She slipped her collar, so no tag on, but she’s chipped.

Working on a local event based newsletter, not trying to be the news, moreso just trying to aggregate everything going on over the weekend.
It started as a project for myself, but posting it publically really isn't that much work.
Anyways, feel free to subscribe(its free obviously) every Thursday.
Open to criticism.

My 10 year old has really gotten into audiobooks in the last year or so. We have Worcester Public Library cards and I thought about setting up Libby for her on our iPad so she can borrow her own audiobooks or eBooks when she wants.
WPL uses CW Mars, and CW Mars accounts for people under 13 are not allowed due to COPPA restrictions. The Worcester Public Schools website (https://www.worcesterschools.org/o/wems/page/more-ways-to-access-ebooks/) points you in the wrong direction, to a non-existent link on the WPL website. The WPS website also recommends to use Sora with your WPS Clever login, but when logging into that there's just two books available in the entire catalog and they didn't look like they matched her age/reading level (seemed like YA, she's not there yet).
Any Worcester parents set this up for their kids? I can try using my Libby account, but I'd prefer if she had her own so that our recommendations don't get screwed up. The CW Mars website and WPL websites didn't have any guidance that I could find easily, CW Mars basically has no resources around account age restrictions.

My family has visitors from overseas coming to spend the middle of December with us for the holidays. We've already planned on the botanical garden night lights, seeing a christmas carol at the Hanover, and a trip to the Worcester Art museum. What are some other fun and festive things happening that we could add?

The Haunted Speakeasy, created by Worcester chanteuse Niki Luparelli, has been delivering Halloween chills and jazz age thrills for a decade.

in case this helps anyone else: the website for the city’s downpayment assistance program is out of date.
the maximum AMI to receive the $5000 grant is $84,300 for 2026 and the city is no longer offering assistance to employees that work in worcester :(

I've seen several cop cars driving around Worcester with the blue lights on but not flashing. Is that a policy they have or just a weird coincidence?

Saw a bunch of cop cars pulled up next to the building, totally took over the side of the road. There were kids waiting for the bus just outside. It was wild. Does anyone know what happened?

Hi I'm looking for recommendations for an affordable vet in Worcester or the surrounding towns that's accepting new patients and could get my 8-month-old kitten in relatively soon. I don't really care how far I have to drive, a lot of the vets in Worcester seem to be crazy overpriced and second chance is booking appointments far out
Yesterday, she suddenly started limping on her front left paw and was refusing to put any weight on it. She had gotten into a scuffle with one of our other cats earlier in the day, but seemed completely fine afterward, so I'm not sure if it's related or if she injured herself jumping around my room.
She's polydactyl (has extra toes), so I'm concerned she may have torn or caught one of her claws on something, or possibly injured a joint.
Thankfully, she's doing a lot better today! She's slowly starting to put weight on the paw again, still wants to play, and isn't showing any obvious signs of significant pain. Regardless, I want to get her checked out to make sure nothing serious is going on.
Does anyone know of any reasonably priced vets in the area that are accepting new patients? I'd especially appreciate recommendations from anyone who knows what the initial exam fees typically cost. I'm trying to keep expenses as low as possible while still making sure she gets the care she needs. Obviously I will spend as much money as I can to figure this out, but I thought it would be a good idea to get some recommendations for affordable vets, I also have spot pet insurance which should help
Thank you!!
I'm willing to drive far out, I know there are a lot of cheaper vets in Boston. If anyone thinks this is something that definitely can't wait please let me know! She seemed to get mad at me when I touched her paw last night after she hurt it but today I'm able to touch it and she seems less bothered/ using it a little more but still occasionally holding it weird
Edit: I don't wanna take any chances found somewhere and booked her a same day appointment only $75 for the initial check up I went with Boston street animal clinic

Has anyone struggled with awful service on Mint lately in the Worcester Area? Especially in Westborough it’s almost like I don’t have Data sometimes? Thinking to Switch before my annual plan Renews End of Month, wanna hear if others have been experiencing this aswell or if it’s a problem with my phone.

First time trying this. I will try to add time-coded URLs for future meetings if of interest.

Apparently there are no City Council meetings the next two weeks.

Well, last night was fun. I made manicotti for my family and no one ended up wanting any of it. Not because anything was wrong with it, but because we are an autistic household with dietary preferences.
It’s been in Tupperware in the fridge since last night. It should serve 3-4 people. You can keep the Tupperware!
I am in Rutland, but I work two jobs and have three kids so I don’t have the time to drive the food to Worcester or a Woo Fridge. But if anyone can meet up in Holden or Rutland this evening I would love to give it to you. Please message me directly if interested and we can discuss a time and place to meet. First come first serve! I will comment or delete this post once I’ve committed the food to someone so there’s no confusion. Thanks!

Grabbing nearly every Aubrey/Maturin novel (and some other O'Brien) for $17? That's an impressive steal
