, and see whether we'd be a good fit. We can start by discussing the project and perhaps working on a small scene together before making any long-term commitments.
If you would be interested write me in dms!
