I get what you are trying to do here. And thanks.
But, I'm tuned perfectly to placation and am painfully aware of it's practice on me.

u/CheddarKnight Sep 15 '26
Had to look up "placation" because of this. Also, can relate. Also, also, thanks for the vocabulary increase of the week.

may I suggest they see an optometrist?

u/wrr377 Sep 15 '26
Seriously. Anyone who's physically attracted to me needs to get their eyes checked...

u/Sure_Plenty_7257 Sep 15 '26
Same here

u/SenorDongles Sep 15 '26
Stop being hard on yourselves, jfc.
21
u/RexDeDeus Sep 15 '26
They might as well be hard on themselves since no one else is gonna be hard for them. /s

At least I didnt go into details. Don't want to traumatize anyone :)

u/SenorDongles Sep 15 '26
Just for self degradation, take a downvote.
4
u/Sure_Plenty_7257 Sep 15 '26
being realistic isnt self degradation. Trying to date for 6 years and only getting one is all the proof I need.

Your comment was funny, so I'd say you've got a good sense of humor. Be yourself, live life, don't change to try to impress anyone
Everybody has a type of person they appeal to naturally.2
u/Unclehomer69420 27d ago
Those are rookie numbers, try being single for seventeen years with no dates.
I ain't even heinous to look at neither, I'm just plainer than cream of wheat.

Man! I’m almost forty and haven’t had so much as a hug from anyone who isn’t family. Get outta here with your nonsense!

u/RednocNivert Sep 15 '26
Yes because the greater the mass = the greater attraction and i’m built like Violet Beauregard after eating Willy Wonka’s forbidden Gun

that's just the universe throwing you a compliment - catch it before it slips away

That’s why I keep myself at large most of the day and only get out in the countryside at night.

Lowkey don't wanna because I'm bound to hurt folk by refusal. But the effort counts :3

Well, can’t say that I blame them. A failing education system, poor role models, a general erosion of morals. Not to mention the cost of proper corrective lenses. But even knowing they don’t know any better, bad taste, unreasonable expectations, and poor vision, I’ll still take the compliment.

Technically possible, but unlikely enough that it’s not worth considering.

That's very sweet.
It's hard to believe when you look in the mirror and are deeply disappointed in what you see.
However, I'm not going to interrupt anyone who ends up making that particular mistake.

r/technicallythetruth I guess
We all experience attraction all the time. Even in free fall, or even if you were infinitely far away from mass/matter... I'd love to see you do that without an air tight pressurizing space suit and still be in a state where you could be said to be "looking at someone" 🤔

You speak with the mouth of a liar, with the words typed from the hands of a fraud
But thank you for making me feel attractive

So the assface remark in the parking lot the other day was meant as a term of endearment?

Maybe they are jealous so they felt the need to insult you?
(Well there will always be assholes. Also I personally don't even get attracted by looks, but by if I find someone sympathetic. Someone who seems like a person I get along with automatically idk emits positivity or something? If someone is a person I will potentially like that fact makes them look attractive in my eyes. Oh and if it's about romantic specifically smell is also important. Like the subtile chemical something that my subconsciousness picks up from the person in front of me.
Of course I can only speak for myself, but I really don't care about looks, as long as you're not noticable dirty or something.)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, That is why there is variety what looks good to one may not look good to another ,to each his own this is shallow thinking , because whether they are good looking what counts the most is their personality.

Wild this 5 day old post shows up as I go into day two of my first major depressive spell in about 3 years. I’m not entirely convinced but thanks for the message.

why do people think that a compliment is just some "good" words? you are just blatantly lying, you dont know me, you dont even refer to me, it doesnt make me feel better, maybe even worse actuall. what is this "nice slop"

I understand where you're coming from but you're not getting personalized compliments from a subreddit.

This is the wrong sub if this kind of stuff offends you. Seek therapy.
