Help: Capstone Review
Hi everyone!
I posted a few weeks ago, I’m still looking for people to take part in my capstone about navigating workplace onboarding.
Participation entails completing an e-learning module that I made and a survey about their experience. Everything start to finish should take no longer than 1 hour.
If you’d like to help or want more info, comment below (or DM) and I’ll get back to you!!!
Thank you so much!! Have a great day 🙂

Any Advice on Masters for a Music Teacher?
Hi there. I have my BA in Music Education for K-12, and am currently a K-5 music teacher. I am planning on doing my masters at WGU but am not sure which degree would be most applicable to my classroom. I was thinking curriculum but another told me I should consider doing the ELL masters, because I student population is pretty diverse. Any recommendations?

Help
Hello! So I am in New York and I’m currently doing my student teaching in a kindergarten classroom through WGU. My major is elementary education which is grades 1-6, but they placed me to student teach in kindergarten. I am concerned because NYSED elementary education is 1-6, so I’m nervous that when I apply for certification in New York it will be a problem. I reached out to the licensure team and my clinical placement coordinator and they all told me it wouldn’t be a problem. Do you guys think it will be a problem?? Does anyone have an experience like this? I’m stressing

Does WGU student teaching/clinical placement really take 1–2 months?

M.S. Curriculum & Instruction @ WGU
I finally took the first step toward earning my master’s degree through WGU, and my start date is November 1st
For those who are currently attending WGU or have already graduated, what advice would you give to a new student? Any tips for staying organized, managing time, getting through coursework, or making the most of the program?
Also, is there anything I can work on or prepare while I wait for my start date? I’d love to get a head start if possible!
I’d love to hear your experiences, what you wish you knew before starting, and any tips that helped you succeed. Thank you!

Advanced clinical applications
Has anyone ever been able to get an exception made to apply for advanced clinical outside of the 1-7th? I was placed for EC a week ago and am completing my Horus now but can’t wait till November for advanced clinicals. I’m in KY and need additional observation hours before student teaching and basically if I don’t start student teaching by the second week of January there aren’t enough school days for me to fulfill student teaching requirements. Because of this I’m wondering if an exception could be made for my AC application. I emailed the general clincials email and they said no and I’m waiting to hear back from a few specific people. Basically I’m asking anyone k can because I would hate to need to student teach like six days in August because of something so stupid. If I don’t apply until November that would give me one week to wait for placement before o wouldn’t be able to complete all my observation hours, I’m hoping to be at the same school I am now because they applied pretty quickly. So has anyone heard of an exception for the AC application being made?

My mentor teacher in elementary education only teaches science and social studies.
Does anyone have experience with this? I'm getting my BASPEE degree and was placed in a 5th grade class where the mentor teacher only teaches science and social studies. Anyone have this experience? How did it turn out for you?

What’s a good wgu degree to take if you have no experience?
Whats a good degree for someone who only has experience in working class jobs but wants to transition to a professional career. Something that is easy to get into once you graduate. Please no answers telling me to do what I love or to learn a trade. Everyone in my family works in the trades and I’ve seen what it does to their physical after years. I’m adaptable I had good grades in high school but that was 10 years ago I wanted to work and make money and now I have a great amount of money saved up and want to further my education and find a worthwhile degree. Thank you!

Endorsement for TOSEL practicum questions.
I am an active teacher (MS ELA) interested in getting my endorsement in TESOL to teach English Language Learners. I am looking at the WGU program, but still undecided because of the practicum. Did anyone complete this? Did you find it hard to get the 30 video hours while teaching? I am in Ohio, so would need an additional 20 hours for licensure also.
